01/09/2025: Not your average agriturismo. As a Sardinian by adoption, I was looking for an agriturismo that, while focusing on traditional dishes and flavors, offered something different from the usual menu. S'ena Frisca met my expectations perfectly: six appetizers, a first course featuring excellent cured meats, and the others reflecting the chef's creativity and skill (but always with a keen eye for tradition, as demonstrated by the cannoli with fried mazza frissa and the stewed lumschine). Two first courses (not the usual ravioli and malloreddus) and finally, a must in Sardinia, the porcetto (pork suckling pig): lean but not dry, tender, fragrant, and with crispy rind: one of the best I've tasted in years. A choice of two desserts (not necessarily the traditional seadas) and a wide selection of digestifs. Everything is produced on-site, including the excellent wine, which is the fruit of a small estate vineyard. What else can I say? The setting, surrounded by greenery, with the subtle background sound of spring water (S"ena Frisca means, in fact, the fresh spring) is extremely evocative. The rooms are simple yet refined, and the staff is attentive, kind, and always available. The price, despite the superior quality, is in line with the competition. Highly recommended.

31/10/2025: I had the opportunity to stay here on a motorcycle trip and it was well worth it. It's in a remote area so don't expect much outside entertainment but there's plenty to do. The views are beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant was a welcome end to a day's riding. The attentive staff were very well versed on the cuisine which featured unique local fare and Nepente di Oliena wine. I found out too late that they had a museum which featured historical highlights, so that's another reason to return. Thank you for a great stay.

21/10/2025: A delightful discovery! We had dinner here one evening in October and had a wonderful meal. The waiter was very kind and friendly; the ingredients were top-quality, the fish excellent, and the cuisine traditionally Sardinian. Highly recommended!

Each dish was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for the freshness and quality offered. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional, helping make the evening even more enjoyable. 07/10/2025: I only went here for dinner, so my review is based solely on the restaurant. The location is very pretty and charming, but the prices are truly excessive and don't reflect the quality/price ratio. We had a €26 UNSAUCE tartare, which was practically a bite—nothing special, considering the accompanying sauces were tasteless. Then we had the porceddu: this dish is also quite expensive, €35/person, but at least excellent. The service leaves a lot to be desired. From the waiter who immediately asked us "How are you?" and didn't respect formality, to the overly stern one who, when asked "How's the tartare seasoned?", replied annoyed, "Oh, just like the usual tartare seasoning." Furthermore, the service was too formal for the setting. The desserts were completely overpriced; €12 each is insane. Luckily, the porceddu, the reason we came, was excellent.

29/10/2025: My expectations were high after reading the reviews, but they were exceeded! All the dishes were excellent, and the mixed seafood appetizer was truly unforgettable. The staff was professional and super friendly. Excellent!

29/11/2025: A disappointment. I remembered lunches from a few years ago where you'd leave feeling truly satisfied. The portions were small and the entrees were definitely not excellent. There was only one waitress, which meant the service was a bit spotty, and the dessert was awful. I wouldn't recommend it.

23/11/2025: I fully agree with your reputation. Everything is truly fantastic. From the service, the very friendly waiter, to the fresh and excellently cooked food. The price is fair. Go there. You have to go at least once and try it! 💯

29/11/2025: Absolutely unacceptable. I'm from Sassari, wanting to have dinner with my partner. I called on November 20, 2025, at 7:58 PM. I'm not sure who the person who answered the call was...but if they answered, it was obviously either the owner or a waitress. I made a reservation for dinner on Saturday, the 29th, 2025, saying we're from Sassari and that 8 PM was fine. The owner or waitress took the reservation...confirming it for the 29th, AD 2025, at 8:00 PM. We've been in Nuoro since yesterday...after lunch, we called the right restaurant to make sure the previous call had been received correctly, considering that the person who answered the initial call immediately showed little availability even to receive my reservation request. Surprise. No reservations recorded...and needless to say...no possibility of a reservation for tonight, and not even a half-word apology. Luckily, Nuoro is full of restaurants and people ready to do their job with the necessary expertise. Buy a pen and notepad for whoever answers the phone, or at least assign someone who can write a reservation or at least has adequate cognitive skills. Never again. Best regards.

18/11/2025: I think this place has an undeserved reputation. Perhaps it's word of mouth that keeps the place packed, but honestly, I don't understand such a high profile, even though I recognize the quality of the food served. The setting is a "grotto" in the historic center, on a narrow street not on the seafront, and it's packed with tables and people, where the noise makes conversation almost impossible. The place is cramped, and the service is structured into two fixed shifts, so the food feels like a fast food restaurant. FAST. The menu is absolutely fixed and decided by the restaurateur: 4 appetizers, 2 first courses, 2 main courses (usually 2 shrimp per person and a boneless fish), and finally a small portion of cake. Nothing else. All dishes arrive on serving plates, not portioned, but to be shared among diners. No boneless fish preparation service is provided (you have to make do, they don't have time, everything is rushed). And one of the problems is precisely time, because if you're on the first shift at 8:00 PM, you have to quickly wolf down the entire dinner in an hour and a half at most to free up the table for the next shift. Unacceptable. The seats are cramped and set with paper napkins; the water is microfiltered and the house wine is in bulk. Like in a trattoria with much more modest prices. I don't want to specifically comment on the food because, although it could be likened to a sort of culinary journey, the service offered, as I described, isn't properly proportionate to the asking price. The price is a fixed €55 per person. This is what I had to share.

13/12/2025: TERRIBLE experience! HORRIBLE service!!!! The appetizer arrived first, followed by a bottle of Franciacorta. While we were "enjoying" the appetizer, the first course arrived, which they put on my table and got cold... a typical Sardinian first course, BITTER! What can I say...don't go there! Don't ruin your dinner too! Oh, I forgot... trying to give the fried food a second chance, it was FULL of oil and tasteless! The waiters were inexperienced, and he was very unfriendly and had no desire to work. That's all.
