Going to Mantua and not stopping to eat at the Scaravelli restaurant in the main square is like going to Rome and not seeing the Colosseum. A fabulous location, excellent service, and truly remarkable traditional Mantuan dishes (pumpkin tortelli and more). Excellent value.

Wonderful place in the center; we dined on the porch, but the interior is also beautiful. Very refined traditional cuisine, attentive service, and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent prices for the high quality of both the food and the service.

Excellent restaurant recommended

This restaurant is very beautiful and located in the center of Mantua in a beautiful spot on Piazza delle Erbe. The overall atmosphere is elegant and charming. The waiters are knowledgeable, professional but not overly so, and kind. We went for dinner on a Saturday evening during a weekend in this beautiful city, well worth a visit. The cost of the dishes, regardless of the menu, is around 20 euros or more. We had the appetizer: parmesan with mustards. The pumpkin risotto and two Caesar salads. The appetizer was good, the mustards were good. The risotto really left a lot to be desired: the ingredients were certainly good, but the flavor was lacking; it was overcooked. The Caesar salads were really poor, and the service was not very attentive. We drank water and two coffees. At the cashier, they gave us a discount for the inconvenience with the risotto; the woman was very kind. We paid 100 euros with the discount.

The current rating is unfair: the interior is lovely and the terrace overlooking the square is simply exceptional! We regularly come here for a salad and a pizza. It's the best place in Mantua to enjoy delicious Italian salads. Try the fennel salad, it's excellent. The service is quick and very pleasant. A place well worth a visit for lunch in the sunshine in a superb setting. Today, early April, the weather is perfect; it's the Italian way of life. We love it! Anna and Didier

Very tasty, BUT the staff try way too hard to sell and force on you.

We arrived in Mantua by chance and stayed at the Scaravelli hotel. It was a very nice, clean, and tastefully decorated room! From there, we booked dinner at the restaurant of the same name. The dishes were beautifully presented and all very good. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat. I had the sliced ​​beef, which was excellent, tender, and flavorful. For dessert, I really enjoyed the mille-feuille with mascarpone cream and strawberries! The manager was very kind and knowledgeable! The bartender was also very nice. I highly recommend both the place to stay and the restaurant!

One of the restaurant's strong points is undoubtedly the staff: they're very talented, fast, and always ready to make customers feel at home! The food is spectacular and the atmosphere is truly welcoming.

The 3.6 is not justified in our case. 24th March,2026. We had lamb chops, baked potatoes and lasagne, followed by tiramasu. Everything was very very good.
