La Maison del Pane

17/07/2024: I traveled to Messina with the aim of finding the best Messina focaccia and Maison del Pane takes number 1 without a doubt. The traditional one with anchovies left me with my mouth open due to the texture of the bread and the flavor of its ingredients. The anchovy was not hidden and allowed the flavors to mix exquisitely, the baked tomato delicious, the bread soft and spongy. The Bianca pizza unimaginably good.
The pearl in the crown was the service, they were so kind and so hospitable that, without a doubt, added a flavor rarely achieved: the taste of home.
17/07/2024: Definitely the best Messinese focaccia I tried during my stay in Messina, I would return without thinking twice, totally recommended, the staff is very friendly and their recommendations are very very good.

16/05/2024: Staying at the marina with food on board - but wanted to try the Michelin star restaurant. Drinks only - a negroni and GintonicaOO - complimented by peanuts/olives and canapés. Very nice at 30 euros.
Staff very pleasant.

22/08/2024: Sicilian rotisserie where everything is cooked strictly following authentic local recipes.
All strictly homemade, I think their arancino is a real Oscar winner!
The focaccia and rustici are also excellent!
The hospitality of Massimo and Giusy who kept us there with the explanation of the various recipes made us truly feel at home!
Recommended for those who want to taste the real Sicily.

29/07/2024: Beautiful place in Torre Faro. Everything is top quality. The owners are very kind and nice as are the girls who work there. The place is very nice and tasteful. I love that there are interesting books and art for sale. Top granita, top ice cream all produced by them, super aperitif. Don't miss it!!!

We ordered three swordfish rolls... or rather breadcrumb rolls, 😅 the taste of fish non-existent and with a strong bitter aftertaste of burnt breadcrumbs.
Obviously eaten out of hunger, but from Messisene doc rating 2.
My friend ordered the Villanazza pasta with peppers, courgettes, aubergines and cherry tomatoes..Cherry tomatoes??? Huge tomatoes on the plate, and all the vegetables seemed boiled rather than fried. So the result of the dish was the pasta on one side and the vegetables on the other... it looked like a dish you would serve during a hospital stay.
To top it off, the girl who served us very politely removed the plate and dropped the tomatoes on my son's trousers and equally politely brought us the spray and the brush to clean the stain!!!
Experience certainly NOT to be recommended!!
31/07/2024: Of the raw appetizer, only the creel shrimp should be saved. I don't understand why - in fact - they offer two menus.

Really appreciated the sweet and sour capers which were spectacular!
Little tip: In the version with the sword, do it in cubes otherwise someone will be left with too little sword.

01/07/2024: Butcher's shop with delicatessen departments (selection of typical Sicilian products, wine shop, ready-to-go meals) and delicatessen, also of its own production including the highly prized raw ham from Nebrodi black pigs. There is a very wide choice of preparations, all delicious. Courteous and competent staff. Fair prices. In here a vegetarian finds it difficult to remain one.

26/07/2024: Rarely do I come home with the desire to write a review, well this is the right time. If you are wandering in the scorching summer heat and find yourself in Lingua, your refuge is Il Delfino. In the shade of the "pinnata", refreshed by the sea breeze you will be welcomed by the elegance of Gisella and the professionalism of Giovanni. Photos are superfluous because the dishes have a unique presentation like the taste that distinguishes them, a flavor of family and affection prepared with local, quality products. A peaceful corner where you can taste one of the many wines produced on the island, a complete cellar where you can choose between Whites with a strong flavor or Reds that enhance the aromas and scents of the Territory. For many it will be a simple review, for me it is a thank you, because stopping at the Delfino even for an aperitif is already a great opportunity. Cheers beautiful people and happy holidays.

15/08/2024: Terrible service experience. We wait to eat for hours and only when we ask how far along the pizzas are, do they start preparing them. They give total priority to customers who arrived after us and to the home.
Only when ordering (after having waited a long time to order) they warn us that they are not making round pizzas today but only by the metre. The pizza wasn't bad, but nothing special. However, many at the table complained about theirs.

waiting time a little longer than usual but it will last for the evening of August.

Ero stato qui nel 2023… e sono tornato! La sapiente Veronica mi ha suggerito cosa prendere per una degustazione da solo!
Il loro Sushipizza “sushita” curiosità ed è gradevole alla vista ed al palato, sia al Salmone che ai Gamberetti!
I formaggi gustosi e piccanti, abbinati alle marmellate di limone e pesca hanno completato la mia cena, ma…
Per finire… semifreddo al caffè e la mia solita CocaZero
31/08/2024: Esperienza abbastanza sgradevole!!! Arrivati alle 21:45 in 9 persone subito si presenta la prima difficoltà per il menù di difficile interpretazione in quanto il nome di ogni pizza e loro prodotto nominato con delle date storiche e dunque per effettuare la scelta bisogna leggerlo da cima a fondo. Abbiamo ricevuto l’antipasto (misto fritto di patatine) dopo un’ora dall’ordine e ci era stato detto che veniva servito subito al tavolo! Per la seconda portata (pizze) abbiamo chiesto all’incirca i tempi e ci è stato garantito ke entro mezz’ora ci sarebbero state servite al tavolo e invece passano 50 minuti e la scusa del cameriere, abbastanza giovane e inesperto, è stata che la causa di tali ritardi è stata la mancanza di 2 ragazzi che non sono andati a lavoro in quanto dovevano andare a giocare a calcetto! Abbiamo azzardato a provare a ordinare i caffè e i dolci pero solo se i tempi erano brevi e nuovamente il cameriere ci ha garantito che i caffè ci li avrebbe portati immediatamente e invece passati 20 minuti ci alziamo abbastanza infastiditi per richiedere il conto alla cassa e non voler più caffè e lei con i caffè nel vassoio risponde con tono un po’ sgarbato “ma io i caffè ormai li ho fatti!” Prendiamo i caffè ( ed era meglio di no per il sapore disgustoso) paghiamo e spero di non mettere più piede, colpevoli i tempi di attesa 3 ore e il personale inesperto e molte prese in giro nei confronti dei clienti senza scusarsi in alcun modo! Per quanto riguarda il cibo buona qualità ma nulla di impressionante!
