11/08/2026: Lack of seriousness, forgetting the chicken order and leaving us hungry with just a 'sorry', not fit for customer service. Too bad.

16/07/2026: Pizzas, envelopes with prosciutto, pomodoro, mozzarella, mushrooms, spinach—whatever you like. Roasted chicken and other hot dishes—homemade, inexpensive, and fantastic food. Our favorite is the arrancini, but not the deep-dish ball kind; the version baked in puff pastry is fantastic! :) Open Monday-Saturday from 12:00 PM to midnight. A daily must-stop on the way to the beach.

01/08/2026: Gluten free pizzas and pasta available - to start I had a gluten free focaccia loaded with fresh tomatoes; for main I had a gluten free spaghetti carbonara - the food was delicious! 4 stars given as we had to wait a little while for a table and when we did get one it was very cramped - in fairness we were a group of 6 and we didn’t pre book so in future we would book ahead. Lots of veggie options too and everyone in our group really enjoyed the food. I recommend the Etna Rosso red wine - very smooth and drinkable! We had complementary prosecco on arrival and I was given a separately packaged GF roll whilst the remainder of my group had fresh bread. Service was great and we would definitely recommend this place for coeliacs and those who are also dairy free and veggie / vegan!

21/05/2026: After exploring Erice, we came here for dinner. The food, the Ericina busiata and the Trapanese busiata, were delicious. The day before, I booked a table with an amazing view on WhatsApp. The service was friendly, courteous, and quick. We recommend it.

19/04/2026: A quick reflection: I've been frequenting Taormina since I was 14, when, penniless and a little envious, I would spy on the "grown-ups" sitting at the Mokambo café, which wasn't your average bar but a mandatory stop, not for everyone, to start the evening. Playboys and dandies would set the already sultry summer evenings ablaze with their presence, smiles laced with seduction on tanned faces and white suits with unbuttoned shirts. The evenings continued at the "Giara" of the great Cico Scimone and then the Manuli brothers. I watched them—Turi Pollicina, Mimmo Cassaniti, Vito Costa, Carlo Spina, to name a few—and I waited until I grew up to be able to match or surpass them. Love, betrayal, and unscrupulousness passed over those tables, and little by little I managed to secure a table that was always reserved in that whirlwind of emotions called Mokambo. Together with lifelong friends Giovanni Costa, Seby di Giovanni, Alfredo Minissale, Ugo Pollicina, and Guido Costa, we spent decades doing what was natural to us: experiencing the nightlife in all its strangest facets, to the fullest and without limits. Years later, now married and "with my head in the clear," as they say, I found myself in Taormina last Saturday evening with my wife, and after dinner at "cu ti lu dissi," an excellent restaurant in Porta Catania owned by friends Fabio and Francesco, we decided to have a drink at Mokambo. We walked along the Corso, with many shops closed due to the late hour (9:10 PM), and to our great surprise, we found Mokambo CLOSED. Asking around, we were told that closing time was 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. How sad. One of the historic symbols of Taormina's nightlife closed at 9:00 PM. But does the new ownership (Dolce & Gabbana) know that nightlife in Taormina starts after 9 PM? Shame on them!!! The time for weirdness is certainly over for us, but I believe an era that saw us as the protagonists of the last episode is over!!!

11/05/2026: May 10, 2026 We're here for a photoshoot for a First Communion and Confirmation. The family was kind enough to reserve a table for us. It was our first time here, and I have to say we were very pleased with everything. The pizza was delicious and tasty, the atmosphere was very clean and well-kept, and the waiters were also very efficient and professional. I recommend stopping by if you're near San Leone.

