14/07/2025: Very friendly, typical and above all very well-equipped little town! I would like to give a huge thumbs up for having made bins available almost everywhere, which fortunately forces tourists to respect them! I was afraid of walking around the lake and I must say that I was surprisingly surprised by the facilities!!!! Tourists are spoiled! The little tourist train, nice! And above all very practical! The island to visit, a haven of peace!!! Very quick crossing by small boat, with very friendly and attentive staff. Small downside.... There are many restaurants, menus and drinks that are decent, but from the start and automatically we are spoken to in English, whereas it would be more pleasant in Italian!!!!

02/09/2025: I ordered a delicious Piedmontese appetizer platter. It was generously filled with local cheeses and meats. We enjoyed the terrace seating, and the service was truly passionate about the food.

31/08/2025: We went for an aperitif. After eating two bites of cured meats, we found a half-dead fly under the slices of the remaining cured meat. Leaving aside the lack of attention paid to preparing a small platter, when we pointed out the find to the waiter (a middle-aged man with white/gray hair and a long beard), he responded by claiming that flies were there, implying that we had let it land under the layers of cured meats and breadsticks. Even more annoying and unprofessional, he said, "What am I supposed to do now?" in a blunt and direct manner. We kept our tone polite and didn't say anything, shocked by the rude treatment. Obviously, who would let a fly land near their plate? He took our plate away, saying, "Flies fly anyway" (yes, of course, but the one on the plate didn't; it was half suffocated by the food!) and brought a new one, much more paltry: four slices of salami, a few breadsticks, and two slices of cheese. The message has been conveyed: since it's your fault, we'll punish you like this. An apology isn't even a thought. The bill has to be paid as if we'd just had a normal aperitivo. This place, with so many customers unaware of the treatment they deserve, can afford to be insolent and careless, and it'll still charge you. That's why I recommend all the other places (any one is fine, because we've tried them all) near this establishment, which are worth the trip and the trust. Moral: flies fly, some ignoramuses stay.

03/09/2025: We had an excellent meal at this little restaurant. The produce was fresh, the wine was excellent, and the waitresses were very friendly and made the effort to speak to us in French. I highly recommend this restaurant.

01/09/2025: We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our dinner here. We only went because the restaurant we intended to go to was not open as advetised. The service was excellent, no problems with us sharing a first plate. Extra points for bread so fresh the waitress had to warn us it was still hot (and the use of "natural yeast" was impressive). At first we were concerned that the dishes were too unusual, but everything worked well together. It's situated up an alley, so the ambiance is not as impressive as other places nearby, but the meal was very satisfying.

08/09/2025: Very friendly staff, excellent value for money, and a nice, shady location. While you don't have a view of the lake and occasionally a car passes by, you're still in the middle of "life." We like that and would therefore give it 4 stars for ambiance, but probably not everyone would. Sharing a pizza, for example, is no problem either. Fritto misto and the daily specials sound pretty good, but we didn't try them.

03/09/2025: I wanted a cappuccino with soy milk, but unfortunately they don't have anything like that. Not having soy milk or an alternative these days is very strange! And it says a lot about a place 🫣

21/08/2025: The mozzarella tomato is a tasteless tomato that's been left in the fridge for too long, and the mozzarella isn't bad, but it's still the worst I've eaten in Italy. In winter, I've eaten better mozzarella tomatoes from supermarkets. Avoid them.
