01/06/2026: Before reviewing this place, we need to start with one thing: it's a trattoria, and should be treated as such. Anyone looking for a luxury restaurant should probably look elsewhere. We found a family-friendly atmosphere, simple, well-prepared food, excellent pizza, excellent local Grillo, and prices consistent with what's on offer. In a historic center full of trendy and flashy venues, here you can still breathe a genuine atmosphere made of genuine people, friendliness, and unfussy hospitality.
Warm greetings to the owners of Trattoria Romantica from the large family from the province of Rome. Thank you for your hospitality and for putting up with us until late. When an evening is pleasant, time flies... 😄🍷

05/03/2026: I'm addicted to sweets and I've had croissants in Rome, Milan, Venice and a short distance from France, but I didn't expect to find the best one in Catania at the crossroads. I've never experienced so much filling, so go for it. Here you'll pay 3.5e for one, here 1.5e or 2e depending on the tourist tax. Don't just take one because you'll be back right away anyway, so take two straight away. You'll be there again tomorrow anyway. Classic Italian coffee 🤘

We got off to a bad start as soon as we arrived. We were told we'd get everything from them, but there were no slippers and we had to buy them even though the exact size wasn't available. They gave us a size 44 when we were a size 38/39.
We were then told that access to the pool and wellness area was limited to 6 people at a time, but instead we were crammed like cattle in the sauna, almost on top of each other.
Poor hygiene, no one in the pools wore a swimming cap... Never again, high price for the service provided.

03/06/2026: The staff was friendly, but perhaps due to tiredness, they made several mistakes when taking orders, which were fixed. The wait was extremely long. The food was definitely too salty! I can understand a mistake on one course, but the same problem with multiple courses is no longer a coincidence. It's not for me and I wouldn't recommend it to others. The price is decidedly high.
01/06/2026: Poor acoustics, a deafeningly closed environment.
Only one person taking orders, imagine the waiting time and the complaints.
We ordered an aperitif and after 20 minutes it still wasn't ready.
We ordered different beers and they presented Weiss as lagers.
We enjoyed the food.
They should improve the organization/service, learn the trade.

23/04/2026: I chose Magistro to celebrate my birthday with an aperitivo, and I couldn't have made a better choice!
The food was excellent: everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and with a wide variety of options.
The drinks were also perfectly prepared, well-balanced, and truly delicious.
I absolutely recommend this place, especially for special occasions like birthdays or evenings with friends. I will definitely be back.

02/05/2026: We enjoyed our lunch at La Vecchia Botte. There is a menu available in English but the daily menu will require translation. The staff did not speak English but they were welcoming and accommodating given we didn't have a reservation or speak Italian. It was the only place we could walk to and eat on a Sunday and we were glad to have found it. Courses come out in standard Italian fashion so expect to spend some time there. We would eat there again.

Finally, a place that doesn't miss a beat. The pizza is simply delicious: light dough and top-quality ingredients.
The environment is impeccable, clean, and meticulously maintained, both inside and out, creating a truly pleasant atmosphere. Special mention goes to the background music: present but never intrusive, the volume allows for a relaxing chat.
The real surprise? The wine...delicious 🥰🥰. An excellent place just steps from home. Highly recommended!
