08/06/2025: A lovely little osteria on a side street in San Gimignano, away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The pizza was very good, as was the house wine. The price (including €3 covers per person) is still acceptable.

05/06/2025: Good restaurant with typical Tuscan dishes in the historic center of San Gimignano and with outdoor seating. Excellent tagliatelle with wild boar, grilled steak but also the cold cuts from the cutting board. All cheered up by good house wine - Chianti - and the friendliness and cordiality of the owner.

11/05/2025: Room OK after complaint, service cool, breakfast spartan and always too little available, egg dishes and fried bacon always cold.

08/05/2025: While the hotel is not in the old city center it is only a 400 m walk away on sidewalks beside the road. It’s nice to also have a bar and restaurant for breakfast and dinner on premise. Last night I had the Tuscan bean soup. Very traditionally made with soft white beans, fresh spinach and bread and drizzled with olive oil. Flavors subtle the way it was meant to be in an average home. The baked chicken with saffron topped with asparagus was just right. Moist and tender inside with al dente asparagus. A fine end to a day on via Francigena.

03/05/2025: A little hidden among the streets of San Gimignano, it has a traditional menu at a truly competitive price (I have seen obscene prices due to the high tourist influx that characterizes this village, even restaurants with a cover charge of 6 euros per person). The bruschettas are exceptional, the bread is excellent and the ingredients are fresh and genuine with winning combinations. We then ate some well-prepared first courses. It is home-made cuisine, simple and tasty for an excellent quality/price ratio. Very happy to have discovered it!

03/05/2025: Good food and a calm and welcoming atmosphere. I recommend it above all to escape the hustle and bustle of the rest of the streets of San Gimignano. We will return!

03/11/2024: Abbiamo fatto colazione curiosando per San Gimignano e siamo stati travolti dai sapori dei prodotti e dalla bellezza della signora Marcella che mentre sfornava orgogliosa il Pan dei Morti, parlava e scherzava con staff e clienti! Spettacolare!

03/11/2024: Sembrava un'ottima pasticceria alla vista ma una bella fregatura x il palato, probabilmente non gli interessa molto vista l affluenza di gente sempre diversa che entra nel locale. Ho preso una torta alla crema pasticcera veramente orribile, sapeva completamente di farina, la peggior crema mangiata in un luogo dove la crema dovrebbe esser il cavallo di battaglia, una tra le prime cose che impara un pasticcere. Tra l altro pagata 6 euro, troppo cara x la qualità. Anche il ginseng era salvato.

23/05/2025: Mean staff, loud & unkind, who do not care about their customers. They lie to you that they do not have a POS, though they have, they just want to skip some taxes and for you to pay cash. Not very clean. The food is mediocre at best. Just skip it.

25/04/2025: During our journey on the Via Francigena, we had the pleasure of staying at the Cappuccina Country Resort in San Gimignano, an experience that exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 16 people, staying in 8 rooms, and from our arrival the welcome was simply excellent, making us feel welcome straight away. The rooms were a real luxury, with king-size beds that provided a refreshing rest after our days of walking. But the real highlight was the breakfast: wonderful and with an incredible choice, perfect for starting the day with the right energy. We highly recommend the Cappuccina Country Resort to anyone passing through San Gimignano, especially to groups and to those traveling the Via Francigena. A true corner of paradise!

The combination made for such a comforting and memorable experience. I highly recommend stopping here, even if you're not a coffee lover! 06/05/2025: Sono rimasta davvero delusa da questo bar. Dopo aver preso un gelato, ho provato a pagare con il bancomat, come faccio regolarmente in moltissimi altri locali, ma il pagamento è stato rifiutato. La cosa assurda è che, controllando dall’app della carta, risultava che l’esercente fosse registrato come “giochi d’azzardo” – una categoria che la mia carta blocca automaticamente per motivi di sicurezza. Invece di provare a risolvere la cosa con gentilezza o semplicemente offrire un’alternativa, la donna al banco ha subito iniziato ad alterarsi. Ma non finisce qui. Le mie amiche avevano bisogno urgente di usare il bagno, ma nonostante nel 99% dei bar sia sufficiente che almeno una persona consumi per permettere a tutto il gruppo di accedervi, la titolare ha avuto un atteggiamento scortese e le ha letteralmente mandate via. Una di loro, pur di poter andare in bagno, ha acquistato qualcosa, e la risposta sarcastica della barista è stata: “Eeeh, vedi che alla fine dovevi andarci!” con un tono palesemente provocatorio. Inaccettabile. Zero professionalità, zero cortesia. Un comportamento del genere non dovrebbe essere tollerato in nessun esercizio pubblico. Non tornerò mai più.

27/04/2025: Se siete a San Gimignano non fatevi scappare questo ristorante. Ambiente molto intimo e con una bella atmosfera. Fatevi trasportare dal menù e dalla professionalità dei ragazzi di sala. Piatti molto buoni e da degustare anche con gli occhi. Complimenti a tutti/e

26/04/2025: Restaurante com bom ambiente , comi o pato , regular . Garçons assoberbados atendem com pressa . A bisteca boa , foi o prato do restante da mesa . Solicitamos pão mas o garçom disse que só podia trazer qdo viessem os pratos apesar de insistirmos .

02/05/2025: Abbiamo cenato in due, cibo di buona qualità e cucinato bene però veramente troppo caro per un bistrot. Abbiamo anche dato un’occhiata alla carta dei vini ma i prezzi erano proibitivi, molto molto più cari del ristorante di buon livello in cui avevamo cenato la sera prima. Peccato perché il locale è molto carino ma dí sicuro non ci torneremo

21/04/2025: Abbiamo visitato San Gimignano recentemente. Arrivati all'ora di pranzo abbiamo deciso di fermarci in questo locale. Abbiamo mangiatoi i pici e le casarecce ed il tutto accompagnato dai vini consigliati nel menu. Tutto buonissimo. Certo il conto un pò esoso.. una calice di vino 8 euro non è proprio economico. Comunque sei a S.Gimignano e se la qualità c'è va pagata!

13/05/2025: When I win the lottery, I’m just going to move in as a permanent guest and live there. The place and the staff were so amazing. There are just not words to describe the views of San Gimignano. The food was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the wonderful woman who served us every day. Stefano was the person who made our omelette. He was also amazing.

15/01/2025: Literally one of the best experiences of my life. Staying at La Collegiata was like being taken back in time, but with all the modern luxuries! The grounds and décor are beautiful. I think about the breakfast and pool once a week since our stay in June 2025. The area is quiet and a quick drive to town. We also easily visited Florence (with a car) and were happy to come back to the peace and quiet of the hotel. Hope to come back one day.
