While searching for a pizzeria, we ended up at Cava based on the photos.
Upon arrival, we discovered that pizza is only served in the evenings – well, we'll see what happens – at least the menu looks promising.
What followed was rather disappointing. The beetroot salad was – well, beetroot. No vinegar reduction, no horseradish, just a bit of pink foam. A similar story with the roast beef – good meat, but no pepper, tartar, or pepper mill in sight.
The main courses were good.
The only remaining issue is the pricing, which is on par with Swiss prices! However, since the restaurant was quite busy, it seems to be acceptable 😅.
10/11/2025: The food was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked dishes with fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavor with a modern touch. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, ideal for all kinds of circumstances.
A special mention goes to Simone, our waiter, who was outstanding! Friendly, attentive, and very professional — he recommended our food and made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
One of the best dinners we’ve had in Italy. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Como! 👏🍷🇮🇹

27/11/2025: This isn't my first time at the Crotto, and I've always had a good experience. Good service, the food is more than decent, and the prices are reasonable. Excellent for a quick business lunch; I can't comment on the evening service. I'll be back.

03/10/2025: We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is super convenient, just a few steps from the ferry dock. The staff were so kind and always ready to help, which made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was homemade and delicious with lots of variety. Our room was spacious and clean.
25/09/2025: Hotel Posta provided two beautiful rooms with gorgeous lake views. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Nice breakfast is included. The hotel is located conveniently near restaurants and the ferry dock. Teresa and Patrizia went out of their way to make our stay easy and comfortable. Before we arrived, they responded to every question promptly. And even after we left, they went out of their way to mail us a pair of glasses we had inadvertently left behind, at no charge! We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Como. Highly recommend it, without reservation!

01/12/2025: A little corner of paradise just steps from Villa Olmo and Villa Parravicini.
Intimate atmosphere, just a few tables. Service is meticulous down to the smallest detail (the waiter is young, dynamic, and incredibly friendly). All the ingredients are top-quality, and the menu varies seasonally. The wait staff and kitchen staff are superb.

30/11/2025: Skip the tourist traps in the square and come around the corner to this small but delicious restaurant. The seafood risotto was amazing, the pasta fresh, and paired with the house wine for only €10 per 1/2 liter and only a €2 cover. The price to value cannot be beat.

14/12/2025: Top-notch piadina, made with care and quality ingredients. The fries are addictive. They also have interesting craft beers, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We stumbled upon it by chance, but we'll definitely be back.
05/12/2025: This is my second time here because I had a great time the first time, and I can fully confirm that! The piadinas are plentiful and incredibly varied, the dough is soft and flavorful, and the salads served with piadina are a great option if you're craving something fresh but still filling.
The staff is also friendly, welcoming, and approachable, the place is truly charming and simple, and the dried flowers in the craft beer cans are a great idea. Fair prices.
I'll definitely be back, thanks!
