22/05/2025: Ristorante pulito, moderno ed essenziale, quasi Newyorkese, ma i piatti, buonissimi, sono quelli della migliore tradizione napoletana.òGentilissimo e competente il personale di sala, in particolare la sig.na Chiara. Sicuramente consigliabile.

13/07/2025: Amazed… We're from Naples but have a house in Guardia Sanframondi, and during the "Sannio Tra Sapori e Folklore" festival, where over 40 Pro Loco organizations from the Sannio region were present, we decided to stop by. After a look, we noticed that the festival menu didn't include what we wanted, so we opted to have a pizza to our liking at this place. As soon as we arrived, Mr. Paolo called the staff to help us get settled, and the very friendly and courteous waiter showed us where we were and took our order. We asked for a fried pizza (calzone) and a plain pizza with ham and mushrooms. The fried pizza was divine and was definitely cooked in very clean oil, because instead of smelling of fried food, it smelled of fresh oil, and it was just the right amount of golden brown, not burnt brown. The other pizza was excellent, with plenty of exceptional and flavorful fior di latte. With two draft beers, one 0.20 and one 0.30, we spent €16.00. We were shocked because we would certainly have paid over €20 elsewhere, but we recommend putting at least a paper tablecloth on the table and charging for service. There were two bathrooms, both spotlessly clean. The restaurant has an indoor dining room next to the bar, an indoor patio with plenty of tables, and an outdoor space on the sidewalk. It also serves grilled meats and rotisserie. Paolo told us he's a former rugby player; in fact, the walls of the indoor dining room are decorated with hundreds of photos of his playing days and memories of a friend of his who passed away. Highly recommended.

23/11/2025: Boneless Danish rib eye steak tasted rotten, ziti alla genovese was cold and meatless (there was only onion), cold tagliata with porcini mushrooms and super slimy. After pointing out to the owner that the Danish tasted rotten, he brought us a super good and hot tagliata, just to prove that they can serve good food if you want! GOODBYE

10/11/2025: Total disappointment. We went to this restaurant last night and, unfortunately, the experience was terrible. The appetizers were already a complete disappointment: the cured meats seemed to have been cut the day before, oxidized, and their flavor was off. Among the "hot" dishes, a dish with pumpkin, pesto, and zucchini smelled sour and was completely inedible. The parmigiana was a decent find, but the frittatina was disappointing. Even though we left most of the dishes uneaten, no one bothered to ask if everything was okay or if there were any problems. The Black Angus steak was the icing on the cake (in a bad way): sinewy, dry, burnt at the edges, and sliced ​​so thin that it became dry in a few seconds on the stone. The only positive notes: the escarole and baked potatoes were delicious. Final bill: around €170, truly excessive for the quality offered. When the food is good, you're happy to pay for it, but here we had the impression that the food was stale and the ingredients were poor. We won't be returning.

04/08/2025: The hotel is in an accessible location, easy to reach, surrounded by greenery, and has ample parking. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean, and functional, elegantly furnished and equipped with everything you need. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied.

The first few times were really good, but this third time I ate a bit of fish (which is strange, because I prefer to eat it only in excellent restaurants where it's served FRESH because they show you by bringing your choice to the table before cooking it). However, I was told it was good, and my stomach hurt so much that I'll never set foot there again! I'm still on stomach treatment, and a week later, I had a terrible time... I don't know, but from what I saw, the owner wasn't there that evening, and I'm sorry because the other times when he was there, this didn't happen, since he personally came to take orders and take care of the customer's requests... People also write about excellent, fresh, and high-quality food, but what exactly do you eat at your place? Have you ever been to a real restaurant????! Oh... 16/10/2025: Nothing exceptional. More of a trattoria than a restaurant. If you choose simple dishes based on local products, such as a mixed antipasto of cured meats and cheeses or a first or second course of meat, it might be fine. Don't expect anything more sophisticated, and if you want a good wine, don't go for the local one. A fish-based first course is awful, but a fried shrimp and calamari is good. Not recommended, especially if you have to travel many kilometers to get there.

01/10/2025: Just one thing: if a customer orders a sandwich without cheese, it doesn't necessarily mean they don't like it, but maybe they're allergic to milk. I know work might stress you out, but trust me, driving 800 km from work to Benevento, only to notice once at home that the chef didn't want to follow the order, is much more frustrating. Luckily, I checked the sandwich; otherwise, I would have rushed to the hospital for anaphylactic shock. Thank you.

30/11/2025: A restaurant suitable only for gourmets and connoisseurs of good, traditional flavors. I returned to Donato's after a long time, but the quality and service are always excellent. Excellent!

15/08/2025: I went to this restaurant for lunch, and I'm sorry to say that the food was terrible (only the appetizer was good; the ravioli was probably precooked and then reheated; the meat didn't seem to be of good quality, and it was also very salty; the chicken was really tough and small, and the tiramisu was inedible). A huge disappointment!!!

25/09/2025: I was here yesterday for a dear friend's baby shower, and it was a wonderful discovery! A lovely, welcoming place, perfect for events with children: plenty of space, a relaxed atmosphere, and everything was very well-kept.

Only at the end, after a reminder, did the pizza arrive, but the table was already at the cafe... I took the pizza away, I'd lost my appetite.

27/11/2025: Entering this Norman castle was a thrill, considering that the town of Apice was razed to the ground 45 years ago, in 1980. It has been reborn with an excellent renovation. During this period, the castle hosts Christmas markets, with traditional products, masks, mimes, bagpipers, and more. A journey into the past and present. ❤️🇮🇪❤️

Yes, but the place was half-empty because we booked the eight o'clock shift. Unfortunately, takeout goes first, and the wait times are significantly longer.

09/11/2025: A terrible dinner that will make us never return. We've often gone there for Sunday morning breakfast, and already on that occasion we'd noticed the change: a more sloppy and less well-kept place than usual, with poor service. But we wanted to give it another try by going for dinner. There were four of us, and we ordered fairly simple dishes, and even though the place wasn't crowded, we waited forever to eat. What's even more annoying is when two sandwiches out of four arrive at the table, and basically two of them eat while the others watch the whole time. And then you find out that in the meantime, they're busy with the takeout order as if it had priority. But the worst part was that despite the endless wait, my sandwich arrived incomplete. After pointing this out to the waitress, she immediately added the missing portion. When I finally took a bite, after a while, I noticed that the bread crust at the bottom was chock-full of burnt onion. A bread that was clearly contaminated due to the lack of attention they took in preparing it. What if I were allergic to that ingredient? Obviously, I had to call the waitress back, who promptly offered to change it and get me another. But from that point on, it was just another wait. By then, the other diners with me had finished eating, and after over half an hour, I ate practically alone. An absurd disappointment. I also wanted an apology for the inconvenience and the wait, but instead, everything went by as if it were normal. What a shame.
