27/02/2025: Piedmont, motorsport, art and slow food - an exceptional restaurant The Montecarlo restaurant, inconspicuous from the street, is located on a country road outside Tortona. The family business has been run by the third generation since 1915. The traditional recipes and use of local products are passed down from generation to generation. Because of the zero-kilometer kitchen philosophy and product quality, Montecarlo is recommended by Slow Food Italia year after year. No matter how inconspicuous the restaurant appears from the street, the more the guest is surprised when they enter it. The ambience is a colorful museum-like mix of the modern history of the Colli Tortonesi. Racing motorcycles, engine parts, trophies and helmets pay homage to the local heroes alongside many photos - but also a current autograph of the winner of this year's 24-hour Le Mans race, Alessandro Pier Guidi (Ferrari), from Tortona, clearly adorns a wall of the colorful restaurant. Another hero is the most famous Italian racing cyclist Fausto Coppi, who chose the hills around Tortona as his training area. The well-known painter Aldo Gentilini designed some of the walls with his cubist paintings. Another eye-catcher is a huge mural depicting an iconic photo of Fausto Coppi and his opponent Gino Bartali during the 1952 Tour de France - a historic photo of the Italian cycling legend who is still revered in Piedmont today. It's no wonder that with so many visual impressions, the Monte Carlo's kitchen fades into the background - but that's not justified. Because here is another place where straightforward Piedmontese regional cuisine is traditionally and freshly prepared. We had baked porcini mushrooms and fettuccine with beans and pecorino as primi. Plus a Sfera red wine from the Vigneti Repetto winery, our hosts at the time, who produce a very nice Barbera. Our secondi were wonderful low-temperature cooked veal cheeks in a fantastically rich red wine sauce and creamy mashed potatoes and grilled octopus with mashed potatoes and peas. The dessert was also a perfectly prepared regional classic: Volpedo peaches in muscat aspic - aromatic, fruity and wonderfully refreshing when well chilled. In the end, it's really hard for us to describe what we liked best about the Montecarlo.

26/11/2024: Dopo una domenica pomeriggio passata al freddo causa sciopero dei mezzi pubblici, di ritorno in Liguria da Alessandria, siamo capitati alla Pizzeria Osteria Due Elfi. Nonostante l'orario (ore 22) siamo stati accolti cordialmente (alla faccia di un altro locale che aveva già chiuso il forno alle 21.45!) e ci sono state servite ottime pizze e ottimi dolci, il tutto a un prezzo ragionevole. Locale carino e ottimo per una serata informale e cordiale.

18/02/2025: Sono venuto un paio di volte per pranzo. Pizza ed insalatone buone, servizio così così. La prima volta bene, la seconda invece una cameriera mi ha fatto sentire a disagio per aver chiesto il pane 2 volte...

07/01/2025: Ero un po' indeciso su dove festeggiare per la Fine e l'Inizio dell'anno Nuovo. Degli amici mi hanno consigliato questo agriturismo, dove si può anche dormire, appena fuori da Novi Ligure. Ho trovato l'ambiente molto familiare e caldo, una cucina abbondante nella scelta e nella qualità, con buona parte dei prodotti loro, accompagnati da un vino "vero", quello di un tempo,e anche con sapori che mi riportano all'infanzia. Dalla bagnacauda tra gli antipasti, al risotto al gavi tra i primi e lo zampone con lenticchie tra i secondi. Per poi chiudere con dolci, caffè e un'ottima grappa. Grazie per la bella serata.

06/01/2025: Siamo stati a cena a capodanno e ci siamo trovati molto bene. Tutto perfetto, dall'antipasto al dolce. Cibo di altissima qualità fatto con prodotti genuini e tipici della zona. Per iniziare, abbiamo presso un succulento flan di verdure con bagnacauda e cestini di pasta matta con funghi e fonduta, meravigliosi! Il risotto al Gavi ed i ravioli di magro al sugo di noci sono stati spaziali! Diamo anche una menzione speciale al Brasato con verdure e al Cotechino con le lenticchie! Stupendi! Per concludere, abbiamo fatto un'ottima scelta! Un Pandolce genovese basso con zabaione al passito e uno stupendo Semifreddo alla nocciola e amaretti. Complimenti! È stata una bellissima esperienza. Ci torneremo, sicuramente ! Peccato che non si possano dare più di 5 stelle.

08/12/2024: Fantastic place, immersed in the heart of Paderna, in the premises of the old soms, I think. Tranquility, excellent fish-based menu, impeccable service, perfect dishes. I was here for dinner and will be back soon because I had a great time. Very honest price for excellent quality.

09/02/2025: As always, at the top. The staff is very friendly. Diego is the best. They remember me and every time I'm in Cuneo, if I have time, I always go to this bar. Just drink a coffee and eat a croissant. I RECOMMEND!!!

01/02/2025: I have had croissants and chocolate several times, they always arrived promptly and perfect, chocolate with delicious cream and perfect croissants. Nice environment especially the outside one. The waitresses/sales assistants were in a bit of a bad mood when I went there the other day but they are usually not exactly cheerful but with a smile at least.

01/01/2025: Good pizzeria, with classic pizza, there is also a cuisine that sometimes leaves something to be desired, the last time I had spaghetti with seafood and it was spaghetti with oil and shellfish put in I would say one 🌟....

01/02/2025: Siamo stati al goblin per un pranzo in famiglia, tre menù degustazione di mare. Gli antipasti molto gustosi, i primi buoni ( qualcuno meglio di altri) la grigliata di pesce e la taglia di tonno davvero ottimi. Il prezzo è conveniente, 47 euro esclusi acqua e caffè. Ci sta, il problema è stato l'aggiunta di 2.50 euro per il coperto: non tanto per il prezzo ( comunque alto trattandosi di un servizio da osteria, non vengono mica cambiate le posate ogni portate), quanto per il fatto che questa cosa non era indicata e da sempre è ovunque quando si tratta di menù con un costo fisso il coperto è incluso. Un consiglio... specificatelo nel menù altrimenti le persone potrebbero sentirsi prese in giro.

30/01/2025: Che dire..??!? Sovente mi fermo per cena tornando da lavoro di solito intorno le 20.30 /21. Posso dire che l'accoglienza e di casa ,ogni volta che vengo qui mi sento a caso,Aldo e il suo staff sono persone dai molto cordiali e gentili, oltre che a sapervi deliziare fagendoti assaggiare e proporre sempre nuove pietanze .. anche a me che sono un po schizzinoso su ciò che nn conosco... ad ogni modo è il posto giusto; sia per una cena tra amici che per un qualcosa di più formale tipo un pranzo di lavoro... Sono ottimi sia la carne che il pesce oltre ai salumi e i formaggi... consiglio a tutti... 5 stelle ✨

03/02/2025: Large structure on the outskirts of seventh, quiet, informal place a little isolated and this is the beauty of it, you can eat excellent appetizers of cured meats, ravioli of their own production, very good grilled meat accompanied by vegetables, slightly slow service, it was very full, perhaps some waiters were missing bulk wine good but €18 per liter is a little over coffee worth reviewing huge private car park adjacent to the structure
