07/06/2026: I'm reviewing this restaurant because it's definitely worth stopping by to try their dishes. Located right on the beach, Bagno Leila offers a lovely atmosphere for a wonderful evening. Their strengths are their hospitality and attentive service. We had a full dinner with appetizers, first courses, second courses, and dessert. The cuisine gets top marks: fast service and hot, tasty dishes.

31/12/2025: It had been years since I returned, unfortunately I found a truly disorganized team, endless waits despite the place being almost empty, mediocre pizza, I give two stars because once upon a time it was a small place that deserved it.

27/07/2026: Alma Rosa known as an art music bar has quite a vibe and the road side terrace seems to get more lively as the night progresses. All the activity is on the terrace with a DJ on the table and his speakers blaring inside. Probably to appease the neighbours. Your evening will be interspersed by a gyrating belly dancer whose impressive dresses are changed for every act. A veritable Daenerys lookalike. My pasta, although not al dente, was good as was the open steak sandwich. Definitely a fun evening out.

27/06/2026: There were 9 of us and we waited a very long time for our food. Some ate it, others waited. The calamari pizza had plastic wrap on it, but the chef said it wasn't plastic wrap... the drinking glasses were dirty, too bad we didn't take pictures. By the way, we're Polish, not Russian!

27/06/2026: We came in with a group of 9 people and were seated quite fast. When we sat down several of the glasses were dirty. After mentioning this to the staff the glasses were changed for somewhat cleaner glasses. We ordered and the staff friendly explained what the items on the menu were. After ordering, all the items came separate and it took very long until the pizza’s arrived. The other non pizza items were already eaten when the pizza’s arrived which made the seating longer. The pizza’s were good but nothing special. At the end the machine also broke and took more time to finally pay the bill. This review still gets two stars due to an unnecessary remark made by the owner/staff. (Something about wine not being vodka)

09/08/2026: I've been going to Carlino for twenty years and I can say I've never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and always available. I highly recommend it.

06/08/2026: Unfortunately, we ordered pasta with scampi and received a tomato and cream pasta with virtually no scampi. An unacceptable tourist trap.

08/07/2026: It was a real bad experience, we paid 60 euro. 40 to stay, 20 for the pool (which he only accepted in cash 🤔 might be a scam/tax fraud). He did not tell us that the pool closed 1,5 hours after we paid for it. (That felt like a bad customer service choice). The sound of tennis players and gundhots could be heard all through the evening and night. The facilities were not nice or well kept. All in all a bad experience, but it was available for the night. So we took it.

24/05/2026: Ideal base for exploring or relaxing. We stayed at il Serchio for 7 nights. The owner is very friendly and speaks excellent English. The site is well laid out with established hedges bordering the pitches. This gives you a cozy plot which gives privacy and shade. The toilet block gives all the essentials with plenty of hot water, dishwashing area and washing machines and a dryer for clothes. Being a 20min walk to Lucca there's plenty to see and do. From Lucca you can catch a train or bus to Florence and Pisa or down to the Tuscan coast. Closer to the site it's a much shorter walk to the riverside and a long towpath offering great bike riding or just a stroll with shade from the trees. All in all a great experience with a comfortable base.

25/08/2025: We stopped in Torre del Lago Puccini with our caravan and arrived at this place in the evening. We were warmly welcomed, and the playground was huge for a restaurant. Surrounded by greenery, it was truly beautiful. I had a delicious pizza, and the kids had a kids' menu. The price was super fair.

03/04/2026: I ordered a Margherita and it was completely burned on the bottom. They replaced it with another Margherita...a little less burned. The dough was heavy. The bathrooms were poorly maintained, with doors that didn't close and an overflowing paper bin. The service was friendly and fast (there was only one other table of 2 besides us in the entire pizzeria). The prices were too high for the quality.
