A charming location, an ancient and typical Mantuan osteria.
Good food and very carefully prepared dishes.
The pumpkin ravioli are highly recommended, but the other dishes we tried were also very good.

I went to this restaurant and ordered meat, baked potatoes, and salad. Unfortunately, when they brought my dish, the meat was so tough I couldn't even cut it with a knife.
Being a foreigner, it was probably obvious I wasn't a local, but I kindly asked for a change. I must say the staff was very helpful: they immediately brought me a new portion, and this time the meat was incredibly tender and delicious.
I really appreciate that they resolved the issue without any arguments.

We had a family lunch in this very nice restaurant, very close to the Doge's Palace, all the staff were extremely kind and friendly and despite my celiac disease problem I ate very well and they were careful about contamination, thank you ❤️

The "bouncer" politely (seriously, not sarcasm) invited us in, and they sat us at a table under the porticoes. It was delightful, even in the scorching heat, but close enough to other tables (even those in the next door) that we could clearly hear the conversations of the diners at the adjacent tables. We enjoyed a platter of cured meats, prosciutto and melon, Mantuan rice, and sbrisolona with zabaglione. The rice was good. The platter wasn't bad, but perhaps a bit cheap. Prices were a bit high (but I doubt it; being Milanese, I expect prices ANYWHERE to be lower than at home). The service was quick and friendly.

Monday, June 1st, a quiet evening between holidays, with attentive and friendly service. The dishes were well-prepared, according to tradition, and the coffee was also good.

Wonderful experience! Super friendly and hospitable service, you feel welcome immediately. Additionally, I really enjoyed the fresh pasta; everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely recommended!

A good osteria in the city center that offers well-prepared traditional Mantuan dishes.
Generous portions and adequate portions.
Highly recommended if you're visiting Mantua.
