18/01/2026: Excellent experience. We loved everything about it, from the venue to the food, and the service. The atmosphere is typical of a tavern, as it should be. The wine selection is beautiful and vast; we didn't try the spirits, but we noticed a few very good bottles. There were four of us and we wanted to try everything: mixed appetizers, typical Maremma first courses (the tagliolini with truffle and venison prague were exquisite), Florentine steak for the main course, side dishes, and desserts. Everything was perfect, the price was in line with the quantity and quality of the food. I absolutely recommend it ;)

27/08/2025: Pereta is a gem, and the restaurant was fantastic—both for its location, recommendations, and extremely kind staff—and the excellent food. My favorite dish: suckling pig! The prices are old-fashioned. We recommend booking.

05/01/2026: The restaurant is divided into rooms with different styles, all very warm and welcoming. The staff is truly friendly and knowledgeable. They are always courteous and attentive, while respecting the customer's space. The food is excellent, with meticulous attention to detail that makes every dish special. I tried a superb raw ham and meat tartare, and a first course of ricotta and spinach-filled ravioli with ragù, which were truly delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and the fresh pasta with the delicate filling was exquisite. The desserts were also wonderful and unique. In short, if there had been 10 stars, I would have given them for everything, from the food to the very kind staff. Congratulations on your professionalism and dedication.

I'm not a wine expert, so I left the selection to the waitress, but I have to say the fruity red was delicious! The quality/price ratio was absolutely right. I highly recommend this experience. 18/01/2026: We journeyed two hours from Assisi to reach this hidden gem, and the experience was worth every kilometer. Pitgliano, the town itself, is an absolute spell rising from the rock. And the food here? Pure art on a plate. The kitchen at Trattoria Il Grillo treats food as storytelling. The Cinta Senese, a traditional Tuscan specialty, prepared in a pistachio crust with fig sauce and caramelized spring onions, was an unexpected symphony of texture and taste, both rustic and refined. The tortelli with ricotta and spinach in meat sauce was a masterclass in comfort. And then there was another pasta, its name escapes me, with crispy cabbage, the kind of dish that makes you slow down to savor every bite. Even the house wine was a delight and perfectly matched to the meal. Just for having a meal here, it’s worth the drive. We’ll certainly be back to explore more of the menu.

The menu is a tribute to true Maremma cuisine: flavorful, well-crafted dishes, without unnecessary modern constraints. The homemade first courses are excellent, from Maremma tortelli to pici with game ragù, always rich and flavorful. The meat-based second courses, especially the wild boar, are cooked to perfection and reflect the region in every bite. The side dishes and desserts are also excellent, simple but made to perfection. The real added value, however, is the welcome: family-run, the service is friendly, genuine, and never rushed. You feel like a guest, not a customer. The quality-price ratio is absolutely right, especially considering the portions and the quality of the ingredients. A sincere, no-frills restaurant that keeps tradition alive and makes you want to return. Highly recommended for those seeking the authentic Maremma, both in the food and in the atmosphere.

03/01/2026: A quaint restaurant within the town walls. Fast and courteous service. Excellent food, from pappardelle with wild boar to fried lamb! Lemon sorbet and liqueur are on the house. Fair prices. Highly recommended! Reservations are required!

07/01/2026: The owner is very kind and friendly. We got along well even though we don't speak Italian. The appetizer of crostini and pickled vegetables is delicious. All the meat dishes are good, and the ravioli, although it looks like a small portion, is quite filling. The fries were very good too. The pandoro dessert, a Christmas special and homemade, was delicious. The town of Montepescali is charming and very peaceful.

02/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant a month ago. The atmosphere was lovely. The menu was extensive and appealing. The tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and the wild boar cacciatore were very good. The desserts were also delicious, all homemade. The service was a little disorganized, but that's okay!

09/01/2026: We've been to this restaurant several times. Every time we stay at the Saturnia Resort. Unfortunately, this time, even though we tried to book at the end of September for November 1st, they decided not to accept our reservation. We were 10 adults. All with gold credit cards (in case the owner had any doubts). He replied, "Things have changed." Well, change them as you wish. We'll never come again, not even when we spent €1,000 as a couple in low season. Maybe it's convenient for us to be ripped off during those periods. I recommend "La Stellata" to everyone. The owner is also friendly and welcoming.

30/12/2025: I've been coming here for four years and I give 5 stars to the waiters, 5 stars to the place (which I think is one of the nicest there is), 5 stars to the owner, who I've always had a great experience with. It's a shame I can only give 5 stars and not more. The best restaurant I've ever eaten at, both for the gluten-free option and the classic option. Everything is fresh and excellent.
