28/07/2025: Delicious, affordable, and fast pizza, and open even when everything else is closed. Wow, finally some vegetarian pizza with plenty of vegetables. And the tall, somewhat younger vendor is incredibly friendly and authentic, and speaks good English. Definitely worth a visit.

04/08/2025: Rude staff. After we'd eaten, we asked to use the restroom. We were allowed to, but they began knocking insistently and forcefully, then accused us of being rude and told us we shouldn't have used the restroom.

24/06/2025: La mia esperienza in questo ristorante è stata decisamente negativa. Il pesce crudo, che avrebbe dovuto essere il punto di forza del menù, era chiaramente al limite di freschezza, se non passato. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è inaccettabile: prezzi alti per piatti privi di gusto, mal bilanciati e dall’aspetto trascurato. L’estetica è trascurata, con accostamenti discutibili e una cura inesistente per i dettagli. Inaccettabile poi trovare nel piatto il carapace del granchio lasciato lì senza alcun criterio: una scelta di pessimo gusto, che compromette sia la fruibilità del piatto che l’esperienza complessiva. Unica nota positiva, la possibilità di cenare all’esterno con vista sulla piazza. Peccato che anche questa venga rovinata da una postazione scomodissima, con tavoli così stretti da rendere difficile l'accesso

22/06/2025: Molto deludente. I balconcini panoramici sulla piazza, sono piccolissimi e scomodi. I decantati piatti di pesce senza carattere, sapori slegati e, per questo, ingiustificatamente costosissimi . Spaghetti all'astice meno che mediocri, della pasta tipo gnocchetti con broccoli e gamberi rossi di Mazara, con gamberi senza sapore assolutamente non freschi ed affogati in un incomprensibile sugo con broccoli che induce seri interrogativi sul percorso formativo dello chef. Insipidi e malamente riscaldati gli antipasti. Dulcis in fundo, cannoli siciliani insignificanti ripieni solo ai lati, con cannolo praticamente per lo più vuoto. Il conto è stato il colpo di grazia 241 euro in due. Questo ristorante è un enorme bluff.

03/05/2025: Veramente con grande disappunto, perché un locale dovrebbe rispondere al primo squillo mi dispiace tanto anche perché ci sono stata in passata e mi ero trovata bene quindi a questo punto devo dire che il servizio è pessimo il fatto che non si possa prenotare senza rischiare che poi magari si arriva fin là e non si trova posto

15/06/2025: An experience to forget. During an end-of-year school dinner, the owner was apparently helpful but false and unclear. Initially, she made separate tables when it was clearly stated that the table was for 25. Once this was resolved, there was a problem with the air conditioning, so these poor 25 adults and children were hosted in a room without air conditioning. Finally, she kept the 6 kg ice cream cake in a poorly functioning freezer or fridge and served it completely melted. I understand that you may have difficulties, but you must be clear from the start. Sometimes a customer returns just because you have been honest with him. For me, choosing this place was a mistake!

15/06/2025: I never write negative reviews about places because I know how difficult this job is. It's the first time I'll do it because our experience in this place was unpleasant due to the attitude of the owner who told us "yes" to everything during the reservation and then "knew nothing" of our very simple requests (such as a single table for the teachers and the students, a case of celiac disease, the agreement on the price, the requests to turn on the air conditioning, at the end the ice cream cake completely melted even though they were asked several times to put it in the freezer). We chose this place for the final dinner of the class and we were wrong. Now I know that the phrase most used by the owner: "No problem" is a sign of serious problems. If you book there and hear: "No problem", it means that you will have many.

14/07/2025: Yesterday, 07/13/2025 on Sunday, at lunchtime, we went to Tortuga based on old memories, and it was closed 😳 for us it was a disappointment. Something must have changed since the last time we were here. The restaurant's GoogleMaps schedule says open! Keep in mind, if you plan to have lunch here, you may leave hungry!

