22/03/2026: The only shame is that on a table for eight, the seven who ordered pizza had time to finish it before they brought the spaghetti to the eighth person. Otherwise, everything was fine, an atmosphere you wouldn't imagine from the outside.

10/03/2026: A classic reception restaurant that has adapted and reinvented itself. The food is good, and the selection is extensive for a fixed-price menu. The pasta was a little overcooked, but the staff is friendly and helpful. Ample parking is available.

They have excellent fish, meat, and veggies, plus top-notch beers! The staff is friendly and professional. Fair prices for the superior quality offered!

21/03/2026: Average pizza, even good, but you can't call and order five takeaways at 7:30 PM for 8:15 PM, and then after more than 40 minutes have the waiter who handles the orders tell you, "I'm not capable of performing magic." When you're the first one to "perform magic" by letting all the customers who clearly arrived later go by! At this point, they simply won't accept reservations over the phone. I absolutely don't recommend it! Go somewhere else if you don't have a sit-down dinner or if you need more than two pizzas. Wait for four pizzas: 50 minutes.

27/03/2026: Our experience with Villa Cipressi in Varenna was unfortunately disappointing – especially regarding transparency and pricing. We had originally planned to have our civil wedding ceremony there (no reception – just signing the marriage certificate and taking a few photos). We submitted an initial inquiry, based on which we were given a generally acceptable price. However, only in later negotiations, shortly before the final planning, did additional costs come to light, which had not been clearly communicated either on the website or in our previous conversations. These substantial additional costs quickly added up to around €4,000 – and were in no way transparent beforehand. Based on this experience, we ultimately decided against having our civil ceremony there. It didn't feel right to begin this special chapter of our lives with such negative impressions. Our advice to future couples: If you are considering a wedding at Villa Cipressi, inquire very carefully about all potential additional costs and have everything confirmed in writing. In our opinion, there is a clear need for improvement in terms of transparency.

13/11/2025: we went to visit the Abbazia Cistercense di Santa Maria monastery down the road and stopped for lunch in October most of these restaurants are closed for the season around lake Como this is a hotel with restaurant . The food was delicious we ordered the seafood Di Mare with linguini and two veal dishes

16/03/2026: We had such an amazing stay at Hotel Royal Victoria in Varenna and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Lake Como. From the moment we arrived everything felt welcoming and effortless. The hotel arranged to pick us up from the train station which made arriving in Varenna so easy after traveling. It was such a thoughtful touch and really set the tone for the level of service we experienced during our stay. When it was time for us to leave they also dropped us back off at the station which we really appreciated. We stayed in room 104 and the room was absolutely beautiful. It had that classic Lake Como charm but still felt very comfortable and elegant. The room was spotless and peaceful and it was the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed when you walk in. The hotel itself is stunning and being right on the lake makes it feel like a truly special place to stay. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with a great variety of fresh food and excellent coffee. Sitting there with views of Lake Como was the perfect way to start the day. What stood out the most though was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Federica from the concierge team. She helped get everything set up before we even arrived and gave us great restaurant recommendations while we were there. Having someone so helpful made a big difference for our trip. The location of the hotel is perfect and Varenna itself was an incredible place to stay. It made the whole Lake Como experience feel even more special. We will definitely be back if we ever return to Lake Como. Staying here is absolutely worth it compared to staying at a larger chain hotel in Como. The charm, service, and overall experience made this a truly memorable stay.

22/02/2026: Since everyone is free to eat wherever they want, I'm simply writing this review to let you know that the experience at this place was very unpleasant. I told the owner that the food we ate was salty (not tasty). Instead of taking the criticism constructively, because he was humane, he started asking other guests if their food was salty too. Dear sir, you're a total jerk. Instead of acting like a bully, consider filing a complaint because we pay for the food, and quite a lot at that. By the way, fix the bathroom door so we don't poop with the door open. And that's all I've said about this place.

21/02/2026: Hello everyone. We went to this restaurant for lunch today after a lovely walk along the lake. We had the pici cacio e pepe, mutton arrosticini with a side of cabbage, and fried brains with a side of chicory. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly, and I think the owner even let us bring our dog. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend it.
