03/09/2025: I don't know what to say.
A beautiful day at the spa, but to continue relaxing, we decided not to leave given the restaurant's excellent reviews.
The bread in the basket was obviously old.
Amatriciana, or pasta with sauce containing soft, not at all crispy pork cheek, and no pecorino cheese, or if it was present, it was imperceptible.
Tagliolini with asparagus, pork cheek, and tomatoes was a bland pasta dish, with ingredients that didn't quite mesh together.
To finish off beautifully, the beef tagliata, €28, or six strips of meat, floating in a pungent red sauce, surrounded by six white beans and bland potatoes.
An excellent dinner if we had opted for a cafeteria, but not for a four-star hotel, and not at that price.
We ate purely out of hunger, not pleasure.
However, as I told the waiter, the Fiuggi water was really good.

01/03/2026: We went to Trattoria da Gino for lunch on a Sunday, intrigued by the many positive reviews on Maps. Around 11:30, I called to ask if there were two seats available, and they very kindly confirmed the availability. We were already there by 1:00 PM.
We started with an appetizer of cured meats and cheeses: a generous, beautifully presented, and truly delicious dish.
For our first course, we chose the pasta "Gino" style, a unique and very successful dish, enhanced with excellent porcini mushrooms.
For our second course, we had a second course of artichokes, cooked as only artichokes know how: flavorful, tender, and truly exquisitely seasoned.
Even though we were already full, we couldn't resist dessert. The house tiramisu was a perfect choice: creamy, balanced, and very enjoyable.
To finish off, in addition to the coffee, I also ordered a half-liter of Barrique grappa, a perfect accompaniment.
All this was accompanied by a half-liter of local Cesanese and a bottle of water.
The final bill was €100 for two, perfectly in line with the quality, quantity, and atmosphere.
A tip: it's best to book on weekends, as the place tends to fill up quickly.
An authentic, sincere, and well-run trattoria. We'll gladly return.

25/02/2026: I found this restaurant by chance while traveling to Fiuggi. The location is very nice and welcoming, and the fireplace with the embers where they cook the various meats is very nice... The lamb chops were very good and very tender... I recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

The set menu meal for Christmas Day is AMAZING, that's the most appropriate adjective. The food is carefully crafted, balanced, and flavorful, and there's no shortage of it. The kindness and courtesy of the owner, Stefano, complete the picture of this place.

06/02/2026: I have to say the quality is very high, with fantastic flavors and just the right proportions, a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent food and fast service... Yes, it's true, there's no menu with prices displayed, but in the end, I thought the bill was fair.
€40 for a great appetizer, a steak, dessert, wine, coffee, and water all seemed excellent.
02/12/2025: I visited Hostaria del Gallo and left with the rare feeling of having eaten in an authentic, sincere, almost family-like place. As soon as I entered, I immediately felt a warm, rustic atmosphere that reminded me of homes from days gone by: no frills, just hospitality and simplicity.
The food is truly the highlight. I sampled appetizers of cured meats and bruschetta that smelled of good bread and genuine olive oil, followed by grilled meat—cooked in front of me—which was one of the best surprises of the evening. Authentic flavors, dishes made with care, without overdoing it but with the honesty of home cooking.
I found the staff friendly, attentive, with that spontaneous way of making you feel at ease that is not at all a given these days. It almost felt like a guest at dinner rather than a customer.
It should be noted that the place is small, so reservations are recommended, especially if you want to try the famous paella, which I saw served at a nearby table: plentiful, rich, and inviting. The prices aren't particularly low considering the simple atmosphere, but I found them consistent with the quality of the products.
Ultimately, at Hostaria del Gallo I found a genuine place, without artifice, where you eat well and feel good. It's an osteria that retains the soul of old-fashioned trattorias: authentic flavors, a warm welcome, and an atmosphere that leaves you feeling full, relaxed, and a little lighter.

13/03/2026: The gnocchi with tomato sauce were delicious, the focaccia equally delicious, and the rustic baked potatoes were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.
The place is very beautiful and well-kept, and the two girls are very polite and kind. It's worth returning.
12/03/2026: A small restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Local cuisine, simple and impeccably executed.
High-quality ingredients, and courteous and friendly staff.
Gnocchi alla fiuggina...divine.
Highly recommended, and we'll gladly return.

02/03/2026: If you pass through Fiuggi, a must-see is Leo's. His signature dish is the pizza with porchetta in a potato crust, but all his other stuffed pizzas are also exceptional. The real Roman pizza alla pala. COMPLIMENTS.

