Su Gologone In Oliena

This is promoted as a "posh" hotel, but it is not. It's too big and crowded, with difficult access to the rooms. Our suite (#103) was very special, with lots of space (extra day beds for kids, an outdoor bath, and an outdoor bed), but it was uphill, up three sets of outdoor stairs. Also, no matter how careful you were, the bathroom was flooded each time you showered. Breakfast needs some improvement: coffee is horrible and there is no cut fruit for yogurt. I shouldn't have to chop/peel whole fruit with a basic table knife. Finally something, the gym has good equipment, but it's about 24C/75F in there, so it's very uncomfortable to workout.

A beautiful hotel that makes you want to linger and soak up its peaceful atmosphere. We stayed for 5 nights at the end of a 5 week holiday, to relax and unwind and take in the local scenery and culture. We did just that! The region has fabulous walks and towns/villages to soak up the history. The quiet pool was a great place to come back to each day. We stayed half board and had fantastic dinners each evening. The hotel is popular with Italians and Americans equally. Overall, a real gem - thoroughly recommend it!

I don't know where to begin to describe the wonder of this place. A joyful and precious oasis in the rugged Barbagia of Oliena. An unforgettable experience that I can't wait to repeat, to enjoy every single corner with more calm and slowness. It's truly a hymn to slow, genuine, timeless living. The past blends with the new, the colors envelop every sense and transport you far from the noise of the world. The place feels like a living museum, rich in history and beauty, with the difference that everything is enjoyable. The cuisine, from lunch to breakfast, is top-notch, not to mention the kindness and hospitality of the staff, true, genuine, rooted in the traditions of these lands. We'll definitely be back, and this time with the time it deserves ❤️ and with our dogs 🐕

We stayed at the Su Gologone Hotel last week. The location, food, and service were excellent, as was the property itself: well-maintained, tastefully furnished, and equipped with a gym, pool, and other recreational facilities. We didn't take advantage of any of the (many) offers available for excursions in the area. This complaint concerns the standard and cost of the room. The website states: "Large and comfortable room" ... "Some have a four-poster bed, made of iron or wood" ... "They consist of a bedroom with a bed and a sofa bed, and a large bathroom with a shower. Most have a balcony or terrace." "Our rooms are all different, and the photographs are indicative of the type. Size ranges from 20 to 25 square meters." PLEASE NOTE! THE DESCRIPTION CONSTITUTES A ACTUAL CONTRACT THAT IS DEEMED ACCEPTED WITH PAYMENT. For the same price, the differences between the rooms are quite significant: - our room (20 square meters) was so small (cluttered with just a chair, a stool, and a small table) that it didn't even have room for two suitcases; - it overlooked the nearby forest behind it, dark and with the branches of the trees practically just outside the balcony; - the balcony was equally small and furnished with two (horrible) stools and a small table; - above all, it was very dark. We were able to visit the room opposite: it was indeed bright, overlooking a stunning view, spacious and well-furnished, as was the small balcony (a decent size and also well-furnished). ALL FOR THE SAME PRICE AS OURS! Conclusion: charging the same price for two such different room types is shameful and unacceptable! We all know that in every hotel, anywhere in the world—for example—a room overlooking the sea costs more than one overlooking the internal garden! At Su Gologone, however, this rule doesn't apply, so: BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING!!!

I came to this beautiful restaurant with my Sardinian family and we were welcomed with kindness and professionalism. Everything was delicious and typical of Sardinia. The place is very unique, very well-kept and surrounded by greenery.

Beautiful but lots of stairs and no lifts. LOTS of stairs.

While we didn’t get to stay at Su Gologone, we had a wonderful meal at the restaurant and were so enthralled by the art that we came back the next day to explore the grounds more. We had drinks at both of the bars, enjoyed stunning views, admired the art and history that is on display, and shopped at the store fully of beautiful handmade goods. We met both the owner, Giovanna, as well as another seemingly manager? of the staff (I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten your name!) and both were so lovely, taking lots of time to tell us about the property, art, and items in the store. It was clear to see the love and care poured into this special place.
