06/09/2025: First and last time! On advice, I decided to try it and was disappointed, to say the least. My boyfriend had ordered a pizza with sausage. When the pizza was served, he found pieces of salami on the pizza. Real cubes. When I asked for an explanation, they told me they were out of sausage. I was speechless. They tried to convince us to make another one, but we wouldn't. They should have asked before adding fancy ingredients. They definitely didn't want to make it again and wanted to solve the problem this way without first consulting the customer who was supposed to eat it. He could have been allergic or intolerant. Never again!

20/09/2025: The quality isn't excellent, okay, but that's fine on a ferry. But being insulted by the lady at the counter, whose insults I didn't even respond to, was a terrible experience. Plus, I felt like she was being insulting, an "old lady," as she called her behind my back.

18/09/2025: I'm happy you've reopened in the city, but honestly, I don't think I'll be back. I'd stopped buying from you even before you closed: on several occasions, I'd found poorly made arancini, with rice that was too sticky, almost spreadable, and with poor fillings. So, I've shifted my inquiry elsewhere—as they say in economics, I've cast a "vote from the wallet." In town, I've found better options, like Panyllo, where the rice is well-cooked, flavored with saffron, and the filling is generous. I believe it's essential for Messina to offer quality arancini, both out of respect for local tradition and to impress tourists. You at Ancora are the first rotisserie they notice, and if the products are mediocre, you risk damaging the city's gastronomic image. I invite you to pay more attention to some fundamental aspects: 1. Cooking the rice (neither raw nor sticky) 2. Maintaining the presence of saffron (which gives it a golden color and aroma). I mention this because many rotisseries in Messina don't offer it, and the rice looks white, but it doesn't reflect the original recipe imported by the Arabs centuries ago. 3. Crispy breading 4. Generous and well-distributed filling I highly recommend checking out the approach of other establishments like Al Faro del Gusto in Torre Faro (Messina) or Bar Touring in Palermo on Via Lincoln. At both of these places, and anywhere in Palermo, I can confirm, as a Messina native, that Palermitan arancini are always made with the utmost commitment and passion. Messina deserves its arancini worthy of its tradition, as Nunnari did. With a little more care, you could really take things to the next level.

15/09/2025: We ate well but honestly a bit expensive. We had 2 coffees after 227 euros and they didn't even offer them.

27/07/2025: We had lunch for four, two adults and two children. The place is very rustic, so if you're looking for simplicity and the flavors of the past, this is the right place. As soon as we arrived, I repeat, the very rustic environment didn't give us much hope, but between the breeze and the view from the small terrace, the attentive and kind service of a young man who puts all his effort into it, and above all the really well-made food, it's a place we'll return to. We didn't leave a single thing on the plate. Everything was good, cooked well, flavorful to perfection, without the use of cream or other Pastrocchi. The bread meatballs in tomato sauce were fantastic. And the fresh chips cut by them and fried by them like grandma's? Devoured in a flash. Small suggestion, if I may, the portions could be a little larger. Thank you for this lunch of simple flavors.

14/09/2025: The quality of the bread, gelato, granitas, and pizzas is unquestionable. The rustici and focaccia section is slightly below average, but overall The gelato deserves top marks, excellent granitas, good bread, and excellent pizzas. The service staff are always kind and smiling, professional, and have a clear vision, so many compliments. The prices, while a little high, are not above average; in fact, overall, they're fair, especially in a business where I believe there are no irregularities regarding staff or equipment. Congratulations to everyone, especially the workers.

05/07/2025: La pizzeria del Siciliano a Montalbano Elicona,ci ha riservato una piacevolissima sorpresa. Da tempo si racconta della presenza sul territorio di una prelibatezza gastronomica eccezionale: il tartufo nero. Personalmente so per certo che sul finire degli anni settanta venne condotto un esperimento di impianto di tartufo in diversi appezzamenti di noccioleto, dopodiché il silenzio per quasi cinquanta anni. Ed ecco la sorpresa La pizza alla montalbanese, con provola, funghi porcini e...il tartufo nero di montalbano. Bravissimo il pizzaiolo e bravo Vincenzo... Ad maiora.

