09/06/2025: This place stole my heart and became one of my top ten in Trieste. Located in one of the most populated neighborhoods of Trieste, this is definitely an oasis of peace and silence. Birds chirping while you eat local fish delicacies. Worth noting is the quality of the sauces for the first courses which, in addition to being plentiful, were also homemade and tasty. However, the dosage of the ingredients is another of the strong points of this tavern. There is great attention to the simplicity of the flavors so that they are not saturated by the condiments. The dessert is also very good, the special tiramisu cake. Good service.

17/05/2025: Cena ieri sera con un amico viziato come me per quando riguarda cibo. Cosa dire...la prima volta pensi di aver scelto i piatti giusti...la seconda anche...ma dopo 5 o 6 cene capisci che qualsiasi piatto sceglieresti dal menù sarebbe il top. Abbinamenti sempre perfetti dove anche il più particolare degli ingredienti si abbina a tutti gli altri in un esplosione di sapore. Sempre eccellenti i piccoli assaggi e il vermut di benvenuto e il pre dessert che sono offerti dal ristorante. Servizio molto attento ma mai invadente. Voto sempre 10 Laura e Bruno

15/04/2025: Cuando decidimos visitar Italia, también nos comprometimos a probar una serie de restaurantes con estrellas Michelin (disfrutamos, y tenemos suerte, de tener una serie de lugares excelentes aquí en Chicago). Hicimos reservas para seis (! ) restaurantes con estrellas, dos cada uno en Nápoles, Florencia y Roma. Il Pagliaccio es un restaurante de dos estrellas, con un íntimo 10 mesas (y un restaurante privado). Ofrecen dos menús degustación para la cena, con 5 u 11 (en nuestro caso, con el menú otoño/invierno) opciones de platos. Sin menú a la carta. Como siempre, seleccionamos el menú degustación más grande, y el maridaje de vinos estándar. El comedor tiene mesas de madera desnudas con focos en la parte superior, un suelo de baldosa de tablero de ajedrez y asientos para banquetas y sillas. El comedor se divide en dos secciones, un gran arco que forma la línea divisoria. La cena comenzó de una manera caprichosa: 4 uno - morder artículos presentados entre dos ramas pintadas de oro. Sus habilidades de servicio fueron puestas a prueba durante este curso. Uno de los bocados fue un "plato" de galletas muy delgado lleno de remolacha picada - mi esposa lo recogió de los lados y se rompió justo en el medio, derramando el contenido sobre la mesa. Los servidores limpiaron rápidamente el accidente, y antes de que hubiéramos terminado el curso, sacaron un artículo fresco (que se recogió con mucho cuidado y se comió sin incidentes). Un curso de ostras con manzana y mozzarella fue acompañado por un inesperado lado de "candy floss" (algodón de azúcar). El pez monje con kiwi, alcaparras y anchoa fue el plato destacado. Disfrutamos de los maridajes de vinos, donde de nuevo algunos vinos se sirven a través de dos platos. Nuestra experiencia duró un poco más de 3 horas. Quizás nos quemaron un poco los restaurantes de alta cocina, siendo esta nuestra sexta visita, pero no sentimos que la noche cumpliera con nuestras expectativas.

13/04/2025: We were guests for 1 night, we had booked 3 weeks before specifically asking for the Genziana room with the canopy bed for a romantic birthday weekend. Despite confirmation taking place both on the phone and via email, upon our arrival the room had been assigned to other guests of Casa Fontana. The only alternative proposed (besides their inappropriate suggestion to change the structure, which was infeasible at 5.30pm) was a standard room (at the same cost) with 2 single beds and without a balcony. Despite their admission of the error (which can happen), nothing was done to remedy the inconvenience, neither an apology nor a discount (extra payment of a coke and a bitter of 9 euros in total was required). Very nice location, shame about the welcome and lack of customer attention. P.S. There is no WiFi and the connection is poor.

31/05/2025: Always a pleasure to come back! Informal and well-kept environment, attentive and fast service, excellent dishes, well prepared and well presented. A plus is the open kitchen with the horseshoe-shaped counter where you can eat. Good choice of wines.

