The environment is pleasant, rustic but recently renovated, with touches that make the atmosphere welcoming and authentic. 07/06/2025: I had the opportunity to visit this very charming place for the second time. I don't understand these negative opinions...Both two years ago and this year I had a delicious dinner. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric, tastefully decorated.... The interior is very cozy, beautiful tableware on the table, friendly service, very good German speaking, helpful and interested in guests. In this place you can rest from tourists and the noise of the city... For the first course I ordered baked cheese in filo pastry with fresh strawberries, my husband ordered a salad with shrimp with fennel, pomegranate with a delicious dressing. For the main course I had raviolli with cheese and salmon and my husband had fish of the day...everything fresh, well seasoned, appetizingly served. I will come back next year, that's already decided. I recommend

31/05/2025: We went to Trattoria del Gallo and were really satisfied. We ate very well, with dishes prepared with typical local ingredients, authentic and genuine, which tell the local tradition with taste and simplicity. The wine selection was also up to par, with labels that go well with the menu proposals. But the real credit goes to the host Giuliano: hospitable, friendly, and able to make every guest feel at home. His presence gives the environment a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the experience even more pleasant. Highly recommended!

06/06/2025: We spent a lovely evening at Il Rivale al Lago. We booked on short notice and luckily got a table for two and could bring our dogs. Plus for dog friendliness - got some water for our dog immediately. The location is lovely with a nice vibe benefitting of some laid back music playing in the background. Food was amazing and even topped some michelin star restaurants in the region - I personally preferred the food and the play of consistencies as well as flavours better than at e.g. Capriccio. Wine selection is nicely curated. However, for a restaurant that has Coravin I found the selection by the class very disappointing. Only two wines on the Coravin list. Definitely room for improvement. Biggest downside was the service. No refills whatsoever. No explanation of any food we have gotten (possibly due to a language barrier?). No dedicated service coverage - instead there were 4 service personel covering 7 tables and we faced off with everyone of them. Not the kind of service I would've expected in this establishment. Generally service felt a bit distant. Some drinks we ordered - incl a second bottle of water - never arrived. Despite the evening being slow. To top it off, we where charged for 7 desserts (note that we were a party of 2). We were lucky enough to catch this and the bill was adjusted. Nevertheless it left a bitter taste if the service doesn't really care about guests. All in all this place has a lot of potential and outstanding food but deserves much better service personel to thrive.

14/06/2025: Welcoming staff, excellent Apulian products (focaccia barese with stracciatella, tasty bombetta appetizer - top rustico), generous portions, good bombette and pasticciotto! We will definitely come back to try the rest too!

15/06/2025: We just left after celebrating a friend's birthday. Superlatives! After finding out (only when the dish arrived) that there was lactose in a dish to which I am intolerant, I unfortunately had to have the dish taken back.... Well the chef decided to cook it without lactose after I had already chosen another dish anyway. These are very rare things nowadays and I'm happy to have experienced them because old souls still exist! Thanks 🙏🏻 to all the staff! We'll see each other again 🥰

04/05/2025: Absolutely recommended!!! Be sure to reserve, otherwise you won't get a table. Quaint old and one of the best restaurants on Lake Idro. Great outdoor area under the wisteria. Excellent meat quality. The 1kg steak was to die for. The veal cheeks melted in your mouth. The lamb was on point! The salads and desserts were also really delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices were quite reasonable.

11/06/2025: This was without a doubt the best restaurant of our entire Italy trip (spent 12 days among Milan, Como, Garda, and Venice). Easily 1 of top 5 restaurants lifetime. What a gem. The chef is amazing. The experience was incredible. Had a cevice pasta that was incredibly unexpected and incredible. As well as meats, and then a vegetable dish that was simply divine. So many fresh garden vegetables, impeccable sauces... NO words can describe how good this place is. If you're in Garda, you MUST go.