12/06/2025: The dishes that my wife and I ate today at Tortuga Ristorante Pizzeria were very good. And it was the Capriccioza salad and the Chicken meatballs in tomato sauce with pieces of bread and baked potatoes. The meatballs melted in your mouth and the tomato sauce was very good. The same with the baked potatoes. They were very well prepared. Roasted on top and soft in the middle. The Capriccioza salad prepared with fresh vegetables and eggs. Unfortunately, the rating is 4 due to the price level for such dishes. In comparison to the neighboring restaurants where we have also been, the price is poor. For the meatballs that I ate today, the price of 15 euros is too high. I also rate the atmosphere as 4 because for us the music was loud and there were only two tables occupied, so such a loudness was unnecessary. To sum up, the food was very good but we were there for the first time during our stay and we will not go back there due to the price level of these dishes offered.

05/07/2025: La pizzeria del Siciliano a Montalbano Elicona,ci ha riservato una piacevolissima sorpresa. Da tempo si racconta della presenza sul territorio di una prelibatezza gastronomica eccezionale: il tartufo nero. Personalmente so per certo che sul finire degli anni settanta venne condotto un esperimento di impianto di tartufo in diversi appezzamenti di noccioleto, dopodiché il silenzio per quasi cinquanta anni. Ed ecco la sorpresa La pizza alla montalbanese, con provola, funghi porcini e...il tartufo nero di montalbano. Bravissimo il pizzaiolo e bravo Vincenzo... Ad maiora.

17/08/2025: Coffee worth its weight in gold, half-cold €2.80, August arrives and everyone, even the people of Messina, become foreigners. I felt, to say the least, fleeced. And to think that I stop often throughout the year (or perhaps I should say "I stopped") 🙈

16/08/2025: After a day at the beach for Ferragosto, on the recommendation of some friends, we decided to stop at this bakery on our way home. We tried several products: traditional focaccia, Norma focaccia, pitoni, and arancini (both with ragù and 'nduja). Of all the products, the one that struck me the most was the arancini with 'nduja: stringy, flavorful, balanced, and truly delicious. As for the focaccia, I wasn't convinced: the dough was very biscuity, more like a biscuit than a focaccia. It also had too much tuma cheese: after just two bites, it felt heavy and cloying. The pitoni have the classic Messina dough, which I personally don't like, but I have to say the filling was good. One thing that left me perplexed was the prices, which I found quite high compared to the local average: focaccia at €15 per kilo and rustici at €2.80 each. In conclusion: I really enjoyed the arancini all'nduja, but between the focaccia and the pitoni (which I didn't like), I don't think I'd go back.

02/08/2025: Abbiamo cenato l altra sera e siamo rimasti entusiasti da questa esperienza. Personale molto gentile considerando le nostre intolleranze alimentari sia a latte e derivati ed al glutine. Pasta alle vongole da stella Michelin. Frittura spettacolare. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente considerata l alta stagione. Da consigliare a tutti i turisti qui a Vulcano

29/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo locale (La Bottega, Vulcano) e, onestamente, non ci ha lasciato nessuna impressione particolare. Un posto senza infamia e senza lode. Il cibo era discreto ma nulla che giustifichi i prezzi piuttosto pompati rispetto alle porzioni ricevute. Il coperto è davvero spropositato (7€ per due persone!), e il servizio non si è distinto né per gentilezza né per attenzione. 60€ per due grigliate di pesce che erano nella norma, 3,50€ per una bottiglia d’acqua da 75cl, e 4€ per un semplice cannolo: tutto risulta sopra le righe per ciò che viene effettivamente offerto. In zona ci sono decisamente alternative migliori, sia come qualità che come prezzi. Non lo sconsiglio in modo assoluto, ma non ci tornerei.

03/06/2025: I recently went to this Italian restaurant and, although the environment was clean, unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing, especially regarding the service. The dining room staff, made up of foreign waiters, showed evident difficulties in understanding the Italian language, making even simple communication difficult. This aspect is particularly worrying when it comes to fundamental information such as allergens or food intolerances: when I asked for clarification, no one seemed to be informed or prepared on the subject. In an era in which food safety should be a priority, I consider this a very critical point. The staff was also very rude. The cuisine overall was decent, in line with the expectations of an Italian restaurant, but not enough to compensate for such a poor service. I hope that the management invests in staff training and communication, especially to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all customers.

24/04/2025: Very unfriendly staff, expensive and coffee was the worse we ever had in sicily! To top it off, when we asked the lady at the bar for the menu she felt uncomfortable and we noticed that she removed the drinks paper from the plastic folder so we won't see the actual prices because she definitely charged us extra because we are turists
