03/06/2025: Il Corona per me il miglior ristorante della zona. Sabato abbiamo cenato fuori sulla terrazzetta nella bellissima location. Personale gentilissimo e molto attento ai dettagli. Menù spettacolare: grande scelta di ottimi antipasti, carne squisita, e…..le acciughe fritte fantastiche. Grande scelta dei vini grazie anche alla loro fornitissima cantina con acquisti anche online. Il mio posto del cuore.

24/04/2025: Viaggio di piacere, su consiglio della proprietaria del B&B siamo stati a cena in questo grazioso ristorante. Atmosfera rilassante e cordiale. Piatti gustosi e curati. Servizio ottimo. Cantina dei vini molto fornita e di ottima qualità. Prezzo un po’ più alto della norma.

17/11/2025: What the hell, you order a pizza and they bring you a giant crust smeared with tomato sauce... And they have the nerve to call it a high-hydration pizza! Contemporary Neapolitan pizza is something else entirely.

12/10/2025: Good location, overlooking the lake, on a fairly quiet street. Interesting appetizers are served outside (at tables in the square) along with generous platters of tapas. Dinner is available inside and under the loggia. Our experience with the food was disappointing: tasteless seafood appetizers, poorly cooked or low-quality fish (frozen and second-rate octopus, cuttlefish, and shrimp). The seasonings and flavors were dull, a shame. First courses: the seafood cuisine confirms its low quality... pasta with clams full of the grit typical of poorly prepared clams. The mussel soup was bland, and the mussels were not cleaned properly. The meat second course, seasoned with porcini mushrooms, was good. The menu is varied (but everything we tried was disappointing). The mandarin sorbet with Grandmarnier, recommended by the very kind waiter, was excellent. Quick service. It's a real shame considering the quality of the food. 3/5 stars overall, but the dishes are 2/5.

05/10/2025: Restaurant and aperitif. Nice lakefront location in the center of Arona. Prices are average, and service is excellent, with many talented and attentive young people. A full 8, recommended.

15/11/2025: Valentine's Day dinner 2025: a fairly varied set menu. We went to this restaurant because it's supposed to be a well-known name in the city. We entered and only after a while were we called to sit at the counter (quite uncomfortable for such a high-priced dinner). We were crammed in among bottles of wine and various decorations, even though there were still a few tables free (and they remained that way throughout the evening). After choosing the wine (the chef arrogantly wanted to choose for us even though we explicitly told him what we wanted), a plate of breadsticks, crackers, and bread arrived, not at all crispy and lacking in flavor. The dinner continued with quality dishes. At one point, the chef scolded one of the waiters (who had always been extremely kind and provided impeccable service) in front of the entire dining room. The icing on the cake was dessert and coffee at the end of the dinner. Only at a few tables did the chef serve strawberries with chocolate, leaving a few guests without them. Since it was a set menu, it should have been included with all courses. The food was good, though, it was a shame about the setting, which completely failed to live up to expectations and the bill.

12/10/2025: This is not a restaurant, it is a show!! You are in for an extraordinary experience, everything is managed to the smallest detail. Highly recommended!!

27/10/2025: Had dinner our first evening in Baveno…we were staying at the Hotel Dino for a conference. My daughter and I didn’t have high expectations but were rather prioritizing the convenience! We were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted and had immediate service. It was quiet as it was early by European dining standards at 7pm but over the course of our dinner filled in. We had an attentive and yummy experience. We ended the evening with their delicious tiramisu…we would return our final evening to have this dessert again!

06/12/2025: Sometimes you just find a restaurant that is great and you go back every night for dinner which is what we did. Great food great service great wine. What else could a man asked for.

07/11/2025: We went for an aperitif at the Lo Scalo restaurant. It had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and was very clean. We sat inside, which was well-heated, and ordered the platter of cured meats and cheeses. The flavors were excellent, authentic, and of high quality. The fried gnocco was SUPERB!!!! The seafood spaghetti was delicious, as were the fillet steak and the pizza. In short, everything was perfect. The kindness of the waiter and the sweetness of the owner were unique on Lake Maggiore. We'll gladly return to be pampered again. Highly recommended.

07/10/2025: The rudest waiter at the entire lake, and the service was commensurate. It's actually unimaginable that when we asked for antipasti, we were shown an empty plate at the next table as a sample...

07/12/2025: Introduction: We were a group of 10. Apparently, it's not always easy to find restaurants open on Saturdays, and we were lucky enough to find this one. It hosted us for two hours, where we had several dishes, including pasta with shrimp or tagliatelle as a starter, main courses like fried seafood, specials of the day, pizzas, and even desserts. Everything was delicious... especially the wines (I recommend the red), and it was also very fast. Since we were a large group, we were worried we'd have a wait, but we didn't. The staff who served us were really kind, from the moment we asked for information until payment. My only complaint is about the pasta portions: small compared to our usual portions, but that doesn't mean it wasn't still good.

