22/04/2026: Excellent food. We've been there before and are coming back again tomorrow. The appetizers, as everyone else has said, were wonderful. The pizzas have high-quality toppings and are also excellent – highly recommended.

13/04/2026: The service was very friendly and attentive. The daily special was inexpensive and tasty, albeit rather simple.
However, the food overall was rather bland and, apart from the daily special, quite expensive for its quality.
The decor in the back room is a matter of taste, but definitely has a concept. It was quite cold, and since the staff needed the space as a passageway to the dining room, it felt more like a hallway than a pleasant room.
The Michelin stars are probably a thing of the past; the last one was awarded seven years ago...

02/05/2026: I'm sorry to leave a less than entirely positive review, because the place definitely has potential.
Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to expectations: we waited about 20 minutes to order, despite there being only a few tables occupied. (6) After we requested it, a young waitress came over and seemed a bit tired, or perhaps a little annoyed.
We ordered two orange juices, which were good and plentiful, but the service seemed a bit rushed and inattentive. (They threw the glasses on the table like that...)
I'm sure that with a little more care and attention to the customer, the experience could be significantly improved, because the place deserves it.

Ristorante La Ripa

17/04/2026: Fantastic stay at Auberge La Ripa! A warm welcome, even though it was late. The room had a view of the lake and the Borromean Islands, which wasn't originally planned. A truly lovely room, and a generous and complete breakfast.

12/04/2026: We stayed with our dog over the Easter weekend at this beautiful hotel, just steps from the center of Baveno. It retains all its early 1900s charm with period furniture.
The tastefully furnished rooms feature balconies overlooking the internal garden and a splendid view of the Borromean Islands. The hotel has a lovely garden with a terrace equipped with tables and umbrellas overlooking the private beach below. What more can I say? It's beautiful. Mrs. Paola is a wonderful hostess, very kind and helpful, and upon our arrival she unexpectedly upgraded our room to a larger one with a lake view. I hope to return soon.

19/09/2025: A somewhat dated hotel with very good service. Everything was nice and clean. Our room (54) had a spectacular view of the Borromean Islands. Sunrise.
05/09/2025: We stayed at this truly beautiful hotel for five nights in August. The room was right on the lake, and the view was priceless! The hotel is family-run, and it shows! If you're looking for a quiet hotel with lots of love, a romantic balcony overlooking Lake Maggiore and the two islands of Isola Bella and Isola Madre, you absolutely have to book a room here!

08/04/2026: I was in Baveno on vacation, and I went to this bar for breakfast. It's a lovely place just steps from the lake. The staff are very friendly, kind, and welcoming. They have fresh, delicious products, including brioches with a variety of fillings, and delicious coffee and cappuccino. I went back for lunch and had a sandwich with prosciutto, salad, tomato, and mozzarella, generously filled, and fresh bread. I had a great time, and I'll definitely return if I have the chance. I highly recommend it.
05/04/2026: I stumbled upon this café thanks to a weekend on Lake Maggiore. The staff is really kind and helpful (even offering helpful directions), the sandwiches are excellent, as are the brioches (I had a pistachio one that was super filling). The coffee is also very good. It will definitely be a go-to place next time I'm in the area! Thanks!

17/04/2026: For the price, I expected more, both from the food and the service. The staff was unprofessional, the fish was dry, the coffee undrinkable, the children's portion of pasta meager, and the tiramisu wasn't a real tiramisu. The only positives were the generous wine glass and the view. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
17/04/2026: A restaurant I wouldn't recommend. I ordered trout that was dry. The tiramisu was awful, and the waiters were clearly untrained. The only nice thing was the view from the terrace.

03/05/2026: Amazing pizza this one is with aged prosciutto and burrata ♥️😻 the owner was extremely kind and the Argentinian waiter the best! We came without reservation and despite they were full they found the way to accommodate a nice table!! Prices are good for the quality of service and food!
03/05/2026: We had a lakeside pizza that wasn't bad, but the wait was a bit long (it was the evening of Friday, May 1st). It was a shame about the dessert, "Japanese cream caramel cheesecake," because it had nothing Japanese or cheesecake-like about it: it was a simple cream caramel (which was also good), but it's better to write it down directly without raising false expectations. Service was average.

Great credit to the highly trained and efficient staff, especially the maitre d' who served us.
27/10/2025: Had dinner our first evening in Baveno…we were staying at the Hotel Dino for a conference. My daughter and I didn’t have high expectations but were rather prioritizing the convenience!
We were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted and had immediate service. It was quiet as it was early by European dining standards at 7pm but over the course of our dinner filled in.
We had an attentive and yummy experience. We ended the evening with their delicious tiramisu…we would return our final evening to have this dessert again!

24/04/2026: They don't know how to organize anything and can't calculate the capacity of the place. The bodyguard was very rude and pushed everyone around, causing several people to fall. I will never go to a party at the Sporting Club again.
19/04/2026: They organized my wedding reception fantastically. The tables with comfortable chairs were set up lakeside with a breathtaking view for aperitifs. Lunch under the gazebo was excellent. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. After the cake cutting lakeside, the venue was transformed into a welcoming ballroom with lights and music, as well as the volume, chosen by us. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a special venue for receptions and parties where the service, food, and price are all top notch. Thank you, Stefano, for making my wedding a fairytale.

25/09/2025: We ate inside due to bad weather. The food was ok, but was the worst meal we had in the town. The outside area beside the lake would be a lovely setting to eat by, but there are better places to eat
