10/10/2025: Unacceptable and rude treatment!! We were three adults and arrived at 9 pm on a Friday... with a concert going on just a few meters away... with the intention of having dinner and a drink. It doesn't seem like a late hour to me, especially in a restaurant located in a tourist area. As soon as we entered, we were immediately asked to leave by a waiter (the one in the photo), who rudely told us that if we wanted something "small" to eat, we had to go to the other bar, because we couldn't stay there. We simply looked at the menu, and he repeated the same phrase several times without any kindness or courtesy. This attitude seemed disrespectful and unprofessional. An evening ruined by service that was decidedly below expectations. I do not recommend this restaurant.

26/08/2025: I ate lunch here with my grandparents. Excellent food. Fast service, but they initially lost my grandmother's order. However, they apologized and everything was back to normal. The atmosphere is nice, although some tables are directly affected by the air conditioning.

07/10/2025: I stumbled upon this place by chance, which was on my way home one Sunday at lunchtime, and I couldn't have found a better location! The aroma wafting from the convenient parking lot already enticed you in, and the welcome and kindness of the entire staff complemented an unforgettable lunch (pasta with wild boar ragù and fried mushrooms!), accompanied by a single glass (I had to drive, alas) of the house red, which was actually an excellent Dolcetto di Ovada! The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed, and even the coffee was delicious... Congratulations and thank you for the exquisite experience!

07/10/2025: I've tried several plin with roast beef sauce, but I've rarely had anything this good. The chef didn't mess up a single flavor in the traditional tasting menu. Prices are in line with other restaurants in the area (near the city center), but when you leave feeling so satisfied, you won't even look at the receipt. Discovered by chance with friends, I'll definitely be back.

05/10/2025: We weren't familiar with the place and were inspired by the excellent reviews, which turned out to be true. The food and ingredients were excellent, the value for money was well-balanced, and the Piedmontese tradition was respected with the chef's personal touch. The service was attentive and pleasant.

06/09/2025: We stayed at this hotel for six nights. There are several points to mention in this review. First, the beds are appalling. In a double room, we found a metal bedstead with a wooden plank over it. The slightest movement made an insane noise, making it difficult to sleep at night. Furthermore, having installed two single mattresses, they shifted during the night, often resulting in a person being sandwiched between them. The hotel website states that "all" rooms have a balcony/terrace, but this is not the case. The hotel does not have an elevator, so elderly people or those with mobility issues had great difficulty climbing the stairs to their rooms. There's little choice for breakfast, as it's not a buffet. Otherwise, you'd find an empty croissant per person (I think they made it themselves), a small piece of cake or tart they made (I think), and some toast with packaged jams of your choice. Then you can choose a drink from the bar (coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, etc.). There's no choice for a savory or healthier breakfast. The portions at lunch and dinner are very generous, with many good dishes, but for those staying at the hotel for several days, things get boring because the dishes are always the same (green tagliolini with mushrooms, braised meat that was offered every day for both lunch and dinner, cooked vegetables always peas with carrots, green beans, and sometimes potatoes, and so on, but always the same dishes). If you asked for a simple salad because you no longer wanted the same dishes, it wasn't available. Basically, there was no option to have any fresh vegetables (side dishes) or to order fruit (there wasn't even watermelon, no fruit at all). Being a property that claims to be pet-friendly, I would have expected at least a small dog area (fenced off) where you could maybe stay when you're not out and about with your dog (there is enough space in front of the hotel to offer such an area). Some finishing touches are definitely missing (hair dryer, hangers in the bathroom, a shower gel holder inside the shower stall). Some rooms don't even have a closet and have a simple A metal structure covered with a DIY-style plastic sheet. They don't even have a small table or desk to place small appliances. The hotel offers a beautiful view, and there are lovely trails nearby for walking through the woods. Given our experience with the rooms, I honestly don't know if we'd return, as we didn't sleep well due to the uncomfortable bed. It's a shame, because they could offer an excellent choice given their convenient location.

