26/11/2025: We went to this little place near Piazza Politeama with friends. It was a pleasant surprise. The pizza was excellent, and the appetizer was delicious. The waiters were friendly and professional. I recommend it, especially since it's away from the chaos of the city center. I'll be back.

22/11/2025: Tonight we went to this restaurant recommended by the owner of our B&B and drawn in by the excellent reviews. I must say, our expectations were not disappointed. The fish dishes were truly delicious, incredibly fresh, and served with great attention to detail. The staff was extremely friendly. In particular, the chef was very accommodating with our allergies. The price was fair.

20/11/2025: A very good restaurant specializing in fish and seafood dishes. Excellent food at reasonable prices, very friendly service. I had the twice-cooked squid as a starter and the swordfish rolls as a main course. Both are highly recommended.

11/11/2025: The food is okay, with a nice local touch and feeling. Was delighted with the pasta fresca sarde e finocchietto, grilled polpo with pistachio cream was delicious as well. Giuseppe was a very nice, friendly, and amiable waiter and host. The only thing missing was good extra virgin olive oil. This is not just the case at Da Bacco, but at many other restaurants in Palermo, Sicily, and Italy in general. It’s a shame that in the country known for some of the world’s best olive oils, the majority of restaurants and trattorias serve poor-quality EVOO.

08/11/2025: BIG TOURIST SCAM! They were displaying the raw fish on the plate and offered us (kind of pushed us) and we took one without asking the price as it was not in ala carte. They charged 35 eur for that fish! Similar item was only 20 eur in the price list! That was our first day. After spending 10 days in Sicily, we were sure that any food items can hardly reach 20 eur even in high end good restaurants. And we (couple) paid ~80 eur but still half full!!

24/11/2025: We had dinner at Il Baro pizzeria and had a truly excellent experience! We had an appetizer and three pizzas: the appetizer was very good, but the pizzas were simply extraordinary. The pizza of the day, created by the master pizza chef, was an incredible surprise for its taste and originality, with an exceptional balance of flavors. The service was precise, friendly, and very fast, helping make the evening even more enjoyable. Good value: we spent about €60 for a €0.50 draft beer, three pizzas, a water, and an appetizer. Definitely a place to return!

The freshest fish and exquisite oysters captivated guests from the start. The creative and delicious appetizers transformed the anticipation into a surprising and convivial experience. The authentic grilled meat and local produce, accompanied by craft beers, celebrated roots and tradition with an innovative touch. Finally, the spirits and chocolate table capped the celebration with a moment of refined conviviality, leaving guests with vivid and memorable memories. This is a traditional Italian dish, usually served in winter, made with meat (often a mix of beef, veal, or chicken) and vegetables, slowly cooked in boiling broth. In addition to the aforementioned dishes, the menu also features many local specialties, featuring a simple and deliberately "rough" approach, alternating according to the seasonality of the ingredients used. The dishes are carefully crafted and presented in a pleasant, clean, and simple manner. The wine list is comprehensive overall, with little reference to the Metodo Classico, perhaps a business decision aimed at a tourist crowd. Charismatic figures include chef/owner Romeres, an excellent professional but also a scholar of Palermo's food and wine history, and his wife Marisa, a very sweet, affable, discreet, yet present and indispensable lady at the reception. The service is attentive, friendly, and attentive, and is also committed to meeting any customer request. The location has remained unchanged over the years, with a subtle retro feel, starting with their sign, which embodies a blend of an inn and an old tavern. The three interior rooms are filled with photos and vintage furnishings, reflecting a passionate professional journey undertaken by grandfather Salvatore Catanese, a legacy passed down to the latest generation, his grandchildren Ada, Gaetano, and his wife Marisa. Excellent value for money, especially thanks to The Fork's 30% discount.
