11/10/2025: I've been coming to Catania for work for five years, and Taverna del Grande Albero is a regular stop. First of all, I find quality and courtesy here, but above all, I feel like I'm at home. The owners have become like family to me. I GO TO FILIPPO'S, I say every time!!!! Always friendly, always hospitable, they never fail to chat with the customers, and I highly recommend it!! I've attached photos so you can fully understand my satisfaction. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the spectacular seafood appetizer!

26/02/2026: I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed by my experience at (Rinuccio). I arrived with my wife, including our two dogs, and asked if we could sit at an outdoor table, where there was no one else. The answer was a firm, "No, we don't accept pets." (I think it was a chef.) I wonder, what difference does it make if the table is outdoors? Our dogs are well-behaved and wouldn't have bothered anyone. In fact, it would have been a pleasure to have them by our side. The "we don't accept pets" excuse became increasingly ridiculous when we asked if there was an outdoor area where we could sit, and the answer was, "No, we don't have an outdoor area for dogs." But if the table is outdoors, isn't it already an outdoor area? My wife and I have decided to go elsewhere and will never return to this restaurant. If they can't accept a well-behaved dog, then they can't claim to be a welcoming and friendly restaurant. *Tip:* Don't go to this restaurant if you like to travel with your pets.

22/02/2026: Stunning location overlooking the Etna forests. Mount Etna in the background adds an extra touch. The staff is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Honorable mention for the quality of the food, especially the croquettes, the trofie with pistachio pesto, and the apple cake with orange oil. Highly recommended!

01/04/2026: Returning from an excursion to Mount Etna, we stopped for a short break in Bronte and found this pastry shop that truly lives up to its name: courtesy and kindness. I can honestly say that I've eaten the best arancini in Sicily here—a truly delicious treat filled with pistachio, cheese, and ham, served perfectly piping hot—special! Plus, a delicious pistachio gelato, served in a fresh shortcrust pastry basket and accompanied by a small glass of coffee garnished with cream and pistachio. The lemon granita was also delicious, fresh and thirst-quenching, a unique flavor experience. I recommend everyone stop by, even for a quick break, to try the specialties made at this pastry shop. 06/04/2026: Sweet and savory... there's something for everyone, and no one will be disappointed. The cafeteria, pastry shop, granitas, and gelato are second to none among the "big names" of Catania's tradition. Di Dio pastry shop is a jewel in Catania's crown.

04/04/2026: A good place with excellent value. We had scialatielli allo scoglio and linguine with clams, both excellent. The main courses were good. The restaurant is slightly out of the city center, but I would recommend it.

09/04/2026: Elegant, spacious, and welcoming location, with an outdoor area and neoclassical-style pool/fountain. Excellent for ceremonies and banquets. Friendly and helpful staff, and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. Authentic food; the Sferracavallo evening on Fridays is special, featuring everything seafood! The dishes are delicious, presented in a gourmet style, and served in just the right quantities. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner, banquets, or ceremonies. Reservations are always recommended.

I didn't like the sauce on my bruschetta with porcini mushrooms, so they replaced them, but I'd forgotten I'd ordered tagliatelle with porcini, and it was the same sauce, so... I didn't like that either. How embarrassing! And they changed that one too. I don't know of a restaurant that would have done that... Absolutely fantastic!

07/03/2026: Completely satisfied! We stumbled upon Trattoria La Piattino by chance. But it was a pleasant surprise. 10 overall: Food, hospitality, wide selection, tasteful decor! The owner and waiter were very kind, and the food was delicious. It will be our regular stop every time we come to Zafferana! ❤️

Let me start by saying something important: (I'm a very particular person) I have delicate intolerances to gluten, milk, and dairy products. I'm also extremely sensitive to flavors, textures, and balance. For me, every detail counts, for better or for worse. Precisely for this reason, I can say that the experience was intense and mindful. I perceived study, research, respect for the ingredients, and great care in adapting the menu to my dietary needs without making me feel "limited," but rather valued. The dishes were elegant, balanced, and never overdone. Each course had a clear identity and a coherence of flavors that I deeply appreciated. I was able to savor every bite carefully, without feeling overwhelmed or compromised. The service was attentive, professional, and never intrusive. You could sense a young but highly trained team with a clear vision. Overall, I was very satisfied. Sapio represents a wonderful level of dining for Catania, and I encourage the team to continue on this path! They are offering high-quality service, with personality and character. Well done!
