03/09/2025: If there's one place in Rome I always love returning to, it's Il Papetto on Gianicolense. I don't know if it's the family atmosphere, the consistently friendly service, or the quality of the fish, but every time I go there I leave with a smile and a happy belly. It's one of those restaurants that makes you feel at home, without too many frills, but with an incredible attention to flavor and fresh ingredients. The first time I went, the name intrigued me, but it was the aroma that wafted from the door that won me over. As soon as I sat down, I immediately noticed the courtesy of the staff: smiling, helpful, and ready to offer advice without ever being intrusive. And I must say, their recommendations have always turned out perfectly. The seafood appetizers are, in my opinion, Papetto's real strength. Fresh, varied, and lightly prepared, they're a riot of flavors without ever being heavy, and they open your stomach for the following courses. I've tried the raw fish several times, and I must say the quality of the fish is exceptional: you can taste that it's been carefully chosen. The cooked dishes are also fabulous, with simple yet thoughtful combinations that enhance the natural flavor of the sea without overpowering it. Every bite seems to tell a different story, and that's rare. The mussels deserve a special mention: simply fantastic. The broth they're served in is unforgettable. It's balanced, light yet flavorful, with a final touch that makes you want to mop up every last drop. The first courses are equally extraordinary, maintaining simplicity and complexity at the same time, with that common denominator: fresh ingredients. It's clear that behind them is a particular attention to detail and the harmony of flavors. The atmosphere is simple, welcoming, and refined, unpretentious but with a warm feeling that immediately puts you at ease. There's nothing forced: it's almost like dining at the home of friends who love to cook well and share their passion. Ultimately, Il Papetto is one of those restaurants that makes you want to return again and again. I recommend it to anyone who loves fresh fish, authentic flavors, and the pleasure of being pampered by attentive and sincere service. For me, it's become a go-to in Rome, a place where I know I'll eat well and leave satisfied. My recommendation, of course.

29/08/2025: Walking near the Trevi Fountain, we decided to have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. The young lady who greeted passersby at the entrance was particularly kind and respectful. She greeted us promptly. The food was delicious, and the interior was spacious and tastefully decorated.

07/09/2025: A superb gastronomic experience! We were a group of six and had a small, secluded room, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The cuisine is truly exquisite, with no faults in the seven courses of the menu we opted for, nor in the generous wine pairing (1 sparkling wine, 2 whites, 1 red, 1 sweet red). The service was attentive without being overbearing, which really helped make the experience unique. I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a gourmet meal in Rome.

05/09/2025: In short, the food was fine, but the service was subpar. (Please excuse my slightly broken Korean for the sake of translation.) Even though we were the first to arrive, we were shown to a room by the stairs. The back of that room was like a warehouse, a noisy area with staff constantly coming and going. Everyone else who was later shown to the main hall was seated, and we were the only ones in that room. Maybe it was because we were the only Asians? I felt a bit racist, lol. The staff were generally friendly, but some were a bit arrogant. The most unpleasant part was that when I was eating oysters, shells came out. When I told them about it, the staff said it was normal. I thought I'd complain if I found shells in oyster soup at the market, but they responded with, "Of course shells would come out. Do you want to wash your hands?" I was really taken aback;;; This was the third oyster dish of the seven-course meal, and I couldn't control my expression after that. The quail dish, which was the main course, was really delicious, but the rest was just okay. Anyway, we were seated in a small room by ourselves, so it was uncomfortable to sit in front of the warehouse. I was disappointed with the staff's response to my complaint. I'll never go back. 04/09/2025: "Lu Rusticone" is an excellent pizza by the slice located in the heart of town. The counter is huge and offers a wide selection, from classic pizzas to cold pizzas, including fried pizzas and baked calzones. The platter pictured cost €19 but included several slices of exquisite pizza. I particularly recommend the pizza with primosale cheese and cherry tomatoes and the cold one with salad, mayonnaise, and shrimp. Truly excellent!

31/08/2025: We tried this pizzeria on a Sunday evening in August. The wait was long, given the 30 people in front, but the service was very fast, and we were served earlier than expected. The place is quite chaotic, although this depends on the number of people inside. There are also counters where you can eat the pizzas on site. We tried many different types, and I can say that none of them disappointed. Many exceeded our expectations, with distinct flavors and a soft, light dough with a slightly crusty base. A cross between Roman and Neapolitan pizzas. I recommend trying the capricciosa, which is perhaps a little higher quality than the others. Pizzas are priced based on weight and type. The price is excellent for the quality. I recommend eating on the waterfront, given its proximity and peaceful atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

In some bars I've reviewed, lazy and ignorant bartenders add tonic from a wasted one-liter plastic bottle, opened hours ago and practically unused, and the lemon zest is optional... Cheers 🥂

03/07/2025: We came for lunch by chance because we were cooked by the Roman heat. The restaurant was empty, but it was worth it. The quality of the sashimi is excellent, as is the preparation of the huramaki and gunkan, don't be intimidated by the exterior of the restaurant. The interior is very well-kept and the food is good!

08/09/2025: A classic restaurant in the heart of Trastevere. Reservations are available, which in itself is a plus for me, as it avoids the long line outside. The restaurant's specialty is handmade pasta, rolled out right inside the restaurant. The quality is excellent, and the portions are generous. The service was very efficient and friendly; despite the large number of customers, the waiters made you feel pampered. The restaurant is very well-maintained and not too large. The only downside is that the tables are practically packed together to accommodate as many people as possible. The prices are in line with the area. I definitely recommend it and will be back to try other dishes.

Each dish showcased Italian tradition in an authentic way. Special thanks to Andrei, our waiter, who made the lunch even more unforgettable. He immediately understood that we were with a cousin from America, eager to experience a true Italian experience, and he accompanied us with professionalism, kindness, and so much attention. He even offered to let our cousin experience making fresh pasta with the chef, giving her a unique and authentic memory to take back to America. The atmosphere was cheerful, convivial, full of laughter and genuine emotions. Last but not least, the bill was fair and absolutely in line with the quality and quantity of the dishes, without any of the "tourist trap" exaggerations. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! Exceptional food, a warm welcome, and an experience that will stay with us forever. It's truly worth it! ❤️
