04/01/2026: Sicilian trattoria near the Teatro Massimo, offering a wide selection of traditional Palermo dishes, all delicious. The seafood dishes are especially recommended, including pasta with sardines, sardines a beccafico, and swordfish rolls. The desserts are also delicious, especially the baked cassata. Generous portions and reasonable prices, highly recommended!
16/12/2025: Tourists visiting Palermo, with my boyfriend we chose this restaurant because it had good reviews and indeed everything was excellent, food, price, service super satisfied to recommend for an informal environment oriented towards quality

15/02/2026: As a starter I ordered raw fish and it was fresh, I also ordered bruschetta with sea urchins and they were also good, it was a shame about the pasta I ordered which was salty, undercooked and cold, the salty bill was not up to the dinner's standard.
14/02/2026: The food was great (caponata melanzane), but the service and wait time were abysmal. It took over an hour for a pasta carbonara, and our order wasn't taken until 30 minutes later (they were out of meat altogether; they could have mentioned that when handing out the menu).

08/02/2026: I don't usually write reviews, but this place has restored my faith in Palermo cuisine after some terrible experiences elsewhere. Trattoria da Totò is very simple with EXCEPTIONAL home cooking (the cooking is done by friendly Palermitan women)! Excellent pasta with fresh seafood, mussels, and plump, flavorful prawns. My only regret is that I discovered it on the last day of our trip!

08/12/2025: Terrible. For a breaded pork roast, it took 45 minutes. After the first course, I asked for wine and water, but they arrived after I sent the second course back because it was raw after 45 minutes (roast pork). Terrible. First and last time. First courses that weigh 70g are a lot. I'll never go back.

30/06/2025: In zona centrale, entriamo per puro caso, ambiente accogliente, accolti un sorriso, prendiamo due pizze (dai nomi legati alla tradizione letterale sicula). Che dire: fantastiche. Ottima farcitura, impasto soffice e leggero (sinonimo di una adeguata lievitazione), leggera alveatura, cornice elastica e pronta al ritorno. Veramente buone, complimenti. Servizio rapido, prezzi nella norma. Bellissima esperienza.

04/03/2026: I don't understand why some restaurants get negative reviews. Buatta made me feel very welcome on both of my visits. Aside from the excellent food, I'd like to commend the hosts on both evenings. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, with a hands-on approach. I really appreciated that. The heart of any restaurant is always the kitchen, and they did a fantastic job. The appetizers—Focaccia "Sfincione," Caponata, Fish Sausage, Anelletti with Meat Ragout, Handmade Ravioli, and the Sardines "a Beccafico"—were all absolutely delicious. For dessert, be sure to try the Almond Parfait "Noto" or the Cassata. Unfortunately, they don't have a house wine, but the wine available by the glass is also very well-made, delicious, and reasonably priced. Thank you, dear Buatta team, for the wonderful evenings and the excellent service. Keep up the great work!

05/03/2026: Although they were friendly, unfortunately the food was truly disappointing. The quality was very low, making it difficult to get practically anything wrong. The artichokes were poorly made; only the hard, inedible part remained, with an artificial sauce. The worst thing was the caponata, which we had to leave as is. The boiled meat was too salty. They couldn't even make the salad properly: it was chopped into large, tasteless pieces. It was the only place where we had a bad meal in Palermo. I'm sorry for the negative review, but I think it can easily be improved.
02/03/2026: I came to Palermo to stay with my cousins. The dinner was epic: the cod with caponata reminded me of the foods and flavors of yesteryear. The wine was excellent. I digested everything without any problems. The place was quite noisy. The service was quick and friendly.

Da palermitano delusione.

02/03/2026: They don't reserve a table. We were very lucky. The food is delicious and they are quick with starters and main courses but they abandoned us when it came to dessert 😌. We paid in cash and they made a mistake in their favor. We complained and they gave us back the change reluctantly. The rest is all 10.
