21/10/2025: Exceptional dishes that you absolutely must try

21/10/2025: A few kilometers from Stradella, nestled among vineyards, lies La Casa dei Nonni, a typical Oltrepò Pavese farmhouse where local produce and those from the garden take center stage. We visited on Sunday for lunch, a day when they offer a fixed menu for €40, including mixed appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, dessert, water, wine, and coffee (except for liqueurs and premium wines). A truly fair price, not only for the quantity—the portions are more than generous—but above all for the quality of the dishes. The appetizers were excellent, especially the local cured meats, which I had little hesitation about given how good the coppa and salami from the hills are. The first courses deserve special praise, especially the braised beef ravioli with braised beef sauce, a signature dish of the Oltrepò, which here far exceeded expectations. The main courses were good, although a step down from the previous ones: the duck, which I had counted on, I found a bit dry, while the roast pork neck with herbs was decidedly more convincing. The desserts, all homemade, were a wonderful discovery. I tried the must pudding, recommended by the very kind waitress: a perfect choice! I don't like overly sweet flavors, yet this dessert was so balanced and delicious that I would have ordered another. The red wine included in the menu, from local wineries, was very good and of high quality, and went down like water. The service was courteous and cheerful. Perhaps a little too quick in the succession of courses, but nothing that detracted from the experience. In conclusion, La casa dei nonni is a little corner of authenticity and flavors at the gateway to the Oltrepò Pavese, perfect for those who want to savor a bit of tradition. Highly recommended!

07/10/2025: Local restaurant with excellent and affordable pizzas. Good service as well. Pizza was delicious, baked in oven wood I would recommend the special one "speciale". Large, thin and crispy. Very reasonable priced a quiet atmosphere but was surprisingly busy for a Monday night at 9pm.

30/09/2025: I don't know how many times I've been to Barbesina over the years, through my work. I've photographed many weddings, baptisms, and parties, and I know the place very well. Surrounded by nature, with a staff that I'd say is nothing short of exceptional. Helpful, kind, and top-notch, as was the food.

18/10/2025: Very nice and welcoming place, the staff is kind and polite! The food is very good and the portions are generous. I recommend the risotto with sausage and Bonarda, the donkey stew, and the house-made ravioli! The tiramisu is truly divine, with perfectly balanced flavors. Excellent value for money, we'll be back!

03/11/2025: I'm sorry to give such a low rating because the food is very good, with generous portions and reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The waiter wasn't capable of managing a table of 15-20 people and immediately showed signs of being unhelpful, starting to pressure us from the very first minutes (by making a gesture of checking his watch). We couldn't have house wine except in glasses, or water except in 500ml bottles. When we asked for a wine list to choose from, the response was "I don't have any, I'll tell you." One dish was wrong, and despite reporting it, the correct one never arrived. A bottle of wine was returned due to a strange taste (which wasn't present in the others), and again, the waiter made faces at us, refusing to accept our opinion. A small mention of merit goes to some colleagues who were helpful in asking us if everything was okay. A terrible experience.

03/11/2025: Let's say 2.5 stars... An ancient and charming inn from the late 19th century, located in the historic center of Pavia, right next to the city's cathedral. Entering the restaurant feels like entering another dimension: tables and furnishings from times gone by, but at the same time, right next to the entrance door, there's a pinball machine... the question naturally arises: what the hell does it have to do with that place?... uh... Then, entering the two small rooms—one on the ground floor, the other on the first floor—you feel like you're entering a flea market, where you can find all those knick-knacks from days gone by; it's certainly a way of showing off the fact that this is a historic inn. But, alas, too much can be bad, especially all those dusty glass chandeliers dangling above your head... maybe not? The food, however, isn't bad, even if it's nothing special, and the staff is friendly and polite, if a bit aloof...let's just say the experience was definitely not a "wow!" experience. Anyway, we ordered an appetizer, a first course, a second course, and a dessert, with a bottle of water and three glasses of wine, and we spent more than €81. Not exactly a bargain, let's just say...

09/11/2025: The atmosphere is deliberately spartan. The best pizza in Voghera and the surrounding area by far, perhaps among the best I've ever eaten. An original selection of German beers.

17/10/2025: The pizza is light, but nothing special; you can eat two to be full. The desserts are good, made in small quantities. A special mention for the super-fast service.

01/08/2025: When I order pizza, I always get it here: wide selection, almost always on-time delivery, and delicious pizzas. They give one free for every ten orders. Average prices.

16/06/2025: Il cibo era molto buono ma servito senza una sosta tra una portata e l'altra. Abbiamo sofferto tantissimo il caldo asfissiante e l'acqua servita era sempre calda...

16/06/2025: Pranzo di domenica 15/06. Festa compleanno in 12 tutti strasoddisfatti della qualità del menù fisso (non c’è menù alla carta). Classica proposta Pavese ma qualitativamente sorprendente. Prezzo veramente ottimo e veramente tutto compreso anche vini in bottiglia di loro produzione “senza contare le bottiglie portate…” Tra l’altro ci hanno cambiato tavolo al volo per metterci in una sala dove c’era aria condizionata risolvendoci un problema sorto all’ultimo, veramente gentilissimi. Ambiente carinissimo tra tavoli esterni e interni in varie sale e salette, adatto a chiunque voglia condividere il convivio un po’ chiassoso ed allegro Tutto gestito in vero ambiente famigliare. 12/10/2025: Good morning, I was there last night to listen to the JAM Ah Group!!!! Whom I thank so much for the wonderful evening!!!!!!!! THANK YOU JAM!!!!!! And of course also the owners of Posteria I Sabbioni!!! 🙏🙏 I've never been here I have to say Very Very Beautiful!!!!...I recommend it to everyone.... Here's a tip that I feel is necessary for anyone planning to go. We recommend going after 8:00 pm for dinner and for lunch ask for information at the restaurant due to ACTIVE CAMERAS, I believe the ZTL (limited traffic zone).
