On Wednesday evening, I shared dinner with colleagues at Ristorante Grotta di Aligi in L’Aquila, and it was a truly memorable experience. A welcoming atmosphere, soft lighting, and attentive yet unobtrusive service: the perfect place to gather and enjoy.
We began with a selection of local cured meats and cheeses: fragrant, balanced, and carefully presented.
Next, a warm and enveloping chickpea, chestnut, and mushroom soup, rich in authentic flavors.
The first course, a chitarra pasta with ricotta, guanciale, and pecorino cheese, won everyone over: a perfect harmony of softness and savory flavors.
The braised veal in Montepulciano was tender and flavorful, accompanied by potatoes and sautéed chicory that complemented the dish impeccably.
And to finish, a light and delicious cream of fresh fruit, served elegantly.
Sincere thanks to Mario, the owner, for his passion for his work, and applause to the entire staff, especially the lady who welcomed us with kindness and attention. You can sense the teamwork and the desire to make every guest feel at home.
Highly recommended for those seeking a true local cuisine experience in a refined and convivial setting.

02/12/2025: I'm thrilled to share my experience at La Giara Art, a Neapolitan pizzeria in Gallipoli that's a true paradise for pizza lovers! The dough is handmade daily, leavened for at least 24 hours, and the flour used is type 1, derived from locally grown wheat.
*The Food*
The pizzas are true works of art, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I tried the special pizza, and it was a real treat! The appetizers and main courses are also excellent, with dishes like the sliced beef with pistachios and stracciatella.
*The Service*
The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to recommend the perfect dish. The owner is also very friendly and takes great care of his customers.
*The Atmosphere*
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, perfect for an evening with friends or a romantic dinner.

07/09/2025: For our first time on holiday in Silvi, we were lucky enough to book at Lido Iris and we're thrilled. Everything was perfect, from the welcome from the host Lorenzo, who made us feel right at home, to the impeccable staff, all very kind and courteous, the well-kept and clean beach, and the fantastic sea. What can I say, Lorenzo, see you next year!!! From now on, our holidays in Silvi will only be at Lido Iris, thank you so much 🙏

16/11/2025: We ate nothing better, very well, genuine cuisine with real flavours, attentive staff, fast service... we ate a trio of delicious bruschetta starters, a trio of first courses, one better than the other: ravioli with ragù, spaghetti alla chitarra with ragù and fettuccine with mushrooms and peas, all strictly homemade and you could taste it, for the second course, mixed grill, excellent, pan-fried vegetables, French fries and to finish they offered us a delicious homemade dessert, what can I say... highly recommended

05/11/2025: We came here for lunch during our visit to Chieti at the suggestion of our b&b’s owner. They were booked for dinner so we went for lunch and were so glad we did. Everything was wonderful, the views, the food, the service!! We left extremely full and happy. It’s a fixed menu with a set price. We had a bit of trouble finding the restaurant so we walked there from another location after asking for directions.

Chalet Numero 7

30/11/2025: A few days ago, on a Saturday morning bathed in glorious sunshine and embellished with the snowfall of the previous days, we decided to visit Chalet Numero 7 in Valle Castellana, a place opened in 2018 that I'd long wanted to explore but had never found the right opportunity. Upon arriving in Valle Castellana, we were immediately captivated by the landscape: snow-capped mountains, clear air, and a small, human-scale village, quiet and charming despite the still-visible scars of the 2016 earthquake. After a short stroll through its narrow streets, we reached the chalet, a delightful wooden structure in the heart of the village. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by Romolo, the owner, and his wife Stefania, who is passionate about cooking. The intimate and welcoming dining room immediately conveys a sense of familiarity. Leafing through the menu, we paused to read the story of the chalet's birth: a touching, exemplary, and replete with determination, truly deserving of applause.
Our lunch began with a rich house antipasto, consisting of six hot and cold mushroom-based courses. The bruschetta with melted cheese and fresh truffle was sublime, as was the scrambled egg with truffle, with its intense and authentic aromas. The porcini mushroom salad with pink peppercorns and parmesan was exquisite, the chickpea and chestnut soup was delicate, the roasted porcini mushroom buds spectacular, and the bruschetta with grilled porcini mushrooms and lard and chestnuts was excellent. Romolo, with great expertise, guided us on a true gastronomic journey, advising us step by step.
We then sampled two truly extraordinary first courses: a ravioli with chestnut gricia, surprisingly delicate, and tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and guanciale, which to call "out of this world" is almost an understatement. For second courses, we opted for a grilled lamb and mutton, cooked to perfection over the coals, with a genuine and bold flavor. The famous roasted porcini mushrooms, a must-try at the chalet, couldn't be missed, with their unique and irresistible flavor. We also tried the fried lamb cutlet, which was truly spectacular. At this point, we were almost done, but we wanted to end on a sweet note with some delicious cantucci biscuits accompanied by house vino cotto, an excellent chestnut tart, and, to finish, Romolo's artisanal gentian, a perfect digestif and a fitting end to a memorable lunch. The house red wine was also excellent, fragrant and ideal for accompanying all the courses.
Romolo's service was simply excellent: his friendliness, warmth, love for what he does, and attentiveness to his guests transform a stay at the chalet into a truly special experience. The quality of the ingredients, the authenticity of the flavors, and the attention to every detail make this place unique. Sincere congratulations to Romolo and Stefania, who with resourcefulness and courage have brought their dream to life, fully realizing it. It was an unforgettable lunch for all of us, and we're sure we'll be back soon for another delightful experience. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff, and congratulations again!
