First of all, I had a second helping of a sandwich he recommended, it was delicious, and then it's worth the 5 stars just for his friendliness and politeness, excellent, high-quality sandwiches and absolutely low prices compared to the average in Pienza.

03/09/2025: I honestly don't think this place is worth the hype. After reading so many good reviews we booked a lunch there. The reservation was not necessary because the place was absolutely empty. We had tartare and beetroot tartare and then pasta with truffles and pasta with yellow tomatoes (this was absolutely the worst of the dishes we ordered). Menu seemed interesting but all the dishes we had were just mediocre, nothing special, they lacked the twist, flavour, the taste was very boring. All of them required additional seasoning. So we left disappointed. I don't see how this place could get Michelin recommendation, maybe it changed a lot since then? We had plenty of better meals in Tuscany. Yet this place is more expensive than most of the places in the area. On the good note, the stuff was nice and very attentive. Overall, I think you can easly skip this place if you are in the area and look for something else.

23/08/2025: If you're passing through Pienza, I recommend waiting in line for a few minutes and sitting down at Baccano. Excellent food, super friendly staff, excellent wine, and lots of smiles. The place is small but super cool! On my next trip to Pienza, I'll definitely stop by for a bite!

26/07/2025: Reservamos una mesa en este hermoso restaurante por recomendación! Qué comida fantástica. Excelente servicio, Teenager tenía la hamburguesa que se veía y olía increíble, mi marido y yo teníamos la carne de res. Las comidas para adultos eran realmente deliciosas, hermosa carne de res cocinada a la perfección. El menú para niños era limitado pero delicioso. La elección del vino era extensa. ambiente en el jardín exterior era impresionante. Tristemente IT era nuestra última noche en esta zona, pero sin duda volveríamos cuando visite la zona la próxima vez! Gracias.

11/09/2025: Incredible experience in this little restaurant. I recommend it 100%. You have to book for the evening. It's not possible to book for lunch. The dishes are different from what we usually see in other establishments. The owner is great and very kind. €60 for two, having really tasted everything. I will come back next time with pleasure.

12/08/2025: There are few places that can surprise. And yet... My partner found this Trattoria on the Michelin Guide. We decided to take a chance because the entrance to the restaurant "didn't look inviting..." However, the owner, chef, and waiter turned out to be a delightful Italian, not because he offered us the standard complimentary limoncello after our meal, but because he offered us local, delicious, and beautifully presented dishes, all of which, above all, were prepared by himself. And nearby, his daughter was playing on a swing with her young dog, and his wife was watching over him... what more could you want from such a place? And such a family? I recommend it to anyone bored with eating at "fancy" restaurants 😊

18/08/2025: I'm sorry because I don't usually leave negative reviews, but the quality of true hospitality lies in its warmth and kindness. The terrace has a beautiful view of the hills, but unfortunately, it felt like we were in the way and were a nuisance. Let's start with the fact that there's a sign at the entrance saying that the kitchen is closed from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, so you can order a cocktail and SOME COLD DISHES. My boyfriend and I went in for a plate of cured meats and a glass of wine. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a young woman who would have been anywhere BUT not there. Without even saying hello, she began by saying that the kitchen was already closed. We explained that we only wanted a glass of wine and some cured meats, and she sat us down without giving us any explanation as to what we could actually order. Then a gentleman arrived and I very kindly asked him if, in addition to the cured meats, it was possible to order, for example, a carpaccio. He replied, "The kitchen is closed, so it's enough if you have the carving." At that point, I wanted to get up, but I simply replied that since it said outside that it was possible to have something to eat with it, I just wanted to know what was available. Otherwise, the platter was good, the Tuscan rosé not so great. I would have preferred to be somewhere else, like the girl who welcomed us.

15/08/2025: BEST RESTAURANT IN PIENZA La Terrazza del Chiostro is nothing short of magical. Situated on the edge of Pienza, it offers a panoramic view that takes your breath away. Rolling Tuscan hills stretch endlessly, illuminated by a golden light that seems to be painted by hand. We’ve dined all over Italy, and this view is easily among the most spectacular we’ve seen. The food more than matches the scenery. If you are vegetarian like us, there are plenty of dishes to indulge in, however, the standout for us was the cacio e pepe. It had a perfect balance of creamy, peppery richness elevated by the aroma of black truffle, and every bite was decadent and rich. I almost ordered a second plate! Service was warm and attentive without ever feeling rushed, allowing us to linger and savor both the meal and the moment. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, plan to arrive slightly early so you can soak in the view before or during the sunset. It is truly an unforgettable experience. If you’re in Pienza, do yourself a favor: book a table here, order the cacio e pepe, and prepare for one of the most amazing meals of your life.

