28/11/2025: We just enjoyed an amazing (Thanksgiving night) meal in the lovely city of Stresa, Italy. Just a few minutes walk from our room, we found Ristorante Lo Stornello, the perfect choice. We started with 1. Piedmontese beef tartare with hazelnut cream and local cheese fondue 2. Potato gnocchi scented with porcini mushrooms, veal reduction, pumpkin, mountain pine powder and Vigezzo Valley pancetta 3. Veal loin cooked at low temperature and sautéed in aromatic butter, lard-based condiment with parsley, smoked potatoes gratinated with Bettelmatt cheese 4. Semifreddo forest bianca with white chocolate, fresh currants, raspberries, blackberries and gooseberries 5. A beautiful bottle of Barbera d'Asti Montebruna Braida Thank you Chef Cesare, Gabriel and Alberto for the stunning meal and amazing service

30/11/2025: We dined here as a couple and recommend the cured meats and cheese appetizer and the desserts, but we wouldn't order the pork cheek again. Overall, a positive experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We recommend this restaurant!

09/10/2025: Very fair prices, friendly service, and delicious, typical Italian dishes like homemade lasagna, gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella, and pizza. There's also a small children's menu. The outdoor area is huge. I'm pleasantly surprised!

08/11/2025: We were wondering where to eat in the off-season, and this place ended up being perfect for our family. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine, the pasta and pizza were delicious, and the Crema di Amaretto was the unforgettable highlight. Would absolutely recommend.

03/12/2025: The service is too slow for a lunch break (even though they have workers' lunch), sometimes the menu is good, sometimes it's inedible... The staff isn't always alert and competent, and it's not normal to take orders from tables that arrive later... a matter of respect. It's not normal to wait 30 minutes between courses even though they take the full order... Many compliments, however, to the Chinese girl (I don't mean to offend, but I don't know her name) who turns the tables quickly and efficiently. When she's not there, it's a tragedy. I've tried several times to give them a chance, but I've been disappointed too many times... I hope you'll improve.

10/11/2025: On a beautiful sunny day in November, while taking a dinghy trip to Lake Maggiore, I decided to have lunch at the Antica Osteria Il Monte Rosso in the hamlet of Suna, Verbania, right on the lakefront. The restaurant is very nice, clean, and tidy. We opted for the 18-euro set menu, which includes a small appetizer, a first course, a second course with a side dish, and fruit or dessert. For the first course, we had salmon risotto and orecchiette with anchovies and turnip tops. For the second course, pumpkin tart with fondue and roast turkey with mashed potatoes. To finish, we had the cake of the day and pineapple for fruit. Everything was truly delicious. The staff was extremely professional and prompt, even with their explanations.

10/10/2025: Unacceptable and rude treatment!! We were three adults and arrived at 9 pm on a Friday... with a concert going on just a few meters away... with the intention of having dinner and a drink. It doesn't seem like a late hour to me, especially in a restaurant located in a tourist area. As soon as we entered, we were immediately asked to leave by a waiter (the one in the photo), who rudely told us that if we wanted something "small" to eat, we had to go to the other bar, because we couldn't stay there. We simply looked at the menu, and he repeated the same phrase several times without any kindness or courtesy. This attitude seemed disrespectful and unprofessional. An evening ruined by service that was decidedly below expectations. I do not recommend this restaurant.

09/12/2025: The restaurant isn't very large, but it's welcoming, with extremely professional and attentive staff. The food is excellent, from appetizers to dessert, carefully prepared with fresh ingredients. We discovered La Cantina while strolling around Alberobello, and it was a delightful discovery. We'll definitely be back, and I recommend trying all of Chef Francesco's delicious creations! If we have fond memories of our day in Alberobello, it's also thanks to La Cantina! 😊😊
