10/10/2025: Awesome place we popped in on a Wednesday early for their lunch. No reservation and were seated. Restaurant is beautiful as you’re surrounded by their extensive wine offerings and the menu is simple but delicious. We shared their tartare, cacio e pepe, and pork tenderloin. The Cacio e Pepe and tenderloin were exceptional. The wine options are extensive and we chatted with the owner and selected a delicious white for lunch and two excellent bottles to take with us. The owner is a gent and we had some great conversation with him and he was kind enough to give us a bottle of local honey which is delicious. Next time we are in Mondello we will be back as this is comfortably the best restaurant in the area.

10/10/2025: Excellent dishes, from appetizers to main courses to dessert, with impeccable quality ingredients. The wait times are moderate, but largely justified by the care taken in preparing and presenting the dishes. The staff is courteous and helpful. Thanks again.

01/09/2025: Managed with love and passion. Excellent ingredients sourced exclusively from the Palermo and Sicilian regions. Pizzas are delicious, and I've found them in only a few places. I recommend anyone to spend an evening here. After your first experience, it will become your favorite place.

23/09/2025: Fish goulash and tuna in pistachio crust are rich in taste and super delicious! Make sure to book a table if planning on going there after 18:30.

19/09/2025: The food was really good. The Posidon starter plate was the highlight. My wife had the risotto with porcini mushrooms as a side dish, which was very tasty. I had the involtini pesca, which was rather dry, with a side salad without sauce. Ordering oil and vinegar was rather difficult; nothing came, so I had to get some from other guests. The same thing happened with the aperitif: I got my caipiroska immediately, but my wife was forgotten; she got the drink with the starter! The ice cream I wanted for dessert disappeared after a 20-minute wait... we paid €100 and left... there was no limoncello. Conclusion: Very good food, below-average service.

18/09/2025: This place lived up to the excellent reviews we'd read. The staff was friendly, helpful, but not intrusive. The raw ham dish was excellent, as was the mixed grill. The wine was recommended, and the pizza was also excellent, which we decided to try. Everything was perfect, highly recommended.

28/09/2025: Very warm welcome. The waitress was lovely and helpful for those who don't speak Italian. Delicious meal. Very well presented.

13/09/2025: My Spanish wife and I have just come back to London from a 5-day trip to Palermo, four of which we ate here at this wonderful family restaurant. I'm glad I saw all the positive reviews before leaving London because we then very sensibly went the first night, leaving plenty of time to return. So, firstly don't be put off by its being off the beaten track behind the cathedral and next to a parking lot; it's all part of the authentic charm. We did go to other good restaurants in Palermo but none could compare with Spano. It really is a family-run restaurant Delightful Angela serving and husband Sergio and son Roberto cooking What a team! The best seafood pasta I've ever had and I'm 64 and have been going to Italy for holidays more than any other country. Simple, unfussy home-cooked sublimely delicious food Huge choice. Served with a smile by Angela. And rare for restaurants anywhere in the world these days: 1:Proper serviettes and not horrible tissues 2:Comfortable seats 3: Really nice bossa nova music at low volume level so you can talk. 4: Clean toilets 5: Real menu you can hold in your hand and not downloadable on your phone (I hate that so much). Don't worry about booking just turn up; Angela will look after you. We're missing Palermo and Spano in particular and we only got home yesterday Can't wait to go back one day

15/10/2025: Yummy yummy dinner. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Particularly loved the Genovese zuchini w veal and then the Tuna!!!! Also the salad in Aspic!!! Fab!!

05/10/2025: A friendly welcome, good, friendly service with explanations of the dishes and wines. The owner himself booked us a taxi. We highly recommend this osteria!

11/10/2025: A place that exudes history, walls filled with photos of famous customers and cuisine from various eras. Small but beautiful, with just the right amount of discretion, perhaps even accustomed to a clientele that isn't just casual tourists. So, expectations were high, and we got off to a slow start, especially since it was our fourth day dining in Palermo. A sfincione for four to share was very good, followed by four first courses: tortellini in broth, busiate pasta with pistachio and shrimp, paccheri with pork ragù, and ravioli with tomato sauce filled with eggplant and smoked scamorza. Everything was very good, although the ravioloni were the highlight for us. Having resolved our reservations, we ordered a mixed boiled meat with saffron potatoes, pleasant and delicate in flavor—good, in fact, very good. Good value for money. A restaurant worth trying if you come to Sicily.

09/10/2025: You might be told that in Sicily, especially in Palermo, the food is good everywhere. But at Casa del Brodo, the food is truly delicious. The menu offers excellent suggestions. The dishes have flavors that enrich the palate, such as the eggplant rolls or fried red mullet. The dessert was a delight. The wine list is simple but offers good choices. The price is reasonable. A restaurant to recommend. Reservations are recommended.

16/08/2025: After a long time I managed to go to this restaurant, a small but elegant and welcoming location. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good food and excellent quality fish, if you find yourself in Mondello I recommend it.

02/10/2025: OK place, OK service, average appetizers. PIZZAS: average-high price for the pizza, good dough, but what about the toppings? Let's draw a veil over them. The pizzas are over-topped, with a soft center, and the flavors are therefore mixed, you can't distinguish anything, so everything is messy and the pizza is very heavy to digest, in fact you can only eat half of it. A good pizza must have the right toppings, not too much, because you need to feel the crunchiness of the dough. The toppings that make up the pizza must be distinguishable, it must be light and digestible. QUANTITY IS NOT ALWAYS SYNONYMOUS WITH QUALITY AND ABOVE ALL GOODNESS.

16/10/2025: The restaurant has a pleasant and well-maintained atmosphere, making for a quite welcoming dining experience. The decor and atmosphere are pleasant, perfect for enjoying a quiet meal. The food is good, though I wouldn't say it's among the best I've ever had; the dishes are tasty, but they don't stand out much from other Italian restaurants. The service, while friendly, was a bit slower than I expected, especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. It wasn't a major inconvenience, but the wait was a bit long for a casual lunch or dinner. Overall, it's a recommended place if you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere and good food, but perhaps with a little quicker service and a little more flair in the flavors, it could be an even more interesting choice.

The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming, and the service is impeccable. The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive, making you feel right at home. An absolute must-have in Palermo!

14/09/2025: Great small trattoria like everyone searches for! I had the pasta with sardines, and it was multiple times better than any other version I've had in Palermo. Wonderful chunks of perfectly cooked sardines over a tasty al dente pasta. Sometimes I've not liked the bread crumb topping, but this was done perfectly and I completely enjoyed it. Very good service with a watchful waitress standing in the doorway. One suggestion, the house white wine was a disappointment, but good enough. Hey, it's inexpensive and they have other bottles to choose from!

11/09/2025: Typical of Palermo. 10/10 service, 10/10 food, 10/10 price. A real discovery. Spectacular homemade limoncello. Based on the way we were treated, this was the best restaurant of our trip to Sicily. 100% recommended.

05/10/2025: The service was a little slow, perhaps due to the time of our arrival. We had the stuffed ravioli and the busiate with seafood. The busiate were excellent and the ravioli were delicious.
