22/04/2024: È un ristorante che offre un menù a base di ottimo pesce fresco. La location è spettacolare, una delle più belle in zona. Una delle cose che ho apprezzato di questo posto è il servizio che è assolutamente eccellente e sempre attento. La qualità del cibo è impeccabile. Consiglio veramente a tutti a provare almeno una volta questo posto, sia per palato che per la location.

11/04/2024: ....I go in and politely ask for an ice cream and a bathroom where I can wash my hands... while I'm going out I approach the counter to give instructions on the flavor of the ice cream and he instead approaches the cashier for advance payment with also ungrammatical arguments about the his rule which is not to serve me ice cream but to make me give the receipt first...😁...I reflect for a moment, I was about to pay but then I thanked this improvised commercial operator, I expressed my amazement at such relational inability and I said goodbye without giving in to such "immense courtesy" wishing him many good deals that he will probably never do. Unique. Never happened in my life, fifty years of civil and professional relationships. Thumbs down.

18/08/2024: Ice cream of questionable quality: it left a sandy residue in the mouth, too pasty in the mouth and the flavor was not well identified. The service can be improved, there is little attention towards the customer. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired, the tables outside were covered in a greasy film and the fake grass on the floor was dark gray and not green as it should be.

24/08/2024: I don't usually comment but unfortunately this one deserves a lot, something happened to me tonight that borders on the incredible and the absurd but also the laws of human tolerance This mediocre bar in Borgomanero only lets you sit at the table if you are willing to give them €4 minimum drink so: if you have a 6 month old baby or are a teetotaler or cannot drink anything other than water for medical reasons, you because you sat in their place and take up space in which you should earn at least €4 for each seat (you have to forced to pay them) in my opinion, as well as being embarrassing, it is terrible because if I can only drink one water (whether for health reasons or for economic problems) I have to pay for it what they would charge following a minimum drink of €4, i.e. €1.50 .... This evening, among other things, I heard a waitress (I presume the bartender's companion) say to me: of a little bar and I repeat: from Borgomanero who thought he was instead in Corso Como or Porto Cervo with arrogance that: "a coke €3 only at Esselunga" ... poor thing. I repeat, I paid €4 for a "vaja" brand natural water, one of the least expensive on the market, €4 because in addition to the drinks of my 4 friends at €10 each, he was supposed to arrive at the end of the month (this is what I was told ) with my seat, and that they charge €5 for coca cola just because they are a company and at the end of the month they have to invoice... for food... that if they all took water or coffee they wouldn't live... like if it were possible... that if you occupy a seat you have to give him €4 (even without consuming) or rather you have to consume a glass of water €4 to sit. I repeat, €5 for a can of coke and €4 for still water for the "minimum consumption" I wanted to get up first… A bar in Borgomanero........ AH AND ATTENTION I DIDN'T EXPLAIN MYSELF 100% AS I WOULD HAVE WANTED IN ONE POINT: THESE MAKE YOU PAY €4 FOR WATER BUT IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE SECOND THEN YOU PAY €1.50. THEY WILL ONLY MAKE YOU PAY €4 FOR THE FIRST ONE WHY DID YOU SIT IN THEIR PLASTIC CHAIRS. 12/08/2024: After consuming (2 cocktails of €8 and €10 each), my son joined us and asked for a glass of water. But they pointed out to us that the obligatory and minimum drink is €4 and therefore he could not have been served only water. I then got another cocktail for myself and obviously water for my son (which in any case didn't reach the figure of €4...). In the meantime he served other customers (probably his friends) drinks that cost less than €4. After this fall in style, I will definitely not go back again and I don't recommend going there. There are several other places nearby as it is located in the centre.

28/08/2024: Ci era stato consigliato da gente del posto, avevamo letto le buone recensioni e abbiamo prenotato una cena ...che dire ... Antipasto di salumi e formaggi appena accettabile, la pasta immangiabile, senza nessun sapore... Questo in Italia, la patria della pasta, è quasi una vergogna.

17/08/2024: Grande sorpresa nel centro di Scilla. Osteria decisamente di alto livello con piatti tutti buonissimi, porzioni abbondanti e di ottima qualità. Provato per due sere consecutive e per due sere sono riusciti a sorprenderci. Se poi a questo uniamo una squisita gentilezza e prezzi più che onesti per la qualità, non si può non dare un giudizio di eccellenza. Strameritata peraltro.

02/07/2024: We had an excellent almond milk and some packaged ice creams, so a completely biased opinion. But I want to go out on a limb about the beauty and cleanliness of the bathrooms, which is quite unprecedented for a beach. The location is beautiful, between the sea and the pine forest, equipped with tables and benches.

13/06/2024: No card and then €5 for a glass of very simple white wine!! The hard olives were charged a whopping €2. Never again!

15/08/2024: terrible place!! even with a reservation they made us wait an hour on the sofas at the entrance, which were also wet, which we obviously dried ourselves. another hour and a half to get some good pizzas to eat, which only made us feel bad in the evening and the next day! inexperienced waiters, 30 minutes to bring us two bottles of water and despite the many thanks for everything they brought us they only managed to look at each of us badly and disgusted. I know it's hard work but you can at least pretend... in conclusion, terrible restaurant with exaggerated prices for the crap they make you eat

15/08/2024: As usual in Reggio Calabria it works "u sai cu sugnu eu e cu si tu", last night after we had booked at 9.30pm we queued up (considering that there are two queues for both the pizzeria and the restaurant), after more than half an hour of waiting the queue became quite long and the less polite people moved forward past the queue because a guy from the club who was shown the door only let them pass because he knew them or they were friends, and I don't think it's correct considering that we had all made the reservation and waited our turn, and obviously they passed in the restaurant queue to go to the pizzeria just to do a favor or to do it first...so have a bit of respect and common sense for everyone because the people who see these scenes "even if they are not from Calabria" are disgusted to see these things....

20/08/2024: Splendid rotisserie a stone's throw from the sea, convenient both for a take-away lunch and for a dinner on their splendid terrace, whose view is breathtaking. Delicious arancini not to mention their swordfish sandwich. The best I have eaten in Scilla. The bread is made directly by them, crunchy and super thin, so you can really taste the goodness of the swordfish. Nothing to envy of other places, perhaps to teach! Courtesy, goodness and kindness. We will return during our next holiday in Scilla🥰

Seven years later. August 16, 2024. A special evening at the Calypso camping village in Marina di Caulonia. La luna, the restaurant by the sea, a beautiful and large company of various European nations (Italians, Germans and a Dutchman), who for years have chosen Calypso to spend the summer on the sea of ​​the Ionian coast of Calabria. A special dinner with a single dish "fusilloni with cucuzzelli spinusi", the famous spiny wild artichokes widespread on this coast. A "five-star" cook, Antonella, who was able to introduce and enjoy a typical local dish that will remain in the memories of all the participants (18). And, finally, local ice creams (truffles) proposed by the village director, Marco, concluded a well-presented and well-served dinner. The positive opinion on the dinner was shared by all the guests, including children and teenagers (5 out of 18).

17/08/2024: The former restaurant and pizzeria no longer exists. We ate there last summer and, like all the years before, it was very good. It is closed or moved to a hut on the beach. The quality is no longer what it was back then. The pinsa was a finished floor with little covering. Coperto per person 2 euros. In a beach shack... That's it for the Calypso chapter. Too bad.
