10/08/2025: Last evening in Sicily, for a last pizza on a small terrace shaded by flowering trees. Well, it was the best of our stay. The fish of the day, whole, was excellent. To finish, a Canollo, with a very original presentation to discover and there too, the best of our stay. A few words of French when the bill was paid, bravo and thank you

02/08/2025: What a rare find in a very busy commercially touristic city. Amazing Scicilian food, so good. Service was amazing. Venue perfect. We had a starter to share, two main, water, bread and two alcoholic drinks each and it came to 70 euros. Amazing value for the food we had. The rolled swordfish was out of this world. Thank you.

The staff was friendly and ready to accommodate our every request. Excellent quality food and wine, fresh fish, and generous portions. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The food was outstanding: both in taste and presentation. The service was impeccable, with professional staff and an incredibly accommodating chef who not only greeted us but also took our order personally! A special thank you for the birthday candle on the cake, such a thoughtful gesture. It made the evening even more special for my boyfriend. We truly appreciated it!

17/07/2025: La Casa del Brodo dal Dottore is one of the rare places where you can still experience an authentic family atmosphere. The staff, impeccable in their efficiency, speed, and precision, is also distinguished by their measured cordiality, always with full professionalism. The cuisine is excellent, meticulously prepared, and, at least in my case, evokes precious memories. If you find yourself in Palermo, on Via Vittorio Emanuele, treat yourself to the pleasure of stopping at La Casa del Brodo: it will be an experience that will allow you to experience firsthand the quality of a service refined over a century of tradition.

16/07/2025: I contacted Ghiottone Raffinato after seeing photos on social media that convinced me to call them for my son's 18th birthday. They took care of everything: every detail was taken care of, from the table decorations to the buffet tables. The food was plentiful and, of course, delicious and highly appreciated, all accompanied by a helpful, kind, polite, and meticulous staff. They made this event nothing short of perfect. I recommend everyone to contact them for their catering and events. I sincerely thank the staff for all they achieved.

24/08/2025: Never had a meal so bad, the raw fish was warm, the very sweet fish seemed sugary, the fish goulash was just potatoes with no fish, and the white wine was room temperature despite the 30 degrees Celsius outside. When we asked for some soaked wipes, they only brought us one for 12 people.

21/08/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant, and all the dishes were delicious. The fried caciocavallo cheese was truly delicious! We ate outside at tables overlooking the fairly quiet square. The service was quick and friendly. Recommended.

14/06/2025: Non voglio spendere tante parole perché chi gestisce il locale ne ha spese ancor meno per le mie esigenze. Chiedo la pizza per mio figlio così da poter far mangiare prima lui e dopo noi e vengo preso in giro dicendo che la pizza di mio figlio era in forno, e invece dopo 20 minuti, ordiniamo io e mia moglie e stranamente ci portano le pizze tutte assieme. Morale della favola Il gestore del locale decide le esigenze familiari, mentendo sul fatto che la pizza del bambino verrà preparata prima, e quindi te la serve dopo 20 minuti assieme alle altre due perché a lui sta bene così. Grazie signor gestore per poter decidere le nostre esigenze familiari, ma sa le famiglie con un bimbo di 2 anni che escono e si recano in un locale, cercano magari di rilassarsi, chiedendo soltanto la pizza del bambino così da poterlo farlo mangiare e poi le nostre, in modo tale da far mangiare lui e poi noi tranquillamente goderci la pizza. Ah dimenticavo il suo personale é gentilissimo e come leggo dalle recensioni non sono l’unico che si lamenta di questo atteggiamento. Poi non so se lei vuole un ristorante prettamente per NON FAMIGLIE, ma sa un bimbo di 2 anni avrebbe bisogno di un seggiolone, non avere un solo seggiolone in tutto il ristorante mi sembra un po’ un modo per non volere proprio noi con piccoletti. Ringraziamo il personale gentilissimo che ha saputo darci attenzioni e scusarsi dell’accaduto. Buon weekend

16/08/2025: Exceptional restaurant! Osteria Ballaro is definitely worth a visit when in Palermo. I started with the Ballaro Street Food as a starter, followed by the linguine allo zafferano con sarde, a sublime dish that perfectly showcases the Sicilian flavors. The tiramisu was the icing on the cake. A special mention goes to Giovanni, our server, who was fantastic! Not only does he know the menu perfectly and offer valuable advice, but he also gave us excellent tips for exploring the city. A true, passionate professional. The setting is very pleasant: the air-conditioned and bright dining room makes the experience even more enjoyable.

18/08/2025: In one of Palermo's most charming and tranquil squares, you'll find a restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide (no stars) but with a highly captivating description that opens up many expectations. In practice, however, you'll encounter many problems. You've chosen the six-course tasting menu: the following dishes received particularly poor marks: Calamarata, 'nduja sauce, eggplant, Ragusano DOP, basil mousse, and wild fennel: a very bland and unremarkable dish. Double-marinated veal fillet, smoked tomato, black pig cheek, Sicilian Pecorino DOP wafer, fresh oregano It's practically impossible, even allowing for any kind of error in the preparation, to serve such a tough veal fillet. Not even the many supposedly intriguing additional ingredients managed to produce an acceptable dish. Grilled leek, brown vegetable stock, vegetables, marjoram. Unspeakable. I thought of an unlikely "raw vegetable dish." The staff is extremely kind and patient, but professionally, they still need to hone their skills in the face of the challenges that this now disillusioned industry presents. The sommelier, in particular, must radically rethink his professional perspective. Wine of choice: Grillo di Sicilia: good. Bill for two: €290. Advice to the owners: radically rethink everything because if the strategy focuses on passing customers, who once met will never be seen again, you can't build a minimally credible proposal.
