18/05/2026: The pizza was decent overall, but it wasn't a good value for money, considering it cost €11. The tomato sauce was missing, or at least very dry, and for the fries, after spending €11, I would have expected more. Otherwise, the service was top-notch.

02/05/2026: A decidedly negative experience. We made a reservation over the phone for lunch today, and during the call, the "for tomorrow" was repeatedly repeated, just to avoid any misunderstandings. We showed up at the agreed-upon time, having specifically traveled from another city, but once there, we found the restaurant closed. When we contacted the manager, they told us we should have known they were closed for lunch on Saturdays, and that, according to them, it had been clarified over the phone that the table was for Sunday. The call was on speakerphone, and between two people, we heard absolutely no reference to Sunday: we clearly had the reservation for Saturday, especially since the "for tomorrow" was repeatedly repeated during the call. Most likely, since Friday was a holiday, the manager may have lost track of the days, but this doesn't excuse the unhelpful attitude and lack of customer service, especially considering we had traveled from another city specifically for that. Mistakes can happen to anyone, but how a situation is handled really makes a difference: in this case, unfortunately, it didn't.

09/11/2025: This is my second time here, and the second time it's always the same story. It's a birthday table, you call, and they force you to pay €20 per person for an aperitif, or else the food won't all arrive at once, and we'll be forced to do it Roman style. Okay, we accept. The platters arrive with cold food, there's no one-size-fits-all tasting, some items are limited in quantity, and the platters are randomly arranged. They bring some things to some, and other items to others. We complain, and not much is done. To make up for it, they deliver large quantities of subpar food, like cold, poorly made sandwiches, stale focaccia, cold crostini with sausage and frozen mozzarella. We had to ask for some items to be reheated, otherwise inedible. Regardless, we felt bad afterwards because the food clearly isn't good quality. Once can happen twice in a year, I think it's the rule here. Furthermore, the staff, while friendly, doesn't do much to hide the annoyance felt by a (justifiably) dissatisfied table. The place also has terrible acoustics; you have to shout to be heard. Perhaps they'll treat you better if you're two people. Highly discouraged for large tables with a set menu.

01/05/2026: Thin, cracker-style pizza for an average price of €12, served with paper placemats. Honestly, it's nothing special. I understand Pietrasanta and the tourists who need to be exploited, but as a local, I won't be returning. The waiters are friendly, though.

09/03/2026: We arrived early for dinner 7:45 and were seated quickly without a reservation. Staff was attentive and prompt. Their pizza menu is extensive! They also have a nice craft beer list. The crust is extra thin and the toppings well proportioned. Was extremely busy when we left.

31/05/2026: The pizza was bland, but leaving aside this detail, which could also be simply personal taste, when it came to the bill (144.42 divided by 6), the gentleman at the cash register arbitrarily decided to round up, making it €25 instead of €24 each. An extra euro per person wouldn't change our lives, but the dishonesty in wanting to pocket (obviously under the table) an extra €6 is commendable, especially given the audacity in saying "let's make it 25." Never again.

28/05/2026: The first time we had such a delicious meal that we came back. The second time was also very tasty! The Limoncello Spritz was not on the menu but was made especially for me by the attentive hostess.

11/12/2025: Lunch with local friends at the foot of the beautiful village of Barga, about 1 km from the train station. All the dishes we were served were plentiful and of good quality. The menu wasn't particularly extensive, but I think over-the-top options only serve to overwhelm customers. Pasta allo scoglio was plentiful and full of seafood, cooked perfectly al dente. The mixed fried fish was plentiful and dry.

28/04/2026: Delicious and quick lunch at affordable prices. From 6 pm onwards, enjoy an aperitif, e.g., a Spritz with crisps and snacks for €6.

24/04/2026: Terrible experience. Paid €3.60 for two coffees and a glass of water (paid ONE EURO). Obviously, no receipt. If they charge a glass of water as much as a whole bottle, it should be stated, I would have taken the bottle.

30/10/2025: The best 100% gluten-free ice cream shop in Viareggio. They also make custom cakes for birthdays and special events.

30/08/2025: In Tirano, in this square, we found this delightful pastry shop with excellent homemade cakes and jams. After breakfast, we also purchased sweets like biscotti and Bisciola, a hazelnut sbrisolona, ​​and finally blueberry and other fruit jams, along with hazelnut spreads. I recommend trying them because they use only sourdough starter, and the difference is truly amazing.

23/08/2025: From my experience, I can say that the pastries aren't always fresh, but last time they were dry and the cream was sour. I pointed this out to the waitress/owner, and she threw it away, saying "after checking," to demean the situation.

18/05/2026: There's a spa with a sauna, wellness massages, and housekeeping services. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool and gym with sea views. The only downside is that the hot tub was under maintenance. International breakfasts, both savory and sweet, include local delicacies. It's a truly luxury hotel.

17/05/2026: Excellent location on the seafront, with a beautiful and elegant hotel entrance. The room is a bit dated and cramped for three people, but the staff is very friendly. The pool is beautiful, and especially the breakfast room with its sea view. The buffet is excellent, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options. Parking is available in the garage.

13/04/2026: What can I say... La Bussola Versilia isn't just a restaurant; it's a true piece of our country's history. Reviewing a place like this requires study and commitment. It's truly not easy, and you can't limit yourself to what you see today (which isn't bad). If the parts could talk, they'd speak with the voices of Mina, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, and more. It's really difficult. I can say that the restaurant's standard remains high.