24/03/2025: Con l’amico Luca siamo stati ospiti nella Hostaria Orcobacco di Borgomanero giovedì sera. La scelta è stata fatta in base a commenti positivi che abbiamo raccolto da amici e che ci hanno invitato a provarlo. Il locale all’esterno è anonimo ma entrando si percepisce un’atmosfera piacevole, l’ambiente carino, i tavoli ben disposti e temperatura gradevole, dato che c’è una bella stufa in ceramica. Il menù è esposto su una lavagna a tutta parete, si compone di 3 antipasti, 3 primi, 3 secondi e 3 dolci. Discorda da quello inserito sul sito dove vi sono 4 secondi. La nostra scelta è ricaduta su: Flan di topinambur con fonduta di toma Maccagno, il flan aveva un gusto appena appena accennato, la fonduta ha dato un po’ di tono. Crema di vongole veraci con pane croccante alle erbe e crumble di guanciale, al mio amico piacciono i toni decisi per cui lo ha apprezzato. Agnolotti ripieni di gorgonzola riserva con pere decana e burro alla maggiorana, la pasta piuttosto spessa (va a gusti) il gorgonzola riserva sovrastava il piatto. Petto d'anatra con purè di pastinaca, salsa al whisky e amarene, purtroppo ho dovuto far togliere le amarene per una mia problematica ed il piatto è stato inevitabilmente trasformato. La carne era cotta, il purè era ben eseguito, il tutto di mio gradimento. Tiramisù classico, purtroppo non ci siamo proprio… i savoiardi erano asciutti e con troppo mascarpone. Una vera delusione. Servizio cortese e molto presente. Il conto ammonta a 104 euro, con due calici di franciacorta, i prezzi del menu sono tutti esposti sul sito. È un locale da provare.

What impressed us most was the meticulous planning Denise and her team handled for our stay. From curated daily itineraries to seamless reservations and thoughtful recommendations, everything flowed effortlessly. It made our trip feel not just relaxing, but expertly crafted. And then—the dinner. Truly world-class. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite, look around the table, and silently agree that you’ll be talking about this night for years. Every dish showcased local ingredients, deep knowledge, and a chef's touch that borders on magic. One of the highlights of our entire trip was the pasta-making class hosted by Denise herself. It was fun, hands-on, charmingly educational, and absolutely delicious. Denise has an incredible gift for teaching and making everyone feel like part of something special. We didn’t just learn how to make pasta — we created one of the happiest memories of our journey. If you're considering a stay at Castello di Sinio, don't hesitate. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality, warmth, expertise, and true passion come together so naturally. Denise and her staff have built something remarkable, and we are already dreaming of our next visit.

20/10/2025: i recently stayed at the Castello for two nights and the Hotel emailed me to ask how my stay was. I responded by email, but sadly never heard back. I was in two minds about posting but as I never heard back please see below my view. I think that the hotel needs investment if seeking luxury and guests to want to come to the hotel for more than one night !! There needs to be a slight adjustment in the Hotel attitude which starts with the main gate signs that say no arrival before 2 pm, no outside visitors and then you also find that you can’t use the pool after 2 pm on departure day without being charged extra. In addition the Hotel has such a beautiful garden area, it’s a shame they don’t bother putting any cushions out and making it look nice other than leaving undressed tables and ones immagination as to how nice it could be. The hotel needs to create a more welcoming atmosphere with a lunch menu and dinner menu. Seems particularly weird that people will drive up to 30 minutes to other restaurants, but no one seems to want to drive to your hotel for lunch or dinner. You need to ask yourself why...... The pool chairs are particularly uncomfortable and should have cushions and they should be placed out every day automaticaly. In the bedroom it’s a shame you have to ask for a mattress topper and decent feather pillows in order to have a comfortable nights sleep. The bathrooms, particular the showers need a little bit of an upgrade. At least there is plenty of hot water..... No idea if the air-conditioning works but if it doesn’t then that would make a disastrous night sleep in your hotel. Luckily we were able to sleep with the windows open this trip. The furniture in your reception area is so large that basically makes it almost impossible to sit round without having to put one’s feet on top of the coffee table ! When sitting here people dont want to stare into the kitchen so door should be kept closed. It’s a great shame, but with 10% more effort maybe it could be 50% better. I would not rush back nor recommend to others based on my experiance. Next time would do more research as there has to be better as a very pretty area of Italy In the meantime we did have a lovely time touring the Barolo villages, tasting wine and eating in other restaurants.

06/12/2025: The food is simply exquisite, with every bite revealing the flavor of the ingredients. The ingredients are fresh, especially the shrimp. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
