15/09/2025: A typical Maremma restaurant. The place is beautiful, welcoming, and warm. We ate excellent food, including an amazing Florentine steak that melted in our mouths! The staff was friendly, smiling, and ready to offer any description of the dishes. The wine recommendation was excellent, and the dessert was superb! The price was fair considering the quality of the products.
They even accepted our beagle.

27/08/2025: Pereta is a gem, and the restaurant was fantastic—both for its location, recommendations, and extremely kind staff—and the excellent food.
My favorite dish: suckling pig!
The prices are old-fashioned.

The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable.
The waitress is always kind and ready to accommodate your every need.
But the highlight of the restaurant is the food. One word: SUPERLATIVE...
Everything was perfect... Thank you for your hospitality, we'll definitely be back...

The restaurant faces the aqueduct, and the interior is charming, quaint, and welcoming, just like the owners. Local dishes are well-executed, full of flavor and history. So good that when one of our daughters asked for a second helping of the ravioli, the owner and the kitchen staff jumped with joy and in disbelief, because the dish was so generous. It's a shame we weren't able to eat inside the grotto. We said goodbye.

The owner is extremely kind in his presentation of the dishes, and the atmosphere is very welcoming.
16/10/2025: A bit expensive. Small portions, generally speaking, aren't very generous.
If you order meats like Fiorentina or other steaks, they come without any sides, and then you pay €6-7 each for the side dishes, but they're tiny pebbles of beans, onions, herbs, or potatoes. I'd suggest either including at least one per person or setting them at no more than €4. Otherwise, you'll spend almost €30 for the side dishes alone, or you can order them much larger because the portions are too small.
Inattentive and slow service.

25/10/2025: Excellent trattoria! It's a winding road to get there from Grosseto or Castiglion d'Pescaia, in a village from another era, but it's absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is small and old-fashioned, but charming and welcoming. The anduia on the tables is a reminder of the origins of the kind and friendly host, the true leader of the restaurant. Friendly, fast, and knowledgeable service, excellent dishes, from the first courses with mushrooms or wild boar sauce, which is present in various dishes. The second courses are also top-notch, all top-notch. Pure spectacle! Good prices, not expensive. A staple of Maremma cuisine. Unmissable.

24/10/2025: A dream come true! We've been wanting to go to Guido's for years, but it was never meant to be. We usually couldn't get a seat, or the timing wasn't right. Now, in July 2024, we finally made it. First things first: One of the most beautiful and best dinners we've ever had. We tour and travel a lot and have visited thousands of restaurants, but you'll hardly find anything like Guido's anywhere else in this world. But first things first:
*Welcome. Coming off the promenade and turning into Guido's, you'll encounter plastic chairs and an unassuming ambiance. Nothing suggests that one of the best restaurants in Tuscany lies dormant here. We had a reservation (highly recommended by phone) and were shown to our table by a very friendly young lady. We were amazed at what followed the plastic chairs. A typical Tuscan restaurant with approximately 100 seats. We sat down in a typically Tuscan atmosphere that allowed my wife a glimpse into the kitchen and the chefs at work. She loves watching the chefs at work more than anything.
* Service. Then our waiter arrived. A very pleasant man who even spoke German. We wanted to eat the set menu and were given the menu, which is in Italian and German. Positive: The menu is manageable, with about 18 dishes. We like the house wine, Vino de la Casa. First, the white wine. The wine was excellent and at the perfect temperature. Perfect! Afterward, the waiter recommended the antipasti starter, priced at €15, which is sufficient for two people. Half of it is meat-free. The appetizer is a must, typically Tuscan, and of the highest quality: the finest ham, freshly baked bread in olive oil and a special sauce, ample black olives (about 30 pieces), bread, homemade sausage (it tasted excellent, the best I've had in Italy so far), a slice of bread with sausage spread, pickled porcini mushrooms, a special highlight: fried artichokes (my wife couldn't stop eating, they were so good), cheese with a special spread and jam.
It's particularly worth mentioning that you never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was sold out. At the end of the appetizer, the waiter asked for the next course. My wife had gnocchi with porcini mushrooms and sauce, a large portion easily enough for two people for 12 euros. I ordered tortellini filled with spinach and a meat sauce for 12 euros. Both were beyond reproach. A delight with a very special touch from Guido. At the end of the first course, the white wine was running low. The waiter noticed immediately, and we tried the Vino rosso de la Casa. The red wine was also a dream, perfect.
* SECONDI ......Now, of course, we're still missing the national dish of Tuscany, WILD BOAR/Chinguale. Unfortunately, my wife had to stop after the first course...... because, as I said, the food was very plentiful. I ordered a small portion of wild boar in a special red wine sauce with roasted potatoes. The wild boar was very tender and soft, perfectly flavored, and combined with the local red wine, it was an explosion in the mouth. The roasted potatoes were too much for me, too.
In between, I had a pleasant conversation with the waiter, who also served the neighboring guests excellently. I finished with an espresso for 2 euros, and my wife had homemade tiramisu for 5 euros. The tiramisu was amazing, and that sounds really silly, but the espresso also tasted better than I've ever tasted.
with many wonderful and friendly guests. Finally, GUIDO came out of the kitchen and sat down at his table with his papers and calculator. A friendly, comforting smile from both sides and the certainty of "DOLCE VITA - CARPE DIEM"

27/10/2025: What a great place for an A+ lunch. 4 adults on the trail seeking sights on the Parco Archeologico Città del Tufo stopped in here and enjoyed a super experience: great wait staff, cozy setting, delicious food at great prices!
23/10/2025: A hidden gem in beautiful Sorano!!! We had a wonderful dinner today. The mushroom soup was one of the best I've ever had, and the veal and lamb were all delicious. The side dishes were also top-notch – beans, rosemary potatoes, and a Caprese salad. Desserts included crema catalana and cantucci. The staff was very polite. The prices were reasonable. We definitely recommend it!!!

06/11/2025: An excellent selection of various cuts of meat, excellent service, and a meticulously maintained venue that combines elegance and traditional charm. The pleasant experience and the quality of the ingredients justify the expense (we spent about €300 for two). We were able to watch the various courses being prepared on the enormous open grill. Definitely recommended, a treat for a special evening.
28/10/2025: I had 2 wonderful meals here with my family. The food, service, atmosphere… Well everything really was perfect for us two nights in a row. And my 8 year old daughter was able to choose, eat and enjoy starter, main & dessert 🤩 We all loved everything we ate and I can honestly say the steaks that I had were the most delicious steaks I’ve ever eaten.
Watching the Chef cooking over an open fire added an additional visual artistic element to the experience.
Thank you so much for 2 amazing dining experiences and some very happy tummies.

The food prices are not expensive, but the service is poor. We waited almost 20 minutes for the waiter, and the same happened when we asked for the bill. The waiting time for the food was the longest in the region.
I ordered Peposo a typical Tuscan dish, but it had too much black pepper. The mashed potatoes were not consistent. I don’t recommend.

02/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant a month ago. The atmosphere was lovely. The menu was extensive and appealing. The tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and the wild boar cacciatore were very good. The desserts were also delicious, all homemade. The service was a little disorganized, but that's okay!
