HOWEVER, even though I booked and paid for the stay in full, my boyfriend was asked to sign the dinner bill. The bill had his name on it.
Beware of these kinds of "details" in 2026.
In general:
3-star room. Shower particularly dated.
Pool and hot tub water lukewarm, verging on cool.
08/02/2026: We spent two wonderful days at Hotel Bad Schörgau shortly after Christmas, staying in a premium suite.
We would especially like to highlight the exceptionally good food: creative, regionally inspired, and of a very high culinary standard – every dish was a delight. We were equally impressed by the team: the staff are courteous, warm, and attentive. You feel welcome and personally cared for from the very first moment.
The hotel itself is a small, special place that exudes tranquility, style, and authenticity. Everywhere you look, you can sense the owner's attention to detail and personal touch – a place you'll want to return to.

14/04/2026: Had a great evening at Bistrot Del Duca. The food was delicous, the owner was very kind and the restaurant is very intimate/snug. Our dog was also welcome! I would really recommend this restaurant, one of the best places I have ever been to.

13/03/2026: Delicious food! The staff was very kind. We triend spaghetti with guanciale (it also had pear in it i think which was a beautiful touch), and then polpette (meatballs) with potato cream. The potato cream was very delicious, I had to scrape the bottom with bread. ☺️
Definitely recommended 👌🏼
I like that the menu has limited things which feels more special. Also a good wine selection.

17/02/2026: It's always a guarantee. We had a mixed seafood appetizer and spaghetti with clams, and to finish, strawberries with cream and apple in Strega sauce. Everything was delicious.
I went back today for lunch. It's always a guarantee. We had two appetizers, two first courses, a fried dish, water, dessert, and coffee. Everything was delicious, and the staff were very friendly.

21/03/2026: Casa del Popolo – which, as the name suggests, means 'House of the People'. It's a cosy, friendly place with truly delicious food and the most welcoming staff we've met in Trieste.
We arrived quite early, and the fantastic waitress who welcomed us was incredibly friendly, instantly solving our problem of being too hungry. We got some delicious antipasti until the whole place came alive.
All the food we've got it's worth climbing the hill; it's worth the price, and it's worth every euro cent.
If you spend some time in Trieste, let's get some fully authentic triesten seafood here.

20/04/2026: We had a divine dinner on the outdoor terrace, under a beautiful wisteria and with relaxing music in the background. A truly rejuvenating atmosphere.
The cuisine is a true discovery: the chef offers sophisticated dishes, using spectacular cooking techniques that showcase excellent ingredients.
The menu expertly blends Piedmontese tradition with international influences, creating a balance of flavors that is surprising and never boring.
A place where technique meets the heart of the region. Definitely worth a try!
08/03/2026: Another great culinary experience from Chef Rao. A unique journey through traditional Piedmontese dishes revisited in a Chiana fusion style, with influences from the cultures the chef encountered in his explorations of the world.
Piedmontese ravioli become wonderful ghioza, tiramisu becomes a sushi roll, and so on.
The sliced beef steak was, unfortunately, perhaps the least successful dish.

12/02/2026: A renowned specialized grill restaurant with a diverse selection of meats. Excellent, friendly, and helpful service. They also offer a whiskey fat wash flavored with grilled meat. Definitely worth a try! The price for a 1kg Florentine steak is reasonable.
