06/03/2025: Small trattoria in the center of Trieste, located in a side street. The place is very nice with a mezzanine overlooking the kitchen Very kind staff. Very good and well presented starters, I'm sorry I didn't take photos. Worthy of mention is the truly exquisite octopus salad. Abundant and well-seasoned first courses. My tagliolini with scampi are excellent and well plated. A glass of pelinkovac offered by the manager was very welcome.

04/02/2025: Nice and good. Friendly and approachable but without being intrusive. I appreciated everything about this little place in the center of Trieste. Amazing mix of starters, I tried creamed cod, anchovies in saor, scallops au gratin but above all the octopus was amazing. The first was an excellent and plentiful spaghetti with seafood. Highly recommended

28/02/2025: The ice cream was great and the taste was delicious very often we find ice cream shops open in winter and this one had its own special taste ! Many different varieties we tried some of them and they were far better than we expected!

02/02/2025: Die Bar Gran Malabar, oder wie die Triestiner sagen, das Mala, oder die Malabar ist immer einen Besuch wert. Das kleine Lokal hat einst Geschichte geschrieben und die teils beeindruckenden Leistungen der Winzer der Region in die Welt getragen. Für alte Stammgäste wie mich ist es natürlich traurig, dass Walter und Mario mittlerweile im Ruhestand sind, aber zumindest Mario ist noch sehr dahinter, und es geht kaum ein Tag, an dem er nicht nach dem Rechten schaut. Die Nachfolger kommen großteils aus der alten Mannschaft, und sie machen einen ausgezeichneten Job. Die angebotenen Produkte variieren, nach wie vor gibt es kleine Snacks und immer noch Getränke al banco, man kann sie sich aber auch servieren lassen (dann kostet, wie in Italien durchaus üblich - alle Produkte um 1€ mehr. Nach wie vor ist die Malabar ein Fixpunkt der Stadt, die Atmosphäre ist immer noch einzigartig und die Produkte vorzüglich.

26/01/2025: I went there as a teenager... I don't like wine... I'm a teetotaler but I remember the sandwiches that Mario, Walter and Adriana "toasted" for me. A delicacy. I still remember some historic clients: Mrs. Ilnea (always had two little Perchinese dogs), Mrs. Nerina (who was envied for her 2-carat solitaire and jokingly mocked for her yellow 500 L, Mrs. Nives always elegantly dressed in a suit style Jessica Fletcher, and Mrs. Fioretta with her husband Roberto who were always very kind to me, like all the staff.. we're talking about at least 24 years ago. But I still have a pleasant I remember Some people are no longer here today but I think it's nice to remember them with this post

25/03/2025: The sandwiches are big and good but the beer prices are out of this world. 8 euros for a 0.4cl beer (all of them except the special one...the special one costs 9). In short, the price of Piazza di Spagna while you're on a bench in the outskirts of Trieste. Recommended for teetotallers!

22/12/2024: Luogo perfetto. Ambiente accogliente e retrò, servizio ineccepibile e cibo ottimo. Cozze, pasta al granzoporo,gnocchi agli scampi e tocai. Sorbetto offerto. 56 euro ben spesi. Torneremo!!! Maoooo!

13/11/2024: Ci sono stato un sabato a pranzo . lo avevamo notato qualche settimana prima ma era tutto pieno. stavolta siamo stati fortunati. si tratta di una trattoria a gestione familiare molto accogliente con cucina tradizionale , fatta con amore e semplicità. 16/03/2025: The service is BAD. There were 3 of us, we asked for 2 coffees, 1 tonic water and 3 slices of cake. We got off to a bad start from minute 1, the waiter made us get up to see the "remaining" cakes. The COLD coffees arrived, 20 minutes later I had to get up to ask for the cakes. Instead of apologizing, the waiter started arguing and wanted to be right...then he understood and changed his attitude. When it comes time to pay, yes he is apologetic and didn't charge us for the coffees. He's not to blame, it's the new management that is terrible. It's not the first time I've had a bad time in this place and it's a shame because the place is beautiful and if you want to buy a book, even more so. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

09/02/2025: Maybe it was Saturday and perhaps the day had been long, but I found everything a bit "cold". The windows are a little bare and the staff "distracted". The bathroom not so good. Come on, it'll be better next time.

18/02/2025: First surprise, the perfect service, we were pampered and the waiter's presence was discreet and precise. The kitchen is a pleasant surprise, but the images speak for themselves

16/02/2025: The place is young but a little retro, nice and clean, in the style of an old artists' tavern, the service is attentive but sober. The dishes are a surprise, there are two of us and we take 5 different fish dishes, all excellent, balanced without being too refined. We let ourselves be convinced on a house tocai, perfect choice. Excellent value for money A non-demanding venue, suitable for Valentine's Day as well as an evening with friends.

09/01/2025: I came across this place by chance for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant offers a daily menu that varies daily, offering four first courses, four second courses, various salads and homemade desserts. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. In just a few minutes they served us the spätzle carbonara and saffron risotto with sausage, both excellent and plentiful. There is no cover charge and a generous basket of bread is served. The place is not very large but I recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy a quick but delicious lunch break at honest prices.

08/03/2025: We enjoyed a lunch on a sunny Saturday. Very courteous and professional staff, you can see that they are very prepared. The dishes were recommended to us by a friendly guy who also knew how to pair them with an excellent wine, making this experience unforgettable.

01/03/2025: My girlfriend and I had dinner for Valentine's Day and the chef had prepared a themed tasting menu for the occasion with dishes chosen in detail and combinations of flavors and colors that can only be tried in high-class places like Harry's. Sublime how the flavors blended in the prawn risotto as well as the synergy between the contrasting flavors of the second course with the seafood flavor of the mullet and the sweet acidity of the raspberries, all accompanied by a pairing of wines recommended by the sommelier capable of enhancing every single dish. A fantastic sensory experience, compliments to the chef and the impeccable service that pampered us throughout the dinner
