15/02/2025: Last night on the occasion of Valentine's Day we had dinner in this little restaurant, it's not very big but it's welcoming, the owners and the guy who served the tables were very kind and professional. Last night's menu was excellent (great Chef), all hot and of good quality, both my friends and I were really happy and satisfied. I highly recommend it! Thank you, we will definitely be back.

11/10/2024: Nice place and the chef also has a nice hand. Traditional dishes done really well and fair prices in relation to quality/price ratio. To return!

17/12/2024: Excellent breakfast, both the granita and the brioche and the croissants, nothing to say, but unfortunately the staff is rude, the service slow, no smile, it seems that they are doing you a great favor by serving you Note in response to the owner: date of visit 16 August 2024 (but in the past I went to visit Salina almost every year and it is certainly not the first time I have had a drink with you), from the background of the photo you can clearly recognize that it is the your venue

10/11/2024: Excellent 1 night stay with welcome drink and breakfast. The elegant structure that recalls the style of the Sicilian tradition, the staff are courteous, kind and available at any time. I recommend trying the restaurant next door affiliated with the hotel.

19/12/2024: Stopped for lunch on a busy afternoon and we were shown to a nice table out front. We had a very attentive waiter and thought the food was tasty and fairly priced. Very good house wine served in mid sized pitchers.

28/11/2024: At first it looks like the perfect place, it was full with people (i think because was raining) so we thought to give it a try. We quickly set down and short after we got our order picked. Now the fun goes down the drain, we ordered two glasses of wine - they brought one, took ages to bring the second one. Was hard to get someone’s attention, there were two waiters and the third one that seemed to be the manager, and all of them seemed to be very busy by managing all the tables all three of them at ones. We had a table near the kitchen and could see and hear chefs frustration by having food on the pas waiting too long. We got the starters very late and parmigiana tested microwaved (super hot, scolding hot) , when we asked for some salt and pepper for caprese salad they brought it to us when we almost finished it. After long time when we got our table cleaned we asked for the bill and informed the waiter that we also had ordered mains that we will not have. He brought the bill with mains included, again it took time until someone approached for us to pay. Long story short, the manager said we will have to pay for the mains cause the food is on the pass waiting to be served, tho we didn’t asked to follow up, when we tried to explain ourselves the other waiter interfered and made a show by saying that she will pay the rest from her salary, many times repeating herself out loud in the middle of the restaurant. They’ve changed the bill and now they were avoiding us so we just left the money on the table and got out.

25/11/2024: Poor food, presumptuous waiter, nice owner but unfortunately they didn't even have the sauce to make pasta for the children. Beautiful place worth it. Price not good too expensive.

10/09/2024: Beautiful place overlooking the sea.. you can eat both outside and inside. It has a very beautiful view. Lunch was very enjoyable, really good... linguine with seafood and plenty of pesto and excellent pasta... there is also good mixed fried food but a little for one person is fine...

29/09/2024: We go in to have a snack, we notice some kind of canestrelli in the window, partly empty and partly SLIGHTLY covered in pistachio or hazelnut cream. We rightly ask if they can be filled with flavors of our choice and we are told in response by the lady at the counter "they are already filled". To which we reply that they seem more empty than stuffed (they were: in most of them there was chopped hazelnuts AND THAT'S IT), and the lady at the counter replies to my mother "ma'am, what do you want?", synonymous with "don't bother me, thanks", later stating "in Messina we make them like this". He could have given reasons with a completely different tone, saying "unfortunately they came like this, sorry", "we can add something if you want", or any other response that does not disrespect the customer. Absolutely not recommended.

06/04/2025: The venue was once a flagship for the city and the Strait of Messina. Unfortunately, the current management has significantly changed both the reality and the services. Prices have increased significantly compared to other similar businesses in the Messina area (takeaways in particular), trying to speculate on passing tourists thanks to the presence of ships on the Strait of Messina, which is certainly not pleasant. The products should be fresher and prepared with greater care, especially typical products. Many of the reviews published on this Messina reality come from advertising agencies and therefore do not reflect the reality of the place. It is a real shame that the concept of tradition, of taste, which once made this place a small jewel in the crown of the City of Messina, has been lost. I wish the management to review their plans carefully, trying to think less about accumulating money and instead think about cleaning up this place, improving the services (including the hygienic ones which leave much, much to be desired), and which unfortunately continue to always be dirty.

10/03/2025: This evening I had terrible service, it was truly vulgar from the staff on duty who, despite being in the wrong towards me, even allowed themselves to call me rude, which is unlikely without any organization and even almost allowed themselves to threaten me. I understand how historical structures like this include rude staff. I really hope they have a verbal warning and that they don't behave like this with all the users who use this service out of necessity.

13/10/2024: If you find yourself in Messina, do yourself a favor and stop by "Pasticceria Vinci” for a taste of their heavenly cannoli and other delectable treats. You won’t be disappointed!

07/12/2024: In prima fila su Corso Umberto in pieno centro questo locale è molto gettonato per l’aperitivo, io vi ho cenato. Piatti della tradizione siciliana che nel mio caso ho trovato poco spinti nel sapore, se la pasta con la muddica è discreta, su altre portate il margine di miglioramento è ampio.

30/10/2024: Lo mejor de este restaurante era su precio para las comidas principales. Los platos de pasta cuestan unos 16 euros. Un camarero fue abrupto y tiró el agua de 4 euros y luego tiró la tapa. Otro camarero era excepcionalmente profesional. La ubicación es excelente y siempre está ocupado.

06/09/2024: What can I say, a transcendental experience. On holiday in Montalbano Elicona we decided (months ago) to try this place, given the breathtaking photos and positive reviews. Today, Friday 6 September (so not an anonymous Monday in February) we take the car and leave for the restaurant, which obviously appears open on Google with its twinkling stars that already make us foretaste the delicacies seen in the photos. After a HORRIBLE road completely in the dark, lost in the countryside and so bumpy that it forced us to travel at 5km/h (all for a good ten minutes), once we reached our destination we discovered that, contrary to what was reported on Google, the place was closed. The number found on Google (a cell phone) turned off. We were forced to travel the entire country road looking for a place to turn the car, and return to Montalbano Elicona where, surprise surprise, the places marked as "Open" were actually open. In 2024, driving roads like this in the dark without even having the decency to update the opening and closing times should be illegal. What can I say, thanks for nothing and never again

28/07/2024: Questa è la terza volta che tento di prenotare in questo ristorante dove alcuni amici mi hanno detto che si mangia molto bene ma purtroppo con i due numeri di recapito telefonico uno è perennemente staccato e all’altro non risponde nessuno Sul sito risulta aperto Recensione negativa perché in un ristorante e’ importante anche la comunicazione Spero qualche volta di poter venire e magari cambiare la recensione in positivo