28/05/2025: All the dishes were delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service was spectacular. They were very kind to us, traveling from far away. We went for lunch and dinner, and we'll be back when we can. 🥳🥳👏💕💕🥰

22/05/2025: Restaurant specializing in meats, where "grill" is the key word. Although located a little out of the way, near the airport, it was a discovery. Very nice and well-kept environment, both outside and inside, without too many pretensions, but welcoming. Very kind staff. Small but concentrated menu, with many reinterpretations and super specialties that I had never found before; great variety of meats to choose from for the second courses. Superlative treatment of both raw and cooked meat. The tartare was out of this world, among the best I have ever eaten. The meat was delicious, super tasty and cooked just right (we had asked for it rare). Small negative note: service overall a little slow. The prices are not cheap, but all in all they correspond to the quality of what is offered. If you love meat and want to have a culinary experience that rewards taste and quality, regardless of your wallet, this is a place to try!

21/05/2025: Eccellente, semplicemente eccellente. Ci sono stato diverse volte, sempre ottimo, ieri sera credo di avere mangiato come mai fatto in vita mia. Antipasti perfetti, bistecca superlativa, pane ottimo, contorni perfetti. Dico solo che dopo tutto ciò, invece che indugiare sul dolce, abbiamo preso ancora un antipasto. Grazie grazie grazie

05/06/2025: Prices almost like a starred restaurant, but the quality is still far from those levels. Some dishes are excellent (like the spaghetti with mussels), others are beautiful but not very tasty (like the oriental red mullet), none are brilliant or surprising. The service is a bit chaotic and cumbersome, formal but not particularly attentive to understanding the needs of the customers. The strangest thing is that the waiters did not present the dishes they were serving us, and when we asked for explanations they did not know how to respond adequately; so we did not know what we were eating, also because the menus published on the website are completely different from those that were proposed to us. Well done to the sommelier, who offers a menu adequate in terms of variety, research on the territory and pairings. Panoramic terrace, but with a view of the ferry terminal. Final bill of 140 euros for those who had taken the tasting menu and about 75 euros for those who had eaten à la carte, so I recommend this second option.

07/06/2025: We were drawn in by the refinement of the place. The staff was very pleasant. The wine was very good too. Unfortunately, the tuna and swordfish dishes were more than disappointing and the endive accompaniment was disgusting after a few bites. What a shame!

06/06/2025: Loved the courtyard setting. The service was excellent and our food was fresh and tasty. The prosciutto and melon was very filling and generous portion of prosciutto. The ravioli was done just right. Not a huge wine selection but plenty of good choices. Our server Aexandro was the best. Made the evening even more enjoyable.

19/04/2025: Posto molto accogliente, nella parte esterna hai uno scorcio sul golfo che ti fa gustare il tuo aperitivo con delle vibes assurde, per non parlare del personale gentile e disponibile, io ho avuto il piacere di conoscere Francesco ragazzo molto preparato che mi ha saputo consigliare il drink giusto in questa località meravigliosa, consiglio assolutamente di passare per passare una bella serata

06/06/2025: Fantastic food and beautiful setting, but that's not enough for a good restaurant. after my appetizer I got distracted answering some emails, when I realized they had forgotten my order about 20 minutes had passed and when they served me they had reversed the courses. I lost about half an hour of work but the thing that makes me sad is that a similar event happened to me in the past in this restaurant.

08/05/2025: Everything was perfect… wellness, cuisine, friendliness and professionalism! You feel welcome and very comfortable as a guest. The hotel is an experience, a great combination of old and new while incorporating nature. A highlight is the 30 degree outdoor pool, which can be used even in bad weather. The kitchen is fantastic and the staff is extremely friendly!

28/04/2025: I can recommend the hotel to anyone who likes quality, down-to-earth luxury, well-being and service excellence... simply everything a 12/10! We'll definitely be back and are so happy that we ended up there completely by chance.
