23/06/2026: We had a WiFi issue in our room. We stayed for three days, and from the very first day, despite reporting the problem, it wasn't resolved. Breakfast wasn't included in the price. One morning, two of us decided to have it (€8 per person). We were disappointed. We had a tart, simple PAGO fruit juices, cereal, cornflakes, and little else. All supermarket products, among other things. Normally, in a property like this, breakfast includes milk, yogurt, jams, Nutella, various homemade cakes/tarts, eggs and cured meats, warm croissants, fresh bread, and fresh fruit. One afternoon, we ordered a prosecco; it was warm and flat... As for the location, there's nothing to complain about. The rooms are tidy and well-kept. The blacksmith room where we stayed didn't have air conditioning, but the bathroom had a whirlpool tub.

10/08/2026: The day before our dinner, we called the restaurant in Italian to let them know that we were celebrating a birthday and that one person in our party was vegetarian. We were assured that this would not be a problem at all and that they were happy to accommodate vegetarians. I fully understand that, as a vegetarian dining at a seafood restaurant, I cannot necessarily expect an elaborate vegetarian tasting menu. However, the overall experience, including the service, was extremely disappointing and far below what I would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The guests in our party who ate fish were also disappointed with their dishes, particularly by the lack of flavour and the service. There were no vegetarian options listed on the menu except a pasta cacio e pepe, which you can get anywhere and you don't visit a Michelin restaurant for. When I asked what was available, the options were simply recited to me almost like a shopping list. This was not a language issue, as between us we speak English, Dutch and Italian. My options included pak choi, potatoes, and pasta with tomato sauce as a main course. Honestly, I would have been perfectly fine with that if the dishes had been prepared and presented with some care. Unfortunately, they were essentially the restaurant’s existing side dishes, yet charged at prices comparable to the fish dishes. The service during the starters was particularly disappointing. Everyone at the table received their dish except me. Through the mirror, I could see and hear the waitress realise that she had brought the wrong dish for me and tell her colleague that it was incorrect. Despite this, nobody came over to explain what had happened. Around ten minutes later, I was finally told that my dish was coming. By then, everyone else had already started eating because their food would otherwise have gone cold. It took approximately another ten minutes for my dish to arrive. When it finally came, it was simply limp pak choi in oil with a little salt. No real presentation, no creativity and very little flavour. Nobody came to ask how our food was or whether everything was satisfactory. The handling of the birthday was equally disappointing. We had specifically called the day before to mention it and even approached a member of staff at the restaurant to remind them. Despite this, I was later taken aside and asked, “Whose birthday is it?” This was something we had already clearly communicated. Normally, I would say that as a vegetarian I cannot expect a Michelin-level meal in a seafood restaurant. In this case, however, I actually think I could and should have expected exactly that, because this is, after all, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Interestingly, the chef’s welcome bites were carefully composed, creative and beautifully presented. They were the one part of the meal I was genuinely impressed by, and naturally created a certain expectation for the dinner that followed. I am genuinely very easy to accommodate. As long as there is no meat or fish on my plate, I am happy to eat almost anything and have no additional requirements. That is precisely why this experience was so disappointing. For a dinner that cost us around €600, the overall experience was simply not good enough. The view is absolutely beautiful, but based on our experience, I would consider this more appropriate as a Michelin-recommended restaurant than a one-Michelin-star restaurant. A real shame, because the setting and the welcome bites showed that the potential is clearly there.

03/08/2026: Wonderful meal. The view is exquisite. We had a 7:30 reservation right when they opened and got to watch the sunset as Julio created two fantastic cocktails to start the evening. The tequila based Colada was very noteworthy. We can highly recommend the experience.

17/05/2026: A unique experience worth trying at least once in your life. Everything was perfect, and the view of Rome at night is spectacular.

17/05/2026: Breathtaking view over the rooftops of Rome. Incredible sunset. Fairly "traditional" dishes. Nothing eccentric or innovative, but everything executed very well. Excellent restaurant!

21/04/2026: We ate too little and spent too much. The place is nice, but the prices are disproportionate.

12/04/2026: The staff were friendly, but the prices were too high. They brought us a focaccia and ham, which we hadn't ordered, and in all reputable restaurants, when they do this, it's a freebie: they charge €10 without our knowledge. If it's not free, you have to tell the customer, who will decide whether or not to order it, and €10 is truly outrageous.

20/04/2026: Just got married in Borgo in April and it was the most magical few days of our lives. Everything from the staff, the food, the drinks, the location- everything was perfection. The staff go above and beyond and all our guests are still talking about it. The wedding team; Cristina, Mariya, Gizem and Stefania are absolutely incredible at their job. Nothing was too much of an ask and they were so amazing to deal with. We had 6 children attend the wedding and there were babysitters onsite which all the parents really appreciated. The 3 day celebration is so well organised and the borgo team make sure everyone is well looked after. If you are thinking of having your wedding at borgo I would 100 percent go for it- I was even trying to convince some of my own family and friends to get married there just so I could experience it all over again 🤣 5 stars across the board ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

19/04/2026: A charming location, particularly suitable for various events (birthdays, baptisms, first communions, confirmations, weddings). Unfortunately, the restaurant was a bit disappointing today: a first course was completely overcooked and bland, other courses were good but not exceptional, and the wait was far too long between courses.
