The owner is very friendly and attentive.
Every time we've been there, he's taken great care of us, making delicious latte macchiatos and serving us tasty cornettos to go with them.

The hostess's smile greets you as soon as you arrive, and the service is always professional but never intrusive. The dishes are well-prepared and of excellent quality, as is the pizza, which is very, very good.

We had dinner on a quiet Wednesday evening. What made me smile the most was that despite being a historic establishment, time seems to have stood still. Customer service, authentic products, and fair prices!

28/05/2026: Good location, easy to reach the center and the sea on foot, then there is also a shuttle service to the sea, video-monitored parking and very kind and professional staff. Last night was a fantastic evening with dinner and typical Calabrian music, I have to compliment all the staff, very good.
21/05/2026: A well-run establishment. Friendly, efficient, clean, and well-maintained. Its proximity to the lively town center and the beautiful grounds are particularly noteworthy. However, in keeping with the region, the breakfast places a heavy emphasis on sweets.

17/07/2026: Recommended! Porticato's hallmarks are its authentic local cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. Overlooking Pizzo's beautiful piazza, it offers an enchanting view that, especially at sunset, makes for a magical dinner.
The restaurant's strong point is undoubtedly the freshness of its ingredients. Seafood reigns supreme, but there are also no shortage of references to Calabrian tradition (such as 'n'duja and Tropea red onion). The wood-fired pizza is also excellent.

We had a really poor experience here. Almost every dish we ordered was inedible. The plate of pasta was swimming in oil, while the gnocchi and grilled vegetables were completely dry and choked down. To make matters worse, the meat was of very poor quality. The only saving grace of the entire meal was the mixed platter, which was actually good. Save your money and go elsewhere.

22/08/2025: In the heart of Nicotera, a charming and very welcoming place where you can taste a wide selection of fine wines paired with delicious dishes and platters made with typical and quality products. Rocco, the owner, is always kind, knowledgeable and professional, I highly recommend it!!

Two pasta dishes, a beer, and a glass of wine, €42??? Is this price related to the glass of wine?
I don't know what I ate.
Note: There was a wait of over 30 minutes before being served.
The prices were unclear.
The pasta was good but undercooked.
The atmosphere was noisy, with music from the restaurant and outside, making communication difficult.

01/06/2026: We stayed in Pizzo for four days and dined at Nostrano for three.
We felt at home thanks to the warm welcome from all the friendly staff.
The kitchen presented us with abundant, well-cooked, and very fresh dishes.
The quality/price ratio was excellent.
I personally left with the recipe, or at least the idea, for the chef's calamarata; incredible!
See you soon, we hope!

02/01/2026: I was with friends for a post-dinner drink, and we chose this place based on past experiences that were neither praise nor infamy.
We arrived at the place and were off to a bad start, with two people smoking inside the covered veranda.
We attempted to order some gins from the long list available on the menu, but they promptly weren't available... After about 4-5 failed attempts at ordering gin, and one attempt at ordering a beer, where none of the 4 on the menu were available, we decided to let the waiter decide, indicating our tastes...
My friends were a little luckier, but I received some real "fuel"...
As long as I live, I will never set foot there again.
Thank you and never again.
27/12/2025: A terrible spritz, all ice in a plastic cup. Paid €8 without a single crisp or appetizer. Outrageous.
