01/08/2025: Il locale tipico nei vicoli di Genova si presenta come una classica osteria vicino al porto. Il personale è sbrigativo e poco cordiale, mal disposto da dare spiegazioni e parco di sorrisi e gentilezza (tipoco in Liguria ma qui si rasenta l'antipatia). In otto a tavola chiediamo alcuni secondi da condividere come antipasto: acciughe fritte, acciughe ripiene e tagliere di formaggi. Le acciughe ripiene sono 4: presentate su un piatto enorme con una fogliolina di insalata come guarnizione, ne abbiamo mangiato mezza a testa; le acciughe fritte saranno state una decina, con sospetto che fossero congelate; i formaggi di qualità da discount. I primi sono le portate migliori: il pesto è di qualità e anche la pasta è stata cotta bene. I secondi, scarsi: il pesce del giorno, un trancio d'ombrina, è stato servito crudo; rimandato in cuicina è stato passato malamente in padella e riproposto sullo stesso piatto già in parte mangiato. La carta dei vini costosissima per la qualità delle bevande proposte, il vino bianco è stato servito caldo nonostante avessimo chiesto una bottiglia da fredda. Un Vermentino da supermercato venduto a più di venti euro a bottiglia. Infine i dolci: anche'essi caldi e di bassa qualità. La sorpresa finale arriva con il conto, quasi 40 euro a testa per aver mangiato: 2 acciughe come antipasto, un piatto a testa, un dolce scadente e un paio di bicchieri di vino. Tipica osteria che sopravvive grazie al nome e alla posizione, qualche turista ci può anche casacare, ma chiunque abbia un minimo di palato e gusto non ci metta piede.

01/08/2025: Nel corso della cena ci accorgiamo che le due bottiglie di birra rossa Birrificio La Superba sono scadute a settembre 2024 (scadute da 10 mesi). Lo faccio presente alla cameriera che prende le bottiglie e le porta via. Terminata la cena chiedo il conto e pago. Dopo aver pagato, e pagato anche le 2 birre scadute, faccio presente che sarebbe stato gentile da parte loro non far pagare le due birre scadute; la cameriera/cassiera, pure irritata, ci ha risposto che era stata consegnata la birra scaduta e senza salutare se ne è andata in cucina. Veramente ineducata!

18/08/2025: I stopped by for lunch today on my motorcycle, returning from Rapallo, heading towards Milan. I didn't realize it was already 1:00 PM and was passing by without intending to stop, but as soon as I noticed it was a pro-biker bar, with several biking references, I turned around and stopped. Thank goodness! There were only two tables occupied, but as soon as I sat down, it filled up within minutes. Excellent welcome and knowledgeable staff. I ate excellent tagliatelle with hare ragù, drank a Paulaner beer, and coffee. Perfect for a motorcycle tour.

11/08/2025: Paolo and his wife have been a point of reference for years, wonderful people, a beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant that has everything you need, even a bar and a lawn where you can sunbathe

29/08/2025: We visited this restaurant around 3:10 PM. We were greeted warmly, quickly given a menu and offered help with choosing dishes and drinks. The menu ranges from pizza, spaghetti to everything and freshly grilled fish. For every taste. We ordered risotto, salmon, oysters, pizza. Everything was very tasty. I accidentally spilled the Aperol Spritz that had just been brought, but the waiters promptly cleared the table and brought a new cocktail. Which was not included in the bill. I highly recommend it.

17/08/2025: Quality products, I've tried better value for money... no. The most important thing for a customer is a smile and a good morning, which everyone appreciates, but the owner lacks this, I honestly prefer a smile and less aloofness. On the contrary, the sales assistant was kind, in a less than relaxed environment, that was my perception.

12/08/2025: I've had the pleasure of tasting the delicious cakes prepared by this historic pastry shop in Sestri on several occasions, and I immediately fell in love. The fresh pastries are equally excellent and high-quality. You absolutely must try the Mojito cake (or a single portion), which is probably only made in the summer. It's exceptional, perfect, and you can taste the flavors of all the ingredients, perfectly balanced. I love it!!! The owners and staff are always welcoming, friendly, and kind; you can see the passion they put into their work. Undoubtedly my favorite pastry shop in all of Genoa.

10/08/2025: I've been coming here for years because it's a surefire hit. The atmosphere is friendly and family-friendly. The service is very friendly, and above all, the food is excellent. A special mention goes to the grilled meats. You have to see and eat them to believe it!

