07/06/2026: Today, thanks to our friend S, we discovered this restaurant, outside the classic Castelli circuit but worthy of a lunch/dinner, and even more than once, for the care, the hospitality, the quality of the raw materials, and the love in what they do. Mauro, the owner, along with his father and all the staff, welcomed us graciously, and we sampled both meat, a fantastic tagliata, and fish, exquisite fried fish and octopus, as well as excellent and delicious seafood appetizers. A gem: the fried batter is fragrant and crispy and doesn't leave your fingers greasy, which is not a given! The mussel sauté with an amazing sauce, even for me who never eats them :) We will definitely be back and I really recommend stopping by, it's worth it. The prices match the quality of the dishes. Congratulations!

Excellent cuisine, amazing first courses (carbonara, cacio e pepe, porcini mushrooms, fettuccine with white wild boar ragù), exquisite second courses (saltimbocca alla romana, arrosticini, sublime venison stew), excellent side dishes, such as the Roman-style artichoke, light pizza, and gorgonzola scrocchiarella. Reasonable prices for the quality. The owners are very friendly and approachable. Highly recommended. Somewhere, local trattorias like they once were still there.

11/05/2026: Fantastic restaurant. We arrived a little early but were still seated and received a delicious antipasti platter. Then a delicious pasta and finally tiramisu. Service super friendly. Best restaurant we’ve been to this week (and tried many…). It was our last day in Italy so we couldn't have ended it better.

A must-try for anyone who appreciates a popular Roman dessert with a touch of creativity. * They don't make it anymore, but THE BIG CUPS OF MIXED CHOCOLATE AND SWEETS WILL REMAIN IN THE CULINARY LEGEND OF SOUTHERN ROME.

08/05/2026: If you're looking for a heavenly nighttime indulgence in Rome, this is the place to be, but be prepared to be patient! It's become a viral phenomenon on social media, and the long line stretching almost to the corner is proof of that. However, the wait is more than worth it as soon as you get your hands on their legendary warm pangoccioli. The aroma of leavened dough and melted chocolate wafts from meters away, guiding you toward the entrance. The extra kick comes from the fillings: generous, dense, and formidable. My absolute favorite is the custard and black cherry combo: the sweetness of the still-warm custard pairs perfectly with the tartness of the black cherry, creating a stunning contrast. Despite the huge crowds, the prices have remained very fair and affordable, a rare find for such popular places. A must-try for a great end to the evening, as long as you're not in a rush!

An experience worth trying, with a stunning view, excellent food, and a great sense of spontaneity. In addition to classic Roman first courses, there are meat-based second courses and a variety of salads. Homemade desserts are also available. Make a reservation.

30/06/2026: Conveniently located near the highway exit, after reading excellent reviews, we stopped for lunch and were very pleased. The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming, surrounded by greenery with a spacious interior, an outdoor veranda, and ample shade. The decor was very elegant, and the service was excellent. We ate typical Roman appetizers and first courses, all very good.

07/02/2026: I live near this place and was really curious to try it. Finally, one day for lunch, I decided to go, and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. I had the grilled calamari, which arrived beautifully presented and very tender. The side dishes also looked very well-prepared and delicious. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return. I was hoping to spend less, but that's a vain hope these days.

16/05/2026: I was staying at a nearby hotel, after a quick Google it decided to try Al Cantuccio. I arrived and kindly asked if those awesome ladies spoke english, cause I’m don’t speak Italian, they told me that we would come to an understanding (first sign of local authenticity). All the patrons present were italian, i was the only tourist, second sign. After a mix of portuguese/italian and sign language I had a 5 Star meal and 5 Star hostesses (thank you Ladies for taking so much good care of this portuguese guy). Great cacio pepe, prosecco and rosso wine. Great decoration and ambiance of the restaurant. Truly local and authentic.

14/05/2026: You don't just go to Cantuccio to dine, but to enjoy a unique experience, each time, thanks to the expert, tasty, and creative cuisine, the refined and detailed atmosphere, and, for her, unique, refined, and welcoming…Carla. As soon as you step through the gate, you immediately feel like you've entered a magical place, far from the chaotic city life. Carla's welcome is warm, the class of a woman of substance who welcomes you into her home, a pampering experience that is delicious, beautiful, and kind for every guest at Cantuccio. The cuisine is poetry; every dish, from appetizer to dessert, arrives at the table with care, attention to detail, and refinement. It's important to mention the deliciousness of traditional dishes like ravioli and roast beef, and the variety of desserts (the Porcata is a true delight), but the richness of Carla's menu offers a delight for every palate, even in every season. P.S. Reading the reviews, one in particular by Ms. Camilla, I feel compelled to point out the inaccuracy and, perhaps, excessive unfairness in judging one's experience at Cantuccio. I'm writing this because, sitting at the back table, I personally witnessed the preferential treatment reserved for a less-than-satisfied customer. Immediately afterward, out of curiosity, I tasted what was left (practically very little) of the dish she described as "sour"... but it definitely wasn't!

29/06/2026: Highly recommended. They have the typical Italian food you're looking for, but with a unique style that sets it apart from other restaurants. The waitresses are very friendly and pleasant. It's well located opposite the cathedral in Rome and close to several bus stops.

20/12/2025: We ate wonderfully; the pasta and meat dishes we ate were all delicious and refined. The dining room features a beautiful fireplace. The view is as far as the eye can see. The prices are significantly below average. An experience worth having. P.S.: After a couple of years, I feel compelled to update the stars on my review, giving it my all. Having returned to this restaurant several times, I can only praise it for the quality and deliciousness found for every occasion. Congratulations!
