25/09/2025: Having been to Grado once a year since 2019, a meal at Il Canavon is simply a must...we made a reservation through the hotel as usual. When we arrived...quickly, "have a reservation." Yes, we'd like to sit outside, there were three tables free...No, it's not possible, you have to sit inside...fine. After a long wait, a waiter came with an iPad. There were four of us and we wanted to pay separately, which was a bit inconvenient. In the meantime, other guests, including us, took their seats and received their drinks before us...service was surly, curt, and you felt like you were disturbing anyone. The food wasn't bad, but it was poorly presented...the shrimp hadn't had their intestines removed, which wasn't very appetizing...oh well. When paying...the waiter said, "Go to the cashier, I don't know who's paying with cash or card"...even though it had been agreed upon beforehand. We were very disappointed and are considering going back in the future. There are plenty of options in Grado...a real shame, because the place is really great. We were really looking forward to this evening, especially to showing our friends this restaurant. P.S. We noticed that the management doesn't respond to reviews, neither positive nor negative.

24/09/2025: Update 2025: After eating here for many years, this time the service was so unwilling and without a smile that we (there were four of us this time) wondered what was causing so much grumpiness. OMG, rolling eyes, no drinks served for a long time, probably a mistake by the chef who didn't devein the shrimp, and then a harsh tone when paying. A few streets away, we had friendly service and excellent food on three evenings. So we know where they won't want to see us again in the future, what a pity for this lovely restaurant! Previous reviews... we've liked it here for years and have always been satisfied. Lovely courtyard in a narrow alley.

10/07/2025: I'm giving it one star only because the review requires a rating. However, I don't recommend it; the staff is arrogant and unfriendly, not to mention the service is awful.

20/05/2025: Basándonos en varias reseñas de Hendrick_NL, decidimos darle una oportunidad a este restaurante para el almuerzo. Y me alegro de haberlo hecho, porque nos demostró lo que es esencialmente la versión italiana de un restaurante estadounidense. Buena comida rápida a precios económicos. ¡Ahora entendemos dónde van los italianos a almorzar!

05/09/2025: Food and Service was excellent, but the restaurant if you don’t order takeout isn’t the top of the iceberg.

22/08/2025: A quick snack bar with a few tables, so you can also eat in. The food was good and came quickly, but they only use plastic/wooden dishes, which are disposable, which I don't think is good for the environment. The food was tasty, but a bit oily. We didn't want sushi, so we had the food from the wok. The service was friendly, and dogs are allowed. Just under €9 for a portion from the wok.

27/05/2025: I just took 3 fried meatballs and 3 breaded eggplants for takeout... The meatballs: the first one had pieces of hard plastic inside one of the pieces of dark meat and the other one was thrown away... The eggplants: the first one completely without salt the second one tasted rotten I think and the third one together with the second one I threw away. Let's hope we don't get sick. I think places like this should close. Obviously one star because zero is not possible.

12/08/2025: Exceptional gelato, a sensational product, the result of the use of top-quality raw materials, the love, study, and skills developed by the award-winning master gelato maker Ceschin. The extraordinary result is undermined by the inconsistent service, by the impossibility/possibility of purchasing a tasting based on 1/2 scoops??! There are obvious difficulties and confusion in the customer service. The picture is completed by the disarming rudeness, rudeness, and ostentatious attitude of a counter attendant, who transmits resentment and irritation, irreparably tainting the experience and the transcendent moment of pleasure. This is why I've avoided the place for years, and anyone I discuss it with agrees with the same disappointment and negative experience. I do not recommend.

30/08/2025: JUST EATEN PIZZA! I've been looking for months for a pizzeria that delivers and does it the old-fashioned way (i.e., no JustEat, Deliveroo, etc.), and I finally found it! Light and delicious dough (perhaps a little too salty—something I've noticed at other pizzerias, too... is that a Udine thing? 🤔-), excellent ingredients. The panzerotto looks excellent, not particularly greasy, and smells great. Delivered in 30 minutes, but I wasn't concerned about the time, so I didn't schedule a specific time. WELL DONE!

07/08/2025: Es gibt viele positive Aspekte dieses Lokals: Verlässliche Öffnungszeiten (in Porto San Rocco nicht selbstverständlich), herzliche Eigentümerfamilie, vernünftige Preise und tolle Lage. Die Pizzeria bietet eine große Auswahl an wirklich köstlichen Pizzen. Die Trattoria-Karte ist ordentlich, aber leider werden (zu) viele Convenience-Produkte serviert, was wirklich schade ist. Sie sind nicht schlecht, aber man merkt die Massenware. Die Getränkeauswahl ist einfach, birgt aber kleine nette Überraschungen wie die Biere der südtiroler Brauerei Forst.

27/07/2025: Che bello!!!! Ambiente familiare, Simonetta una proprietaria che ti fa sentire a casa. Il mangiare? Che si mangia puzza , pesce è veramente fotonico. Ho mangiato una pasta con gli scampi ( giganti) che era fotonica!! Non lo consiglio... LO STRACONSIGLIO. Complimenti a tutti. Torneremo presto

07/09/2025: Today, September 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM, my friends and I went to this bar downtown. When it was time to leave, I was the first to go to the cashier: I only paid for two Coke Zeros and one regular, while I still had two more regulars to pay for. I told the bartender I didn't remember the table number, and she replied casually, "No problem, I don't know either, but it doesn't matter." She charged me €10.50. The surprise came only later in the evening: when my friends left, one of them offered to pay for everything, and the bartender charged her €17.50, meaning she charged me two Coke Zeros and three regulars, without taking into account that I had already paid part of it. Essentially, we paid double. We realized this too late to ask for a correction, but it still leaves a bad impression: lack of attention and superficial handling of the bill.

17/08/2025: I don't come here very often, but when I do, I'm always happy. Alberto is quite friendly, but he's also very efficient and knowledgeable. When I go back, it's usually very pleasant. It's a shame about the music; it used to be more sophisticated and enjoyable.

14/10/2025: Very expensive pizza, but I'd say no to calling it pizza! Low-quality ingredients, small pizza, and high prices—it's just not the right thing! I'm sorry.

06/10/2025: If I could, I'd give it 0 stars. Why? I'd be happy to explain. We (6 people) arrived at this "restaurant" after a really long and hot day in Trieste. We wanted to sit at a table for 8 because it was in the shade. We weren't allowed to—there are too few of us. Strangely, the place was completely empty except for one other table. So we had to sit in the sun and were treated unfriendly and condescendingly from the start. The icing on the cake was when, after 5 minutes, a family of 5 came and were allowed to sit at that table. Since we were hungry and thirsty, we stayed, and that was our next mistake. The food is inedible: wobbly pizza with careless toppings, and the pasta tastes like fish—odd for Bolognese. Parmesan cheese would have been nice, too. I can only warn against this place and advise everyone to skip it 👌
