04/04/2024: Amazing food and service. The best meal we had in Italy over 14 nights! Well priced too. We had steak, potatoes, aubergine and artichokes.

02/04/2024: We have been here several times. The food is great. Perfect little family restaurant. We were here summer 2017 and the receptionist at the hotel recommended it to us, then we fell in love with the place. We visited it 3 nights in a row during our stay in Florence. This time after 7 years we visited Florence again and we came back again and found out everything is still the same. Perfectly fine food and people. Except the passing of mama, you will forever be missed! I hope this place stays forever and we can revisit again!

01/04/2024: Had 2nd brealfast here during a chaotic Easter Sunday. Food was great and the staff were very pleasant despite the busy morning. Price was reasonable and I had a decent view of the Cathedral.

06/04/2024: We had lunch in this restaurant with a very well-kept environment, with large windows overlooking an internal garden. The dishes were good, but not exceptional, and the service was fast.

03/04/2024: TLDR: the wild boar (which their restaurant is named for) was so dry that it was inedible 1.5 stars We got in at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated quickly and ordered a mixed salad, pasta with ragu and the wild boar. The mixed salad was small for 7 euros but fine it’s a salad, no big deal. The pasta ragu was a basic spaghetti with meat and tomato sauce. Nothing special again, but not too bad. The wild boar however came and immediately I saw what the portion was and how it was cut and it didn’t look good. There were four tiny pieces (1/2 of each piece was bone) and I knew it would be dry. I cut one of the pieces off the bone and cut the meat in half. It was bone dry. I put it in my mouth to chew and it hurt my jaw. I chewed it to oblivion and tried to swallow, needed water. I ate one of the roast potatoes and it was so salty. I told the girl to take away the plate of food, she didn’t seem to notice I didn’t eat any of it. Only when she returned to take away my partner’s plate did she ask if everything was ok before we told her the issues. They ended up taking it off the bill. Even though they took it off our bill, it still deserves a 1.5 star to me. One, I had to sit there and eat nothing while my partner ate. Two, they didn’t even notice until we told them that there was something wrong, they should know taking a full plate away two minutes after they brought it to us there was an issue. Three, the other restaurant we could have went to was full by the time I arrived

04/04/2024: We have been to Bolgheri many times but the Tognoni wine shop surprised us! Characteristic atmosphere, amazing food! We absolutely recommend it if you are in the area!

31/03/2024: We stopped here after our wine tour with Simone (Tuscan Private Driver) and had a bite and it was excellent!!

10/05/2024: We recently had lunch at this restaurant and were extremely satisfied with the experience. The children's menu was a real success: the dishes were so appetizing that our children ate everything without hesitation, a real achievement! Even the adult menu was no exception, with excellent quality meat dishes that delighted our palate. The place is welcoming and the atmosphere pleasant, ideal for an evening out with the family. Furthermore, the prices are surprisingly affordable compared to the quality offered. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high-end dining experience at affordable prices. I'm the guy with the neon yellow shoes and different colored laces😉

06/04/2024: Long waiting time, no clear rules of getting the table, food is nothing special. Looks more like legend than real good experience.

04/04/2024: We were lucky to get a table without reservation on a Monday night. Place is no-nonsense, children friendly, cheaper than other restaurants around and has great beef t bone steak for 45 eur per kg, pieces start at 1,300 gram. Pasta starts at 9 Euro, starters at 5

12/05/2024: We had a fantastic Mother’s Day lunch with excellent service from all the staff. The dishes were sumptuous and the portions very generous. Highly recommended but bookings are essential.

09/05/2024: The restaurant has amazing an atmosphere and the food was nice, great servics. It is open after 19:30, but they pick up the phone for reservations outside restaurant opening hours.

05/04/2024: Order the Pici al ragu bianco di cinta senese is an unmissable dish: the pici is a type of fat spaghetti, made handmade and typical of Tuscany, served in this if applicable, with ragu bianco (without tomato) from local pig, the so-called cinta senese, known for its intense flavor and succulent meat

01/04/2024: We stopped here for lunch whilst exploring Siena and had a great meal in the alley outside of the restaurant. We tried the cheese tarte as an appetizer and the ossobucco and pork pan as a main dish and everything was excellent.

01/04/2024: This Hortone was a wonderful experience. Not the usual Tuscan restaurant but something complete in its different and original proposals and wide in choice, with wonderful variations. Like fried tongue or venison and duck cooked at low temperature. All very good, at high levels. Superior to many restaurants mentioned in the Michelin guide. Excellent and kind service, always ready to accommodate our requests (applause to the very kind girl with the always ready smile who served us... and with an iron memory). Nice to see the open kitchen. Children welcome and pampered. Good quality wine list. I would definitely come back, very good!

29/03/2024: I highly recommend this place for an amazing dinner experience. The food is outstanding, great presentation, prepared by an exceptionally skilled chef. Cozy and romantic ambience. Very friendly and attentive staff. We shared a few dishes between two people, that’s why the portions in the pictures look small, but that’s just a half of each dish. It was also recommended to us by our local friend and it’s one of her favorite places in Firenze.

06/04/2024: Referred to by the lady where we are staying we had a very good time. Amazing Fiorentina...it looked like butter. Highly recommended. However, you need to book a few days in advance because it is always full.

05/04/2024: Made a very pleasant impression on us. We didn't eat here, but we bought wine and olive oil. The wine tastes very good, we haven't tried the olive oil yet. We would go again.