26/08/2025: Price out of proportion to service and quality Spending €330 for two nights, eating there because I was sick, is mind-blowing. Not to mention that, since I was sick in bed, THEY COULDN'T RE-MAKE UP THE ROOM. I didn't eat anything for lunch, and for two days I ate either a first course or a second course for each meal. I ate ice cream for a sore throat, which was billed as extra. Why did we stay? Because even though I was sick, they would have charged me anyway. Of course, it's legal, but out of humanity, they could have found a compromise. We'll return to the country, which is wonderful, but I'll never stay in places that don't care about those who get sick; getting sick isn't a choice. An amicable solution could have been found: for example, paying and coming back another day. Nothing We love mountain locations, the forest, home cooking, the simple cuisine, which we always found in the area. We love good, home-cooked food, but here the food tastes the same, and the price is outrageous for what's offered. Precisely because we've stayed in 4-star hotels, we can make the comparison that the price isn't right. No one asked for room service, but if I'm so sick I can't get out of bed, what could I do? My husband brought everything, after insisting with the owner that she didn't want us to eat in the room. We'll be staying in the mountains, far from room service and this place. Before you come, make sure you don't get sick, even with small children, and discuss what to do if you or one of your children gets sick when you book. The lady responded by emphasizing that we're 5-star people who demanded room service: we're two normal people who live on their salaries and love simplicity. We didn't want room service; I wanted to eat something while fighting a common illness. It doesn't matter to us, but we want to let you know.

26/08/2025: What a great restaurant, run by the loveliest family. Outside you enjoy a typical Piedmont view, and inside you sit in a charming old ruin. The family is truly exceptional – wonderful cooking, warm hospitality and great advice on both wine and food. We stayed in the Castello next to the restaurant and were lucky enough to eat here three times. We look back on it with great joy. Grazie!

21/06/2025: È stata una cena squisita sulla terrazza con vista. Siamo partiti da un antipasto leggero di pesce (fettine di spada e tonno) e tortino di melanzane, per passare ai primi dal gusto delicato (gnocchetti e ravioli), a seguire i secondi di carne (brasato e agnello) ma anche il salmone in crosta di sesamo. Abbiamo concluso il tutto con dei desserts ottimi. Il tutto accompagnato da un buonissimo barbera e dalla cortesia e simpatia del proprietario. L'impiattamento molto elegante ci ha permesso di assaporare il cibo dedicandogli il giusto tempo.

24/08/2025: I came here for the occasion of the red night evening, waiting for the vuelta. On the sign outside we see the menu for bruschetta and crema catalana. We paid at 8:28 pm and the order was delivered after a 45-minute wait. Inside there were 3 occupied tables and outside 2 occupied tables who arrived after our order. Despite this, they were served before us, even though we had 3 portions of bruschetta and 2 crema catalana. However, despite the unpleasant wait, the bruschetta arrived cold and the ones with garlic cream were inedible. Even Dracula would have fainted in half a second. The taste of the potatoes and sausage was not perceptible. I'm sorry but the experience was truly awful. I don't think I'll eat there again in the future. The waiters were kind despite everything.

07/10/2025: This is actually Il Cacciatore restaurant. An excellent dinner featuring raboton with fondue, pizzoccheri alla Valtellinese, and sliced ​​beef with porcini mushrooms and crema catalana. Quality ingredients, generous portions, and fast, courteous service. Highly recommended.

05/10/2025: We were hungry and got off the highway and found a beautiful family pub where we were pleasantly surprised by good food and friendly service. The meals here are at normal prices 15-20€ per person. The meals are large and the taste of the meals is indescribable. Orgasm in the mouth dessert bomb!!!!! They recommend it to everyone!!!! Oh and they have a lot of dishes with mushrooms yummy 😋

20/10/2025: A pleasant discovery! The restaurant can only be reached on foot, but thanks to Google Maps, we had no difficulty finding it. The menu is set, no à la carte. An excellent appetizer, two first courses, and a second course with numerous side dishes. Drinks and desserts are also included (which is not always the case). The food is delicious! Top-notch. The quaint restaurant is full of charm, and the panoramic terrace is the icing on the cake! 10 out of 10