02/08/2025: Abbiamo cenato l altra sera e siamo rimasti entusiasti da questa esperienza. Personale molto gentile considerando le nostre intolleranze alimentari sia a latte e derivati ed al glutine. Pasta alle vongole da stella Michelin. Frittura spettacolare. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente considerata l alta stagione. Da consigliare a tutti i turisti qui a Vulcano

29/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo locale (La Bottega, Vulcano) e, onestamente, non ci ha lasciato nessuna impressione particolare. Un posto senza infamia e senza lode. Il cibo era discreto ma nulla che giustifichi i prezzi piuttosto pompati rispetto alle porzioni ricevute. Il coperto è davvero spropositato (7€ per due persone!), e il servizio non si è distinto né per gentilezza né per attenzione. 60€ per due grigliate di pesce che erano nella norma, 3,50€ per una bottiglia d’acqua da 75cl, e 4€ per un semplice cannolo: tutto risulta sopra le righe per ciò che viene effettivamente offerto. In zona ci sono decisamente alternative migliori, sia come qualità che come prezzi. Non lo sconsiglio in modo assoluto, ma non ci tornerei.

04/10/2025: A location hard to find elsewhere, the scent of the sea wafts through as you order something simple, unpretentious...cooking like you'd cook with friends at home, period. Come with whoever you like, or with a book and some music, to enjoy lunch and relax, then lie down on the pebbles in the sun, just a meter from the sea...an incredible pleasure.

10/09/2025: We had something there in passing, the pistachio arancini weren't that great, but the ones with sausage were very good, the staff was a bit distracted and my son had to repeat our order several times, but all in all it's a nice place.

04/08/2025: One of the best takeaways in the city: excellent value, courteous service, and home deliveries. I always order from them when I can! Compared to my previous review, I've noticed a marked deterioration: home delivery doesn't respect the agreed-upon time, and the prices have increased significantly, in proportion to the quality of the products. I'm not saying the pizza isn't good, but the price increase is excessive (times are tough for everyone, both buyers and sellers).

24/06/2025: La mia esperienza in questo ristorante è stata decisamente negativa. Il pesce crudo, che avrebbe dovuto essere il punto di forza del menù, era chiaramente al limite di freschezza, se non passato. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è inaccettabile: prezzi alti per piatti privi di gusto, mal bilanciati e dall’aspetto trascurato. L’estetica è trascurata, con accostamenti discutibili e una cura inesistente per i dettagli. Inaccettabile poi trovare nel piatto il carapace del granchio lasciato lì senza alcun criterio: una scelta di pessimo gusto, che compromette sia la fruibilità del piatto che l’esperienza complessiva. Unica nota positiva, la possibilità di cenare all’esterno con vista sulla piazza. Peccato che anche questa venga rovinata da una postazione scomodissima, con tavoli così stretti da rendere difficile l'accesso

22/06/2025: Molto deludente. I balconcini panoramici sulla piazza, sono piccolissimi e scomodi. I decantati piatti di pesce senza carattere, sapori slegati e, per questo, ingiustificatamente costosissimi . Spaghetti all'astice meno che mediocri, della pasta tipo gnocchetti con broccoli e gamberi rossi di Mazara, con gamberi senza sapore assolutamente non freschi ed affogati in un incomprensibile sugo con broccoli che induce seri interrogativi sul percorso formativo dello chef. Insipidi e malamente riscaldati gli antipasti. Dulcis in fundo, cannoli siciliani insignificanti ripieni solo ai lati, con cannolo praticamente per lo più vuoto. Il conto è stato il colpo di grazia 241 euro in due. Questo ristorante è un enorme bluff.

15/08/2025: Thank god we did not read the reviews before getting here! We have been twice during our stay in Taormina. Although it might be a tourist trap, delicious food and great service with waitstaff who are so friendly. Don’t be an entitled tourist and you’ll be OK.
