I've been going to Osteria Sociale Casa del Popolo for years, and it's always a sure thing for me. An authentic place, with a genuine atmosphere that's hard to find these days. Here, you feel at home, with well-prepared traditional dishes, generous portions, and quality ingredients. Every time, it's a confirmation: sincere cuisine, good wine, and a simple yet incredibly welcoming atmosphere. It's one of those places you'll want to return to because you know you'll eat well and feel great. If you're passing through Trieste, it's one of those places definitely worth a try. Considering we arrived late, they welcomed us very warmly. The food was delicious. Their house wine was pleasant and fruity.

A friend told me: "I'll take you to a simple little place where you eat well and it's not expensive... and he was absolutely right! A typical osteria with very nice girls who serve you with a smile and make you happy just by looking at them. You eat outside under a beautiful tree, the food is excellent and the price is very fair, to say the least. I'll be back soon; I have to try what I haven't tried on the menu. I went back and tried the lard tart, the artichoke lasagna, and the Sacher torte... exceptional! Kudos to the service! I'm back again: scallops, sardines in savor, and spaghetti with fish sauce. Chocolate cake with raspberries: super! I'm back again! Linguine with zucchini and shrimp, mussels, creamed cod (excellent), and the final fried dish, tender as butter!

We ate really well in a genuine, welcoming, and simple setting. I'd say it's from another era. With a unique, serene atmosphere where you feel at ease. The restaurant is located in a popular area of ​​Trieste and perfectly captures its essence. A true osteria, with cuisine that's absolutely faithful to Triestine tradition. The fish dishes are also excellent, both first and second courses. And the gnocchi... they taste like gnocchi, with a potato flavor, right from another era. The staff is exquisite, discreet and kind. The service is quick, consistent with the time needed to prepare dishes that truly live up to expectations. Generous portions. Affordable prices and in line with the quality of the dishes. Delicious, very authentic Italian food. The dessert was the best pannacotta with caramel I've ever had 😋😋

Casa del Popolo – which, as the name suggests, means 'House of the People'. It's a cosy, friendly place with truly delicious food and the most welcoming staff we've met in Trieste. We arrived quite early, and the fantastic waitress who welcomed us was incredibly friendly, instantly solving our problem of being too hungry. We got some delicious antipasti until the whole place came alive. All the food we've got it's worth climbing the hill; it's worth the price, and it's worth every euro cent.
