01/10/2025: Hotel with beautiful, functional, clean rooms and an excellent view. Basically, everything you need in a hotel. Breakfast is more than adequate, and the staff are very friendly. Several good restaurants are nearby for dinner. An excellent starting point for visiting the surrounding area and Reggio.

16/02/2026: I returned to this restaurant with the memory of a positive experience, but this time the disappointment was clear. The deterioration mainly concerns the portions: appetizers and first courses have drastically reduced since my last visit. Dishes that were once satisfactory are now merely mediocre, with quantities that don't even begin to justify the asking prices. This isn't just an impression, but a concrete and easily noticeable difference. The appetizer at Giumani was presented with €2-€3 worth of ingredients (4 olives, 3 mushrooms, 1 mozzarella, 1 ricotta, and 50 cents worth of cured meats). The same goes for the first courses. It's hard not to think of a clear reduction in quantities to the detriment of the customer. A real shame, because when such fundamental aspects are changed for the worse, it undermines the trust of those who return expecting the same standard. I hope the restaurant reconsiders this decision soon, because as it stands today, the experience isn't worth the price.

08/02/2026: An excellent Sunday family lunch experience in a welcoming, uncrowded atmosphere, with impeccable service and friendly staff. We enjoyed both stockfish dishes and local produce. Everything was delicious and well-prepared, with both traditional and innovative dishes. The experience was excellent, and we'll gladly return soon. A welcoming place for families with small children. Ample parking.

30/12/2025: This restaurant is run by a family of swordfish fishermen. We tried excellent dishes (mixed appetizer (meatballs, prosciutto parmigiana), paccheri alla ghiotta, and swordfish rolls). P.S. Obviously, 90% of the dishes are swordfish-based, and Calabrian wines are included.

30/09/2025: We ate here twice, beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff, but most importantly amazingly fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, we'll be back

22/08/2025: Good pizzeria in the small square of Riace where they often hold concerts and there is a playground for children. It's a shame that the service is not very good, they are a bit slow and not attentive to the customer.

25/08/2025: Despite the language barrier, we managed to make ourselves understood. They were very kind. We had breakfast there, the prices were reasonable and it was very good.

19/07/2025: Este es un gran restaurante. La comida es buena, así como el servicio. Comimos aquí un par de veces durante nuestra estancia en Scilla. La comida es preciosa. Mi esposo tuvo Picanha un par de veces. Teníamos el plato de mariscos que era bueno pero no vale la pena los 18 €. Tuve filete de atún que era bueno y especial de día lasaña de pez espada que era delicioso, que deben poner en el menú seguro. El único problema que tengo es el precio. Para un restaurante de calle con scooters y coches pasando los precios son demasiado altos. El costo es comparable con restaurantes en Chianalea con impresionantes vistas y asientos en el océano.

30/09/2025: A nice environment for a meal. Service was good but the pizzas were tasty but somewhat inconsistent across the table with some overcooked and some undercooked. We did bring this to the attention of the staff and they rectified it without fuss.

07/09/2025: Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The (raw) sausages and very commercial fries. The pizza was truly 20 years old, in a sadly negative way.

11/12/2025: A beautiful place. Very kind people, a blue sea with the Aeolian Islands in front of you, an enchanting terrace, a very tidy town, elegant and kind people. The restaurant was excellent. My husband and I were thrilled. I hope to return soon.

26/12/2025: Rude owner Last time at this place To avoid We had a bad experience. We had communicated that we needed to remove a piece from the order, and the lady canceled the entire order except for the round pizza, and oh well... We explained the misunderstanding to the lady, and she turned a deaf ear... I would have expected her to at least apologize and give us a small discount, since it was clearly their mistake. I won't be returning.

05/11/2025: Come da passaparola suggeritoci da amici abbiamo provato questa esperienza culinaria al Gallo Storto di Masserano in provincia di Biella. Abbiamo gustato degli ottimi piatti prodotti interamente da loro e di alta qualità . Il menù non è molto vario proprio per preservare la qualità. Locale a conduzione famigliare, pulito e curato nei particolari e inoltre potrete usufruire della rete wi- fi gratuita. Il costo è nella media e i soldi spesi li valeva tutti. Sicuramente è un ottimo ristorante da consigliare.

21/02/2026: After a long day at work, I notice the sign and don't hesitate. I walk in and am immediately greeted by the very kind owner. Perhaps I went for dinner at "Swiss" hours, but it was more than peaceful: I was the only one there, and the owner took over the kitchen just for me and was able to reconcile me with the world... a pasta dish that received an A+ and a seared tuna executed to perfection. A little detail that unfortunately few people do: he asked me how cooked it was... well done, I finally managed to eat tuna that doesn't turn to a shoe sole!!! The menu is as a menu should be: not too many choices, not too few, but still leaving you spoiled for choice. The owner is very approachable and kind, but never intrusive. What can I say? I've found my place when I return to Reggio...

08/02/2026: If I could give less than one star, I would gladly! Rude, insensitive owner. I went to lunch at this restaurant with my husband and two-year-old daughter. After a few minutes of sitting down, the little girl started crying. The owner immediately rushed to our table to scold us, exclaiming, "Make her stop or it'll be a mess, and that's not right." From there, it was a race against time; less than an hour later, we were out. I'm giving one star not only for his insensitive treatment of a two-year-old girl, but also because it's inconceivable that the owner (the jack-of-all-trades) always came into the kitchen with dirty hands, portioned raw salmon, and then wiped them with a cloth they probably use to clean countertops. No way!!! A waitress who acts as a kitchen assistant and not a waitress, a cook dressed in plain clothes with an apron over it, not even wearing a hat to protect a hair from accidentally falling out. Spending €82 for two. Swordfish parmigiana (nonexistent), two linguine with swordfish (nonexistent), and orecchiette with tomato sauce, accompanied by a glass of wine and a bottle of water, and being treated rudely, and seeing such a mess, I would say is simply unthinkable. Not to mention the smell of cigars that lingers for the entire stay. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