16/04/2026: Hotel Review – Location right in the heart of the Ballarò Market, Palermo *Good* - *Cleanliness*: Both rooms were impeccably clean. Full marks. - *Restaurant*: Outstanding, truly Michelin-star quality. Service, friendliness, team – everything was extremely courteous, charming, and service-oriented. Every dish we tried was flawless in both taste and presentation. The restaurant alone is worth a visit. - *Bed in Room 1*: Large and very comfortable. - *Room 1 Amenities*: Two bathrooms with toilets and showers, plus a freestanding bathtub in the bedroom, and two TVs. - *Service during room exchange and check-out*: Very friendly and competent staff member. Extremely helpful. - *Luggage storage*: Luggage storage was offered while waiting for the room to be ready. - *Size of Room 2*: Spacious. - *For my needs*: It was perfectly adequate for my needs. I'm very easygoing about this. *Bad* - *Location*: Right next to the Ballarò Market. Extremely loud and dirty. Construction sites everywhere, jackhammers all day long. No vacation atmosphere whatsoever. The views from the rooms are nothing but renovations and construction noise. - *Noise in Room 1*: Located directly in the courtyard. Restaurant patrons sit just 1 meter from the room door. A compressor behind the bed kept switching on all night – as loud as an air compressor next to your pillow. Sleep was impossible. - *Technology in Room 1*: Flickering lights, probably 20 different switches, transformer noises, until eventually nothing worked at all. - *Smell in Room 1*: It smelled musty. We had to empty the dehumidifier in the room three times in one night. - *Building Condition in Room 1*: Questionable. - *Room 2*: Extremely small bathroom, no bathtub. Dirty balcony. A less expensive room category below the suite would have even included a whirlpool, which we had actually expected with the suite. - *Check-in service*: The employee seemed arrogant, lacked charisma, no smile, and was neither charming nor service-oriented. No explanation was given about the room. The concierge did not offer the woman assistance with her luggage. There was also no greeting in the restaurant in the evening. - *Value for money*: €774.85 for 3 nights in a 4-star hotel. For that price, we had construction noise, technical problems, and a musty smell on the first night.

14/04/2026: A lovely and very quiet hotel right in the city center. We had a simply furnished room and the breakfast was adequate. The building itself is very nice and the staff was friendly. Great location.

31/05/2026: Last night I came with my boyfriend, I had ice cream, passable, he had a slice of pistachio seven-layer cake: 6 euros wasted, I have never eaten such a terrible cake, I'm sorry but just for this I would give 0

28/05/2026: Terrible, the staff is incredibly rude. Not all of them, but most of them. I wouldn't recommend going there at all. At the checkout, I encountered a guy who, annoyed that I was paying by card even though it was €2.50, snatched my credit card from my hand and slammed it violently against the POS terminal. I was shocked. Don't go where it looks like they're about to do you a favor by serving you. I'm sorry, but that's the unpleasant experience I had.

03/06/2026: Everything was great! Coffee was very good, the sandwiches were tasty and the croissants were to die for.

30/05/2026: Lovely wee cafe. Stoppyfor a couple of Spritz on way back from railway station but got an enormous feed to go with it. Good service & great local vibe.

19/05/2026: I have to say, everything is very good. We tried the focaccia messinese, the pitoni, and the arancini with ragù, and I have to say, I wasn't expecting this quality. I noticed they use excellent ingredients. The staff was kind and welcoming. The dining room is small, but it's a takeout place.

For me, Caffè Sicilia is this 💛 Entering here means entrusting yourself to the talent of maestro Corrado Assenza, a true pastry artist. Each creation reflects a constant search for the perfect balance: clean, intense yet never overpowering flavors, measured sweetness, ingredients that are individually recognizable. Nothing is excessive, nothing is cloying. Everything is harmony. Granitas, brioches, cannoli, savarin, gelato, blancmange... every bite leaves that rare feeling of complete satisfaction. It's a pastry shop that educates the palate and demonstrates that simplicity, when supported by technique and excellent raw materials, can reach extraordinary heights. A special mention also goes to all the staff, always courteous and smiling, and to Nives, who welcomes guests with elegance and great professionalism and discretion. Corrado is rarely seen because he's in his kingdom, the workshop, where he and his son continue to create wonders every day. And then there are the Christmas panettone, which have become an essential tradition for my family: among the best I've ever tasted. If I lived closer, I think it would be impossible not to stop here every week!

01/06/2026: During our week-long stay in the beautiful Petralia Sottana, we returned to this pastry shop several times because we fell in love with it. Wonderful owners, a well-stocked counter with a wide variety and quality, and unparalleled kindness and courtesy. Not to mention how delicious everything was. The owner spoiled us in every way, and I will definitely return on vacation to Petralia to enjoy the wonderful treats you offer again. Thank you!
