01/08/2026: I happened upon this restaurant to try it, also because of the advertising, but I was very disappointed. What can I say, since it's a review, I felt it was my duty to write to try elsewhere.

29/07/2026: Nice, secluded spot. Excellent rustic appetizers and fried calamari. Very friendly staff. The only small flaw: where I sat there were a lot of ants 🐜 that bothered me the entire time I was there, crawling up and down my legs. I suggested using repellent because it wasn't very pleasant. It could have cost them a star, but hey... I ate well, so I'll give it to them. See you next time. 🙂

11/07/2026: Comfortable and familiar atmosphere. I celebrated my son's 18th birthday and it was a great evening. The owners are very helpful and attentive to the needs of customers who want to celebrate a special event and personalize it. The quality of the pizza is excellent. Well done.

01/09/2025: We stopped "by mistake" because it was close to the B&B where we were staying. And thank goodness! The food was phenomenal! Fresh, plentiful, and unexpectedly CHEAP! The wait staff were super friendly. What can I say... it couldn't have been better!

11/09/2025: Our visit to Granitiamo was very disappointing and confusing from the start. The prices and rules were unclear: the menus at the tables indicated lower prices, while only inside did we discover the actual cost of the granitas (€3.50 for the medium one and €5.00 for the large one). Furthermore, we were verbally informed that the €3.50 granita allowed a maximum of two flavors, while the €5.00 one allowed three. ​We ended up spending €13 for two granitas and one brioche col tuppo, a total far higher than expected. Furthermore, we couldn't pay by card, and we weren't given a receipt. ​The service was rude and rushed. Conversely, we noticed a marked disparity in the treatment given to another table, likely regulars, who received special attention and significantly better service, including a souvenir photo taken by the owner. An experience we will not repeat and that we do not recommend.

19/06/2026: We went here with friends and had a really good time. The pizza was delicious, well-cooked, and very tasty. The appetizers also deserve a special mention: crispy battered onions, flavorful baked potatoes, and truly excellent stuffed zeppole. The owner was very kind and welcoming, gave us excellent advice, and was attentive throughout the evening. The place is warm and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. It's definitely a place to return to and one I'd happily recommend.

13/12/2025: I ordered three pizzas on Deliveroo, one of which was stretched. The pizzas arrived cold and burned. The stretched pizza was also cut in half and placed in two different boxes, something no one had requested. The mixed fried food never arrived. When I asked the delivery person for an explanation, he initially said "there was no mixed fried food." After I pointed out the receipt for the order, he corrected himself, saying the pizzeria had forgotten it. At that point, I called the pizzeria. The girl responded rather annoyed, saying she knew nothing about it. I then asked to speak to the person in charge; on the first call, she refused and hung up. I called back, now rightfully annoyed, and was put through to the owner, who coldly and with a total lack of respect for the customer, passed the buck, blaming Deliveroo for everything (except, of course, the burnt pizzas). There was a lack of courtesy, attention, and professionalism. Result: €40 spent on cold, burnt pizzas and a mixed fry I never received. Rating: 0 stars.

28/06/2026: The village is beautiful. Its streets, its church... Very pretty. If you go in the summer, you have to park down below and take the little train because they don't allow cars into the village.

07/12/2025: During a drive through Aspromonte on a gloomy December day, we from Turin on vacation stopped here, drawn by the parked cars. We discovered paradise. Sandwiches of all kinds, freshly made with local products. Sweets and other products... a marvel.

25/10/2025: The place is certainly beautiful.....but in all of Calabria I had never paid 4 euros for a granita without a brioche to go.

16/09/2025: Always a guarantee when it comes to granitas and pastries in general. The welcome, however, is a bit questionable. The owners are completely indifferent, busy playing on their phones or chatting with other people while you're sitting, waiting longer than necessary, with tables to clear, and waiters busy at the counter. It's a shame.

12/04/2026: Interesting place, rustic yet modern. We had a seafood and rustic appetizer, and it was an appetizer that doubled as dinner, and what a dinner it was!!! A taste of everything that's delicious in Calabria. An excellent tasting experience. Barone Rosso is a place I recommend if you're in Gioiosa Ionica 😃
