29/03/2025: We had dinner with my husband, who is celiac but has no contamination problems. We had the pleasure of meeting these 3 splendid women, sisters, entrepreneurs and daughters of art. They welcomed us with kindness and professionalism but also with a great capacity for authentic human relationships which goes beyond the profession and which can only be the result of innate abilities. The late hour at which they welcomed us allowed us to be together and listen to the history of the place, of our grandmother, the first founder in 1938, then of our father and mother and finally their choice between quality, experience, respect and innovation. The excellent quality of the raw materials and the truly tasty and well-constructed recipes. Excellent wine pairing. We had an octopus in a bed of broad beans, a first course of clams and artichokes and a nice tiramisu, all perfectly presented and of great taste with balanced and tasty land-fish combinations. Highly recommended and for us certainly to repeat even just for the pleasure of seeing Rossella, Liz and Stefania again.

26/03/2025: Restaurant with a beautiful view of the beaches, Taormina, Mount Etna and everything else that this beautiful nature has to offer. The food is tasty, but very touristy. The restaurant has 3 floors and also has outdoor areas. We ordered fried squid, shrimp and potatoes for 16 euros. We also ordered penne with pesto sauce and bacon for 13 euros. The dishes were good, but nothing special. The presentation was average and the flavor was good. A Nero davola antichi vinai - siciare di esti wine (28 euros) to accompany the meal. The service was perfect. The prices were better than in Taormina, in general.

27/12/2024: If you’re looking for a unique experience during your travels to Agrigento you have come to the right place. Patrizia and Luigi, a beautiful husband and wife duo made us feel right at home and even made sure to have a translator present just in case there was a language barrier. All three were divine individuals who welcomed us, quite literally, with open arms. We made this unique stop on our honeymoon, as my roots are from Racalmuto, not far from Agrigento. We wanted to experience true Sicilian home cooked food, as my nonna would have made it. The food was delicious and authentic, each dish came with a detailed explanation of how it was made and where it derived. 08/04/2025: We have been in Sicily for a week. This is without a shadow of a doubt the best food we have had. If you hadn’t planned on passing through Caltavuturo… change your itinerary so that you can come to Alter Ego. We are a party of four, and from the crostini through our entries through the desert … each dish made my eyes roll back in my head. By the time we got to desert we just told him to bring us whatever he thought and we were not disappointed. They make their own mustard even. Incredible. You cannot go wrong on the menu. We were going to cook a fair bit… but why when this is here. We’ll be back tomorrow.

03/03/2025: We found this restaurant by chance and came without a reservation. Nevertheless, after a short wait we got a table on the terrace. Lots of plates of appetizers and very tasty pasta. Very good service. And even though we didn't know a word of Italian, the hosts were very patient and served us in the best possible way. Clear recommendation, thank you very much!

03/01/2025: A top pizzeria service! Here we ate the best pizza in all of Sicily so far. The dough is perfect and a special taste experience! The calzone was also a delight. What we noticed immediately was that the location was exceptionally clean. The operators were very friendly without being intrusive. Thank you very much and keep it up.
