At Taberna, you eat and drink like in few other places (and I'm not just talking about Civitavecchia), so go and try it!
(Please refrain from people who go out once every two years and cheapskates who ignore the ingredients.)

04/11/2025: Delicious pastries for 40 years.
A few years after my previous review, I must unfortunately note that the mini pastries are no longer what they used to be. I've bought them a few times, and even if I eat them no more than three hours later, having kept them in the refrigerator, they're already gone, with flabby pastry and cream or almost sour cream. You can't sell old pastries, because it's not just a question of money, but because it takes away a joy you wanted to bring home to celebrate. Not Schettino, at least the old one. After 40 years, I'm forced to change pastry shops.
26/10/2025: We sit at the table, convinced that, like in all bars in Rome, there's table service, a waitress next to us chats with some customers. We wait, 15 minutes. She doesn't even look up, just keeps going about her business, as if she were paid to talk about hair color and vacations. Finally, I get up and ask if there's table service, since other people had been served while we hadn't. She replies, "If you want table service, come in and order it." This place used to be a beautiful bar,
now, besides being old and sad, it's also run by people who have no customer service whatsoever. Well, move on.

08/12/2025: Cozy place, good food, but the wait is an hour for a plate of cold cuts. I think the staff should warn you that if you choose pizza, it will arrive in 5 minutes, but if you choose dishes from the restaurant, it takes forever. I'm sorry, but I don't think we'll be back.

If someone asks for Coca-Cola, which isn't listed on the menu as a drink (but there's an "etc..." that might lead one to assume it), they don't just say, "Look, we don't have that, we have Pepsi." They say, "Yes, that's fine," and then bring you Pepsi, which you might not want if you know it!

02/03/2026: It's not the first time we've been to this place. But last dinner really amazed us. We ordered two appetizers and then a salt-cooked sea bass for two. When the sea bass was ready, the waiter showed it to us but then went off to clean it in the kitchen, and when he brought our plates, there were two tiny pieces of sea bass. There wasn't even the part with the large bones. As if they served us half the fish! In the end, when the bill arrived, the sea bass cost a whopping €90, too bad we ate it for €30. We left hungry! And €175 for two without wine! Never again!
16/02/2026: A seafood restaurant with a good selection of ingredients (medium and large sea fish); however, the cuisine leaves something to be desired, as the fish isn't always prepared to order. The first courses are the restaurant's signature dish; I recommend the spaghetti with sea urchins. The wine list is extensive, but the bottles are marked up higher than average. The atmosphere is traditional, but the downside is poor ventilation (the dining room has a strong fishy odor).

13/03/2026: Bruschetta - a slice of oven-baked bread with diced tomatoes on top.
It needed seasoning, but there was no rocket :-(
The house wine was so-so.

30/11/2025: Lunch in Latina, passing through Rome. I think we're starting to lose control of restaurant prices in Italy.
A portion of prosciutto for two, two portions of boiled meat with three small pieces of different meats, including chicken, a portion of mashed potatoes as large as the circumference of a standard round glass, a bottle of water, and two coffees cost €75, with the boiled meat alone costing €25 per portion.
