06/05/2026: What a lovely discovery this restaurant was, tucked away from the bustling streets of Naples! Intimate atmosphere, only about ten tables, excellent service, and above all, delicious food! We tried the octopus salad, the pasta alla nerone, the pasta alle vongole, and the seafood pasta, and everything was superb. Thank you to the front-of-house and kitchen staff!
05/05/2026: When you walk through the doors of Osteria da Carmela, you're immediately struck by the joyful, Neapolitan commotion. This place has that rare, authentic soul that can't be faked. It's not just a restaurant; it's a love letter to Campania. Let me tell you about what happened at our table. Act One: Seafood and Tradition We started with Impepata di Cozze. Simplicity at its purest. Mussels, black pepper, a hint of lemon. When they lift the lid, the steam hits you in the face with the scent of the Tyrrhenian Sea. There's something primal and utterly brilliant about it. You need nothing more than a piece of bread to mop up the aromatic broth from the bottom of the bowl. Then came the pastas. The gnocchi alla Sorrentina were... well, they were like little, fluffy clouds bathed in sunlight. That tomato sauce? Sweet, deep, with a chewy mozzarella that makes you forget the world for a moment. And the Linguine allo Scoglio? It was a feast. Every bite of pasta was infused with the essence of seafood. It tastes as if the chef had simply gone to the port in the morning and asked the sea, "What do you have for us today?" Main Course and Sweet Finale For the second course – Calamaro alla Brace. Grilled squid. Sounds simple, right? But the devil is in the details. Delicate, with that perfect hint of grilled smoke that highlights, rather than overpowers, the natural sweetness of the mollusk. This is the essence of Italian cuisine: not to disturb the ingredients. Finally, Dessert della Casa. Homemade, leisurely, prepared with such tenderness, as if your own nonna were making it for you. Verdict "This is food that makes you want to talk with your hands, laugh louder, and order another bottle of local wine." If you're looking for glitz and white gloves, go elsewhere. But if you want to feel the heartbeat of Naples on a plate, go to Carmela. It was... simply exceptional. *Bellissimo.*

20/05/2026: Grandpa's birthday lunch last Sunday at this restaurant. A family-friendly place, attentive service, and truly interesting dishes, from appetizers to dessert. I'll definitely be back for dinner to try their pizza. I highly recommend it.

Congratulations to Gennaro, who chose this way of doing business, and to the ability of his entire team, from the chef to the dining room staff, to follow him... the traditional cuisine is reinterpreted in a more contemporary way, depriving it of its classic heaviness but enriching it with freshness and delicious flavors. I don't recommend anything in particular, having tasted several first courses and appetizers, all worthy of seconds. Congratulations, and see you soon!

02/05/2026: I went with my family to celebrate my birthday in a casual setting, and this is a pizzeria with a welcoming, well-kept atmosphere, perfect for both dinner and a quiet evening with friends. The pizza is simply excellent! The dough is well-leavened, light and easy to digest, with quality ingredients. The fried foods are excellent, tasty, with a crispy and harmonious breading. The staff is kind, attentive, and smiling, and the service is excellent without being intrusive. There was no wait; everything was perfect, based on the time each table needed, even though the place was busy on a Wednesday. 02/05/2026: After about a year, I regretfully have to change my review. I've almost always had my pizza here, but lately I feel the pizzeria has changed. The pizza, while excellent (certainly among the best in the province), I find it a bit too oily. The seasonal version, always with a double consistency, is a bit predictable in my opinion. Overall, it's not to my taste, but it's fair to say (this didn't affect the review; it's a separate note). The atmosphere is a bit chaotic and noisy; often, between the noise and loud music, it's difficult to even hear the other person at the table. Table service remains fairly quick, attentive, and courteous despite the busy schedule. The main factor contributing to the negative review is poor communication regarding reservations, as I twice found myself having to pay for parking and then not finding a spot. On Saturdays, reservations are available at 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM. This, anywhere in the world, should mean that there are a limited number of free tables available for seating at 8:00 PM sharp or with a 10-minute grace period; instead, it apparently means that you have to book at 8:00 PM if you want to eat at 8:30 PM, to the detriment of those who, wanting to eat between 8:30 and 9:00 PM, sign up at 8:20 PM, perhaps expecting a 30 or 40-minute wait, but instead end up with a two-hour wait, because at 8:30 PM they're still taking 8:00 PM reservations.