15/07/2025: Excellent food, fast service, very friendly. Simple and tasty appetizer, good house wine. Excellent meat. Excellent first courses. Ravioli with meat sauce, trofie with pesto, spaghetti with clams.

06/07/2025: We went to this bar because our usual one was closed. Very slow service: the waitress brought one thing at a time very slowly. We went back a second time but the situation did not improve: we had to get up to complete the order. Disappointing experience.

04/08/2025: Despite receiving a confirmation email for our reservation, we arrived to find that no table had been secured for us. It appears the restaurant does not utilize Google's "Book a Table" feature, despite its availability on their listing. More concerning is the apparent disconnect in their reservation system—receiving an email confirmation proved meaningless in securing a table. The culinary offerings were inconsistent at best. The pesto lacked the vibrant, authentic flavors one expects from this classic preparation. The frutti di mare was adequate but unremarkable. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the Angus beef, as it never arrived at our table. The restaurant offered no compensation for this oversight, which speaks poorly of their customer service standards. The tagliata, however, was well-executed and represented the evening's sole culinary highlight. Given the combination of unreliable reservation management, inconsistent food quality, and inadequate service recovery, we will not be returning to this establishment.

04/08/2025: The service from the staff was excellent, especially one lady who greeted us with great kindness and dedication. It's clear that the team works hard and wants to make their customers feel welcome. Unfortunately, during the meal, we could hear shouting and insults coming from inside, apparently from the owner toward the employees. This was very unpleasant and partially ruined the experience. It's a real shame, because the restaurant has so much potential and a truly valuable staff. Treating those who make a restaurant run well is an integral part of the customer experience. I hope they'll reflect on this.

14/08/2025: This is the perfect place to daydream. Reachable by ferry, on foot, or with your own boat, looking for passage from the mooring buoy to the beach, it's a destination that will fill your heart, stomach, and memory. Da Giovanni is a historic restaurant serving traditional Ligurian cuisine and the freshest seafood. I tried the shrimp spaghetti and their grilled fish and left the table feeling deeply satisfied. Excellent value for money, courteous service. The setting of San Fruttuoso is enchanting: a swim in the early morning light or at sunset is the best option, because the tourists who flock to this paradise are elsewhere. A visit to the abbey is worth it. You arrive and depart to the music of the waves. To maximize the experience, we stayed at Da Giovanni: new, comfortable rooms, equipped with a coffee machine, snacks, and water. For breakfast, you have to wait until 9:30 because croissants and fresh focaccia arrive on the first boat. Absolutely worth trying 🤩😎

30/04/2025: On Sunday there was a free plate of small snacks with the Aperol Spritz. That was very pleasant. The chips and peanuts were also included, which are available free of charge every day. Haven't eaten anything.

25/08/2025: Dining at this restaurant was truly a pleasant surprise. The service was perfect: the owner was extremely kind and professional. The traditional Genoese dishes were well-prepared. Highly recommended.

20/08/2025: A rather dated restaurant that needs modernizing, as it's truly unwelcoming: we went on August 19th for lunch, and all the outdoor tables were piled up as if the place were closed, and there were still Christmas baubles on the shelves in the dining room. Even the owner seems fed up with this job: you can tell by the way he runs the business. The menus are old, dirty, and worn; the bar counter and the cash register at the entrance are a complete mess, even when I was there and the only customer. The water served at the table is bottled glass, filled by the restaurant, but from the taste, you'd think the filters hadn't been replaced in years. The food somewhat salvages the overall negative rating, serving decent dishes, though clearly 1980s-inspired. We ordered two appetizers recommended by the host: the dish of the day, octopus carpaccio on a bed of potatoes, and the "mosciame di tonno," a carpaccio of tuna steak preserved in salt, the old Ligurian way. The dishes were good, even if they were arranged in the same way, with the unusual final sprinkling of parsley. Then we ordered two first courses, which didn't convince us at all: spaghetti with clams and bottarga, which had a dark gray sauce on the bottom, with a rather bland flavor; and linguine with swordfish and arugula, where, however, the arugula was completely forgotten, with the usual gray sauce on the bottom of the plate. But what disappointed me most was discovering that the house white wine was "Marche" and not "Ligurian," truly embarrassing.