19/01/2026: Sunday stroll in Fiuggi to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My partner and I were walking by and noticed this café, which immediately struck us. Upon entering, the first thing that comes naturally is to gape at the beauty and uniqueness of the place. A warm and meticulously maintained Art Nouveau café, its decor could almost be considered a museum. I remained there looking around the entire time, and every glance was increasingly incredulous at such care and attention to every single detail. Nothing was random, nothing was there just right. The owner, disarmingly kind and with a manner that anyone who deals with the public can only admire and imitate, with extreme warmth and hospitality, seated us and brought us menus that surprised us with their wide variety: from coffees to herbal teas, including hot chocolates and desserts of all kinds. We ordered Ethiopian coffee and black rose tea. Our order arrives at the table with service far beyond our wildest expectations: an hourglass to adjust the tea flavor based on the brewing time, milk for the tea, coffee served directly from the moka pot, and even a chocolate to accompany it. While sipping what was brought to our table, we can't help but notice all the products on display, which we'd already noticed in the window display and at the entrance. We decide to purchase two jams, a box of chocolates, and a box of naturally flavored French sweets. The bill would have scared off many people who are clearly unaccustomed to quality service and products; this was definitely not the case for us; in fact, we even felt the service was a bit underpriced. It's not at all a place for superficial people or those who just want a quick coffee at the counter, but a true gathering place where you can relax and share moments, even spending an hour or two simply enjoying the moment and the meticulously curated atmosphere. We will definitely return to this café, which was and will be the most beautiful I've ever seen, and which has held a special place in my heart since Sunday.
18/01/2026: I've frequented the "caffè del teatro" in Fiuggi and was very pleased with the quality of the products and the service. Even the tastefully decorated decor makes one think of entering the adjacent municipal theater. Every time I return to Fiuggi, this café is one of the first things I do.

31/01/2026: I came with my family. We ended up here (luckily) because the place we were going to was closed. I found a very clean restaurant with excellent service. They are friendly and pamper you all evening. The fish was fresh and very good, especially the prawns, which were truly excellent. It's truly an excellent place. Come here!
27/01/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance; we were visiting the spa and stopped for lunch.
A wonderful experience, the fish was incredibly fresh, both the first and second courses were perfectly prepared, and the service was excellent, like being at a family, pleasant and relaxed.
I absolutely recommend it...

10/12/2025: I met with the owners of the trattoria for a few minutes, outside of business hours, to arrange lunch the next day.
They were a truly lovely family.
I returned the following day with a group of 15, and they treated us wonderfully.
A family atmosphere, quiet and good food.
There aren't many places, but we had a wonderful time.
They left a little bag of sweets on the table as a welcome gift.
And they offered us a tart feast.
Thank you so much, you're truly kind.
I was looking for a place to have lunch as if I were at home with friends, and I found it.

29/08/2025: I had the ill-advised idea of following the advice of someone I met in Fiuggi who raved about the deliciousness of this trattoria. "It's so cheap, they make huge portions, the fettuccine with wild boar is delicious, it's all family-run."
The only truth is that the place was family-run. And you could tell by the state of disrepair on the outside, with peeling walls, horrible neon lights, and an atmosphere of abandonment that didn't convey a pleasant feeling.
I didn't have the pleasure of looking inside until after the bill, but it seemed a little more upscale.
The service was average. The real problem with this place was what I ate and drank.
Given that the place wasn't cheap for the quality of the food and drinks offered, I ordered: supplì, a portion of fries, and then the famous fettuccine with wild boar that I'd heard was wonderful. I washed it down with house white wine and water.
Luckily, I'd decided to wait until after the main course, based on how hungry I was.
Unfortunately, the wine was completely oxidized: it tasted terrible, as if it had been opened and left like that for weeks.
Almost everything I ate was tasteless and completely lacking in salt.
The supplì were made with a sauce that was very acidic from the tomato, but completely lacked salt. The same could be said for the chips, which were completely unsalted but tasted good. These chips were the only good thing I ate.
The famous fettuccine with wild boar were completely bland, and these, too, were completely lacking in saltiness. I know the taste of a good wild boar ragù well, and this was absolutely not good: you couldn't taste the meat.
Quite annoyed by what I'd eaten, I decided to stop dinner there, even though I'd started with the idea of ordering a main course and a side dish. However, I had no desire to continue with this mess.
When I went to pay, I explained everything I'd read in the review and was told that they're used to "light" food and that the wine had just been opened that day.
I pointed out that there's a big difference between light and bland, just as they'd opened the wine that day, but it had definitely been sitting there for a while and, given the summer heat, it had gone bad.
To top it all off, the famously gigantic portions were absolutely normal... nothing out of the ordinary.
For all this, I spent a whopping 19 euros. It might not seem like much, but considering the quality and quantity offered, it's truly a rip-off.
At the end of the evening, I was wondering, "How do people eat, to say this place is good?"
And to think that the person who recommended this place to me had been eating there for both lunch and dinner for days...
