Da Chicco In Roma

We've been here twice in a row and the contrast is incredible. The outside is absolutely stellar – the gentleman to the right of the bar shows off a true, unbridled Italian temperament. He talked five of us off the street with such charm that we went inside and didn't regret it – the food is great in terms of taste and price (compared to the Colombo hotel next door, absolutely top notch). ​But the service is even more disappointing. There are two waitresses and three guys hovering around the table (one of them was at least a little bit diligent), but the overall attitude is cold and lacking in spark. We don't know if it was because we were Czech, but the distance was also visible at the tables next to us. No recommendations, no active offer of dessert or coffee – just passive waiting for our order. ​It's a huge shame that a place with such food and a great outdoor entertainer is let down by lax service. If the gentleman served outside as well as inside, we'd leave at least twice as much money there

The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable, but the service was disappointing. A service charge is included in the final bill, which is probably why waiters aren't particularly motivated to be polite and observe proper restaurant etiquette.

A family-owned restaurant run by its owners, offering some of the best authentic Italian cuisine. The service is exceptional, and the owner, Chicco, is so warm and welcoming that he makes you feel like part of the family. Additionally, experiencing a restaurant outside the typical tourist areas gives you a different and more authentic perspective of the city, its culture, and its people. Highly recommended for an authentic Italian dining experience!

The welcome was pleasant and professional, and the food was truly excellent. I'll be back.

Good food but poor service & expensive as it's in a tourist area close to Spanish Steps

We went for lunch today, everything was excellent, from the porchetta to the bread, and the fabulous first courses!!! Fast and attentive service, good value. We'll definitely be back.

Let's start by saying that the appetizer was good, with excellent ingredients: melt-in-the-mouth porchetta, very good buffalo mozzarella, and hand-sliced ​​prosciutto that was just the right amount of sweet and savory. Here comes the problem: the first courses. The pasta all'arrabbiata was awful, full of oil; the only thing that was arrabbiata was in the name (it wasn't spicy at all), and once cooked, it tasted like hospital pasta. The amatriciana was anemic, with very little guanciale, no sauce, no pepper, just a hint of pecorino cheese. The lamb chops were good. The service was adequate, but a bit confusing, probably because there were so many people. It could be improved.

Nice surprise! We ate very well.
