10/07/2025: After a long walk around the lake, we found this place to grab a coffee. It's a shame that when we asked for an iced coffee (it was about 40 degrees in the shade), the owner rudely told us he wouldn't give us one. He offered us a cappuccino, and we said, "Okay, could I add some ice?" He rudely said no again. It's sad that such a nice place treats its customers so badly. I won't be back.

09/07/2025: Bella location. Servizio adeguato. Qualità del cibo discreta. Troppo caro per rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Ho chiesto una bottiglia di sauvignon che abitualmente costa 18€ ed è stata pagata 70€!!!

29/06/2025: El servicio y la vista eran inigualables e increíbles. La zona exterior era genial, pero también lo son la mayoría de los restaurantes en Varenna. La única queja era que la relación cantidad-precio era criminal. Terminé yendo a un segundo restaurante después para pizza y ensalada. Que este restaurante no tenía en el menú. La pasta de langosta era sabrosa, pero solo tenía un pequeño trozo de langosta y muy poca pasta todo por 37 euros. Los raviolis que sirvieron a mi esposa necesitaban salsa. Estaba un poco seco. Solo le dieron cuatro piezas de raviolis por 24 euros. Lo más divertido es que cobraban 10 euros por manteles Coperto que le llaman y 8 euros por un solo vaso de agua para compartir. Voy a Nueva York y otras ciudades caras con restaurantes de alta gama, y en términos de porción - a - precio, esto fue el peor hasta ahora

21/07/2025: A very pleasant experience, the staff is very kind and the property is charming. However, overall I think the prices are really excessive and disproportionate to the services and overall experience. The rooms are nice and clean, but they are naturally small given the structure, so the price of the stay should already take this into account. The linens are very basic, and even the bathroom lacks any special amenities that could possibly justify the price. As for breakfast, it's really poor and not suitable for everyone. They only serve a little yogurt, some cereal, bread, butter, and jam, and a half glass of juice. For a place that claims to have fresh eggs, a vegetable garden, and an orchard, at least the option to order eggs or have a little fresh fruit seems like the minimum. Another good idea would be to bake or procure fresh cakes. In short, there seems to be no shortage of resources, but the selection is truly limited. Furthermore, breakfast is served between 9 and 10; Given the amount I spent, I'd like to be able to decide when to get up, especially on weekends. Finally, the dinner was undoubtedly very good, we even complimented it. However, once again, the price was outrageous, around €90 per person. Four courses, the ingredients mostly vegetables (the appetizer was a zucchini flan with eggplant, the main course a cream of potatoes with an egg, the dessert made entirely of blueberries—so, in a place with its own garden and eggs, we imagine all the products were more or less free for the establishment), and meat (only the first course, ravioli stuffed with duck—again, we were told it was "their" duck, so we imagine the costs were quite low for the establishment). Wine was a bottle of prosecco and two glasses. How can you justify asking €186 for two? Furthermore, we didn't have a chance to decide on the time for dinner either; it was served at 8:00 PM, and since we were still finishing a bottle of Prosecco for an aperitif with friends at 8:25 PM, we were told that dinner was being served. In short, I would recommend reviewing the prices or the service, which needs to be up to par. Thank you.

07/08/2025: It's worth getting here just for the sake of a cold beer)) the road is partly by car, partly through the forest with a steep slope. It's a 10-minute walk, easy.

11/06/2025: We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel San Gerolamo, an excellent discovery in a small, very quiet lake view village. The room was really large, equipped with every comfort (even a good hairdryer). The cleanliness and service were impeccable, and the breakfast was also noteworthy, well-stocked and available both inside and in a lovely furnished garden. There is a car park in front of the building, but it is important to know that on holidays, only residents' vehicles are allowed, but this is not a problem because a second large and free car park is located 5-7 minutes away on foot (especially recommended if you have a large car, because the road to get to the first car park is quite narrow, being in a village)

10/06/2025: Charming family-run hotel in the heart of a small Italian village! Very friendly staff and impeccable service. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with magnificent views of the castle. The fabulous breakfast with fresh, seasonal produce! Perfect!!!!

04/07/2025: Poco meno di 30 euro a testa senza bevande. Buonissima qualità,personale eccellente e disponibile, servizio velocissimo. All you can eat non self service, si dispone di tablet al tavolo e si ordina con quello, efficientissimo. Devo dire ottima esperienza, locale ben tenuto e curato, consigliatissimo.

02/04/2025: In una domenica soleggiata, il locale si è riempito velocemente ma noi avevamo prenotato per tempo. Ci sono molti posti a sedere. Il servizio è veloce e il cibo proposto buono Molto soddisfacenti i primi per qualità e quantità, mentre I secondi non ci hanno entusiasmato, soprattutto la tagliata. Magari un'altra volta proveremo qualche altro secondo Per il nostro bimbo abbiamo trovato un seggiolone e stoviglie adatte

31/12/2024: È stata una piacevole esperienza. Personale gentile e veloce, ambiente rustico di montagna e piatti buoni ed abbondanti. Pizzoccheri e cervo ai mirtilli veramente ottimi, anche tiramisù e crostata ricotta e marmellata di mirtilli da applausi. Prezzi più che onesti. Consigliatissimo, ci torneremo.

08/06/2025: Simplicity, the only true word to describe this tavern. Arriving on a hot June midday, I called a few minutes early to make sure we could eat. “But we do sandwiches and TOST” I was told on the phone. What more could you want? Well, we arrive and the elderly owner who glimpsed us from the kitchen (the one in her house that also serves as the bar kitchen) welcomes us, makes us sit down and sitting in the beautiful garden outside on concrete tables and painted iron chairs we enjoy our sandwiches, a coke, a coffee and a nice slice of cake. It is worth a stop to be catapulted back in time and enjoy a genuine environment. It is increasingly rare to find places like this, THANK YOU

14/07/2025: Historic restaurant with a beautiful view of the woods surrounding Lecco and leading to Ballabio. Very good food, the specialty menu is a guarantee, and the menu is worth trying. They also make pizzas and homemade bread. Recommended for both families and couples.
