02/07/2024: The illy café is very elegant and is located in the pedestrian area of the center of Trieste, offering a good view of the canals.
In addition to the classic excellent quality coffees, drinks with particular aromas are also prepared depending on the season.
The croissants are prepared fresh and have a soft interior and a crunchy crust, really delicious. I especially liked the almond one.
The only flaw of the place in my opinion is the somewhat rude staff, but it's still worth stopping for a break.
12/06/2024: The interior of the store is ordinary, with no special features, but the staff is pleasant and friendly, and the pistachio croissants are delicious. The croissants are unique in that they have a somewhat thick cream like Nutella on them. Tiramisu is square in size, about 2 centimeters wide and 2 centimeters long, and is very bite-sized, so it is somewhat less cost-effective.

20/08/2024: we had a couple of starters: sardoni in savor, cozze, capesante gratinate and some house white. mussels came in a very salty sauce - the rest was fine. nice place overall, but make sure you check out some of the alternatives nearby.
19/08/2024: Sorry but I don't think it deserves more than 2 stars.
Nothing to say about the staff who were quite quick, very kind and prepared, unfortunately however the price we paid for 2 slices of amberjack 2 appetizers 1 first course, €150 is truly excessive.
I don't recommend stopping...

The only flaw is that the stairs are not well lit.
The kind owner found us two seats despite having many reservations.
23/08/2024: Top sandwich shop! One of the few remaining top level in Trieste. Huge sandwiches, prices lower than average. The menu is also more varied than in the past. Fantastic cheese, super bread and wow chips. It's just a shame that they don't do takeaway due to lack of staff.

13/08/2024: The place is not very big, but it is intimate and familiar. It has a nice welcoming garden where you can eat outside. The exceptional staff, smiling and always available! The pizzas are of excellent quality, good, large with plenty of seasoning, wide choice of vegan pizzas (🤩). over the years it has become our pizzeria, like at home!
07/08/2024: The pizza was just okay by Italian standards. There was an excessive amount of cheese on it, so you were more likely to eat cheese with dough than the other way around. And unfortunately it was very watery, so you couldn't eat it by hand.
The Aperol was very strong, but that wasn't a bad thing.
The service was always attentive.
What is an absolute disgrace, however, is the charging of a service fee (Coperto). There is a general deduction of one star!

09/04/2024: Nice bar with nice and friendly staff, excellent well-stuffed toast and unfiltered draft beer.
Recommended for a breakfast, lunch or quick aperitif.