13/06/2025: Writing a review of this 3-star "Hotel" is not easy. Yes, because, reading other reviews, apart from one, the others speak of a structure that absolutely did not reflect what we experienced. Arriving late in the evening, we were told that there was no garage, when at the time of booking, on the phone I had been confirmed the possibility of putting the motorcycle in the garage. GOOD, BUT LET'S GO IN ORDER. THE ROOMS: I WOULD FIRST NOTE THAT WE STAYED FOR TWO NIGHTS AND THE ROOM WAS NEITHER REDONE NOR CLEANED, AS THE RULES OF A 3-STAR HOTEL REQUIRE! WE TAKE THE ROOM CALLED "SUPERIOR" BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THE MANAGEMENT, IT HAS THE LARGEST BATHROOM. ONCE WE HAVE TAKEN POSSESSION OF THE ROOM, WE REALIZE, WANT TO TAKE A SHOWER, AFTER HOURS AND HOURS OF MOTORCYCLE, THAT THE 3 STAR HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER A SIMPLE HAIR DRYER, WHICH I HAVE TO ASK FOR, THE SAME FATE FOR SHAMPOO OR SHOWER GEL, ONLY TWO, PROVIDED FOR TWO DAYS OF STAY, PRACTICALLY IF THE CUSTOMER DOESN'T ASK FOR IT, THEY SIMPLY DON'T BOTHER TO GIVE IT.. THE "SUPERIOR" ROOM HAS MOSQUITO NETS, BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY CANNOT ELIMINATE THE DANGER OF MOSQUITOES, SINCE I HAVE TO ELIMINATE REAL HELICOPTERS (I TOOK PHOTOS) WHICH FORTUNELY DO NOT STING BUT WHICH TO SEE, AND ABOVE ALL HEARING YOURSELF AT NIGHT IS NOT PLEASANT. THE SHOWER, VERY SMALL, BUT THE UNACCEPTABLE THING IS TO SEE PIGEON DROPPINGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BATHROOM WINDOW! NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE HAVE KEPT THE BATHROOM WINDOW CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. FORGET ABOUT A MINI FRIDGE, FORGET ABOUT A CLOSET, BUT ONLY A COAT RACK ALONG THE WALL. THE BED: IF YOU LIKE THE 80'S METAL MESH BASE, THEN IT'S PERFECT, INCLUDING METALLIC NOISES AFTERWARDS. THE MATTRESS, INSUFFICIENT. BREAKFAST. IN MANY YEARS OF HONORABLE BIKERS ACTIVITY, I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A BARRELLING AND ABOVE ALL UNACCEPTABLE BREAKFAST. SHOULD I DESCRIBE IT? IT IS ENOUGH TO SAY THAT ON THE SECOND MORNING A CUSTOMER WENT TO GET CROISSANTS AT THE BAR DEL BORGO. THE MUCH-VALUED CUISINE? NOT AVAILABLE! ON THE SECOND EVENING, WE TOLD ONE OF THE GIRLS THAT WE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO DO THE HALF-BOARD MENU, BECAUSE, AS IT WAS A PIZZA ROUND EVENING AT THEIR PLACE AND WE PREFERRED TO EAT TYPICAL CUISINE, WE DID NOT FEEL LIKE EATING PIZZA. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS EASILY POSSIBLE AND THEY OFFERED US SOME TORTELLINI, RABBIT....EHM....YES...TOO BAD THAT WE RETURNED AFTER LESS THAN AN HOUR, AND AFTER ASKING ANOTHER GIRL FROM THE STAFF, WE WERE LITERALLY TOLD THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EAT, NEITHER TORTELLINI, NOR RABBIT, NOR PIZZA! BECAUSE THE PLACE WAS BY NOW FULL. WHILE THE GIRL WAS EVEN RAISING DOUBT THAT WE HAD MADE PREVIOUS AGREEMENTS ON THE MENU, CLAIMING THAT WE HAD NOT TALKED TO HER AND THAT SHE WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR CONFIRMATION, IN THE MEANTIME SHE CONTINUED TO NOT CARE ABOUT US WHO WERE WAITING, AND CONTINUED TO PREPARE FOR THE PIZZA ROUND. WE PRACTICALLY WAITED FOR HALF AN HOUR FOR HER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, AS SHE HAD SAID, FORTUNATELY THEY MANAGED TO BOOK AT A RESTAURANT NEARBY AND WE WERE ABLE TO EAT THERE, OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE ALSO REMAINED HUNGRY. THE NEXT DAY, WE ONLY DRINK AN ORANGE DRINK, PACKED OUR BAGS AND LEFT AWAY VERY HAPPY, TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A REAL BREAKFAST. THE ONLY THING WE LIKED? THE ATMOSPHERE, OF THE WHOLE VILLAGE. THE 3 STAR HOTEL "LA PIETRA" HAS A LONG WAY TO GO TO DEFINE ITSELF AS A 3 STAR. PS: DON'T FORGET TO ASK FOR THE WIFI PASSWORD, OTHERWISE IF YOU HOPE TO FIND THE INFORMATION IN THE ROOM LIKE ANY SELF-RESPECTING HOTEL, THEN YOU WILL HAVE A BAD SURPRISE. THERE IS NO TV, THE ONLY THING THAT IS WRITTEN ON THE SITE. THIS WAS OUR EXPERIENCE. TESTIFIED BY PHOTOS. THE PRICE IS ABSOLUTELY UNJUSTIFIED FOR WHAT THEY OFFER.
