29/06/2025: Very fresh fish expertly prepared (and described) by the chef. Everything is excellent, starting from the bread and ending with the sorbets and ice creams. New and unusual combinations in a refined and sophisticated environment

26/06/2025: Outrageous! We ate several dishes in small portions, all bland, lacking flavor and preparation! The place is very ordinary, a modern house in the middle of nowhere, a 30-minute drive from Bologna. We were forced to eat outside on the terrace, even though the weather was very muggy and humid, stifling and full of mosquitoes, and we had explicitly stated, upon arrival, our wish to eat inside. There were only two of us, and the owner who welcomed us probably didn't want to turn on his air conditioning! But back to the dinner itself. The owner is very vague about the menu, which is imposed on you (the owner is very bossy and self-assured!!). There were lots of raw fish dishes, which was good news for us, with no preparation or accompaniment, simply placed on the plate. Something I could have done myself by going to a good fish market. Cooked fish, aside from being cooked, suffers the same fate. No preparation, no flavor. Now let's talk about the price. We paid €290 for two, with two glasses of a random white wine and a tea!!! That's €145 per person. My husband and I frequent many restaurants, including Michelin-starred restaurants (1, 2, and 3 stars), and we've rarely paid such a price for a less-than-standard meal. A huge rip-off! However, we ate very well during the same stay at a Michelin-starred restaurant near Ravenna, with a delicious, flavorful 7-course menu for a much lower price!!! There are so many more things to say, all more pathetic than that, like the €50 per person we had to pay when I made the reservation a month earlier. Even Michelin-starred restaurants don't operate like this!!! Avoid at all costs!!!!

05/10/2025: Here it is: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Perfect evening at Macine di Mirandola! Perfectly cooked meat, juicy and flavorful, with an aroma that captivates you even before you arrive at the table. Generous, quality side dishes, excellent wine (we had an Amarone), and impeccable service, thanks in part to the young man who managed our table and was able to advise us. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, ideal for both a dinner with friends (as was my case) and a special occasion. Oh, and a special shout-out to the waitresses: not only professional and smiling, but also very beautiful.

10/05/2025: Bakery with sweet and savory products in a small street in the center of Reggio Emilia. We took the local specialty, Erbazzone, in a lighter version, without garlic and lard and it was delicious! Very tasty thanks also to the parmesan in the preparation, it was also digestible. In particular, we were also struck by the kindness of the staff who, despite being rather crowded due to a festival taking place in the city, served each customer with care and kindness, even offering us some pizza samples while we waited. Passed with flying colors!

06/10/2025: We found this place by chance while strolling through Gatteo looking for something to eat (given the season, many restaurants have now finished their season). We entered, drawn by the atmosphere, which gave us a wonderful feeling of small, tidy, and lovingly run, and it was a wonderful discovery. Seeing the pizzas of other diners, we opted for the same choice. From the menu, we sensed a "Neapolitan" touch throughout. Proof of this came from the exquisite pizzas, carefully prepared, plentiful, and with excellent ingredients. Monica's (the owner's daughter) kindness was greatly appreciated; friendly and outgoing, she made us feel at ease, just what we were looking for. What can I say: well done, excellent family management, you undoubtedly deserve 5 stars. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely return to this place. Keep up the good work, congratulations. 28/09/2025: I'm returning to this restaurant after about 30 years (I'm not a local), and I have to say that the food hasn't changed at all...everything is as excellent and plentiful as it was back then, but naturally and inevitably, everything is better thanks to the renovation and expansion!!! The menu is rich and varied, and you can choose between fish and meat dishes...whatever you choose is delicious...the service is prompt, and the waiters are quick, friendly, and helpful at the slightest hint!!! I didn't have the chance to stay there because I was passing through, so I couldn't rate the room service, but if it's like the restaurant, it'll surely be impeccable and very well-maintained... Outside, not much has changed...there's still ample parking, and it's easily accessible from the highway exit... What can I say...not a positive experience, but a very positive one, and I hope to return again 🥰

21/09/2025: We ordered spaghetti with clams (not real, but tasty), mixed grill (the best dish and a good value) with a side of roast potatoes, and two pizzas (average). One minus was the wait for the grilled food, which was a bit excessive. Another minus was the bench seating, which became uncomfortable after a long wait. Gianni's remains a must-visit for anyone passing by on Viale Dante.

01/11/2025: The problem with this restaurant is the person at the cash register trying to make ends meet. Let me explain: 1 carbonara, 1 grilled turkey, 1 mixed salad, 2 quartini, and 2 coffees from the daily menu = €40. The cashier manages to turn a (half-daily menu) into a full à la carte menu. He should be thankful that I was distracted and on an international conference call while I was paying, but I'll definitely never return. Always be wary of the midday scammers.

06/09/2025: We stopped by for lunch. The restaurant is welcoming and well-kept. It offers a refined selection of seafood dishes, including a special oyster menu. The fried fish is excellent. The owner was friendly and made us feel welcome; we'll definitely be back.

06/08/2025: On the outskirts of Bologna a beautiful encounter with the fish restaurant Il Setaccio. We tasted their proposal on crudi, hot and cold appetizers, as well as a plate of paccheri with crabs and another with seafood sauce. These dishes expertly prepared by the chef and of great quality are a delight for the palate; Owner and staff very kind, knowledgeable and very professional. Simple, comfortable and very elegant location. A real surprise, as you wouldn't think so from the outside. With tagliatelle with meat sauce even children will be satisfied 😉 ****** We returned to Setaccio to encounter other "Marine suggestions" and we found them with a truly special crustacean Catalan with lobster and fried Moeche (little crabs with very soft shells).

24/09/2025: Trattoria 3 km from Loiano in Roncastaldo (I think it serves 6 or 7 people) in the Bolognese Apennines. Fairly typical first courses, mountain crescentine, huge and slightly crunchy...all decent for 25-30 euros. The wine by the glass is good.

03/09/2025: Excellent value for money. The 30-40 cm crescentina is truly excellent (fragrant and not very greasy). I highly recommend it. The cured meats, pickled vegetables, and so on are all delicious. The service is excellent. The location is quiet. I highly recommend it.
