A little gem in the heart of Trieste! Caffe Umberto Saba is one of those places where stopping by means a true Trieste experience. A quaint and charming setting, with an intimate, old-world atmosphere. Excellent coffee, attentive service, and kind, professional staff. A perfect place for breakfast, a break while exploring the city, or simply to sit and enjoy a coffee. A place I absolutely recommend: authentic, elegant, and with a wonderful atmosphere. A must-try!

it’s such an amazing and real italian feeling to come to this bar for a coffee. the barman is really nice, funny and friendly (if you speak italian, which I do).

Excellent coffee, great service. Lorenzo is always friendly, super fast service, and excellent croissants. Pistachio, etc. available by pre-order.

18/02/2026: Today I stopped by this delightful downtown café with a friend and my almost one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The entire staff was incredibly kind. I was busy making an important phone call, and my friend was playing with her to distract her daughter, and of course, the little girl made the usual racket they do at that age. Well, with a huge smile and a lot of serenity, they reassured me when I apologized for the mess, and they even interacted with the little girl with such joy. They gave me a much-needed moment of joy. We'll definitely be back, just a little less noisy (I promise). A very sweet girl at the counter even earned a flying kiss from my daughter, who never gives one so easily, and that filled my heart. We only had two coffees, but we took away a small, simple, and beautiful moment of joy. Thank you so much to all the staff and congratulations on the wonderful atmosphere you create together!
05/01/2026: Coffee is good but there is no changing table for babies even though there is enough space in the toilet. Also the music was too loud.
