05/01/2025: We went to the store based on the good reviews and at first we were immediately impressed by the interior, as well as the chocolate. But that's where it ended. The service was as if it didn't exist. And certainly not for foreign-speaking guests. Because people speaking Italian were served with a smile and explained what to do in the store and how to behave. And we, speaking in English, were invisible. Not to mention families with children. The saleswoman's behavior and look when her son wanted to eat some chocolate were downright unpleasant. I only bought there because it was too far to go back to the center downstairs. It's a pity, because the store is beautiful and in a beautiful place, but the behavior of the staff leaves a lot to think about.

27/12/2024: Good chocolate, prices much above average compared to other chocolate sellers in Modica. The lady at the checkout who repeated several times a maximum of 2 3 tastings.....ok then since I only bought 2 bars...I WOULD HAVE GOT MANY MORE!!

07/01/2025: When we came for lunch, every table in the multi-room restaurant was buzzing with happy diners. The waitstaff did an admirable job bringing dozens of orders hot from the kitchen and even though it did not look as if a table was available, the accommodating host found us a place in the warren of rooms. This is an old-style family-run trattoria, full of history and evidently beloved by locals. The menu is large and includes all the local specialties. Prices could not be lower but the quality is excellent. We loved the cavatieddi ccò sucu rì maiali and the generous bollito of veal. The wine selection offers inexpensive choices but the restaurant also serves some excellent Sicilian craft beers.

05/01/2025: If you want to eat REAL typical food, in an AUTHENTIC trattoria environment but with style, paying tavern prices.... You're in the right place. And what's more, you're also right in the center of Modica! That's why it was packed on a Thursday lunch in early January. Full of locals btw. Very kind young waitress, worth mentioning. Cavateddi da shoe, very tasty pasta with macco, just like at home with grandma. Mixed rustic appetizer sufficient for two people. Strong house red wine but better than the average house reds around. What more can I say?

29/12/2024: Dishes with attention to the smallest details. The steamed cod and crispy octopus with caramelized onion are highly recommended. Super courteous and kind waitress. Before the arrival of the dishes we requested, we were served local breadsticks with local bread and an entrée of panelle with octopus and herb mayonnaise. Less positive was the fact that I paid 8 euros for a cover charge for 2 people and that I paid 12 euros for 2 bitters. In the vast majority of restaurants I found myself in, the bitters are always offered on the house and the fact that they were not offered is more than fair, but paying 12 euros for them seems a bit excessive to me. It is still a place that I highly recommend and to which I would gladly return.

08/10/2024: Mystified how this hotel is 4 star. Rooms tired, basic and unloved. Cupboard broken, light casing broken in bathroom. Toilet seat loose and very yellow. Internet constantly dropping out. Breakfast sub standard. Cheap cereals and plastic cups for juices. Also attached restaurant is a Steak house-why not have a cuisine that caters for everyone’s tastes 🤷🏼‍♀️

18/09/2024: A perfect flying lunch, well organized place and cuisine attentive to the quality of the products… Very low prices and coffee offered on the house... what more do you want?
